You’re right! I never noticed it before. Funnily enough, I was tempted by the blue/black/white (I don’t remember the actual CW) Kawa Ora at one point too.A beautiful design that reminds me a lot of Kawa Ora in this cw.
Gorgeous! It’s superb on both your navy coat and your mum’s purple one. Pretty manicure too. It can be hard to find a soft pink that doesn’t lean too girlish - this hits the spot and matches perfectly with the pink accents in the shawl 😁Scarf of yesterday: Acte III while out for a walk with my Mum. I love that the black hem, in this case, allows the rich design to shine without competing for attention.

I always think it must be lovely to have a design in the same (or similar) CW in two different formats and sizes. I think @Snausages has Lab du Temps in both CSGM and 90 in the same CW?The most surprising contrast hem because the hot pink comes out of nowhere: Les Parures des Maharajas

The contrast hem on the silk carré is less surprising because the red can be found in the „rubies“ of the print.View attachment 6119801
Thank you @AnnaE. That is a compliment indeed from one of our most elegant scarfies!I love this — very elegant
Thank you, dear @LKBNOLA for the kind comments! I’ve just had the colour refreshed this weekend but haven’t had a chance to style it much yet. The current job is definitely contributing to an increasing amount of grey, so am leaning into it and blending with some silvery gold highlights. I thought the de la mer would be a good neutral, but didn’t realize how good a winter scarf it would be. It’s a good cool neutral palette and the contrast makes it wearable for me.Wow, beautiful and your beautiful hair @Lellabelle! I agree with you about the very tight cws this year, as well. I'm twins on this De la Mer and I am just nodding in agreement with @littlefoxes observation that it is reminiscent (in this tie) of Kawa Ora in this cw...I love the hem on this DlMaC... I think it adds to the "wintry mix" feeling...
Aww, thank you @Jereni! I love your curls too!Gorgeous design as always, and the calming blues look so great with your coloring. And gosh your hair is amaaaaazing.
Beautiful blues, @Karenska. Is this your second Washington’s Carriage losange?A beautiful contrasting hem on Washington Carriage losange.

Oh no, poor little Coco-bear! Sorry to hear of her health troubles, @EtsyBoss and hoping she gets better soon. Sending you puppy cuddles and best wishes for a quick and full recovery, so that she can get back to being a happy, healthy little fluffball again!Hello scarf friends, I haven't posted in months. The precious little newfy puppy we brought home in November turns out to have kidney disease and an antibiotic-resistent UTI and bladder infection likely worsened or made more likely by her kidney problems. Fortunately the kidney situation is mild and aside from making her prone to UTIs, it may not be that bad, we will see I suppose. We just need to get her UTI cured so it doesn't cause further damage. Because she's incontinent at times, we have not been able to get out much. Scarf and shawl wearing is on a bit of a hiatus. I've been following along here regularly and loving all of your beautiful treasures.
Sharing an archive shot of a beloved shawl which has a gogeous, strking border - Act III - and my Early America 90 which is a crossover from last week, featuring a rendition of hand cut papercraft in its border, and big fluffy dogs. We're so saddened and worried for our little Coco bear and hope she can make a full recovery and go on to live a relatively normal life.
Thank you all for making this place a beautiful one of support and respite. Sending much love

Ooh, that looks like Wild Singapore SE? Fabulous tie for it, too! 💚
I can see why this got complimented - it looks super on you, Tea!Off topic but I wanted to post a photo of this scarf because I got a nice compliment on it in one of my meetings this morning! I was happy to find that I could wear it with a patterned shirt that defies most scarf pairings. Indoor photo because it is not warm outside! View attachment 6120184

Oh, I love the golden frame. Such a cheerful touch to this gorgeous design. Here are two 140 silks-- one with a border we all love: Flowers of South Africa, which like other Ardmore Artists designs features a beautiful detailed border:

And one where the border creates a gold "frame" around the design: Acinonyx Jubatus.

Beautiful colors and clever tie to highlight the border.Hello,
Today one of my Annie Faivres, bought about 30 years ago. Les légendes de l'arbre with a green border.
I enjoy everbody's posts! 😍View attachment 6120013
Fabulous with your sweater and mirroring its graphic design. This was definitely multiple worthy. It is beyond cold here today. Jaguar et Colibri with its beautiful geometric border. Another design I could not resist and acquired multiples.

Beautiful and your happy 👯.I am wearing my Jardins de Nouvelle Angleterre today. It has a mildly contrasting hem, but one can’t see it the way I am wearing it.

yes, it is! And thank you!Ooh, that looks like Wild Singapore SE? Fabulous tie for it, too! 💚
So sad for you and your little bear. I know what it means to have a sick pet, it simply breaks your heart. I'm sure she has the most loving care and I really really hope she makes a full recovery! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. 💜Hello scarf friends, I haven't posted in months. An older fur belonging to my family was sadly not warm enough today, so I switched to a down jacket
Thank you @darkstar66And what a cool pattern mix!
Les Chats is a true grail I've hoped to acquire for a few years now. But pawprints - once I pick myself up from the floor after learning this I'm off to search some more @xincinsin! Your collection is beautiful!Last day of the last theme for 2024. I hope everyone in Scarflandia has had fun with our silks and cashmeres (and cotton!!!).
My last tale for 2024 has to do with surprise jacquards or the illusion of a jacquard. The Oscarf for Jacquard Greed goes to two scarves.
One of my early acquisitions was Le Tour du Monde en 80 Jours. It ticked all my boxes. About a year ago, @FizzyWater showed a pic of hers and pointed out a very faint background print of the number "80"
My ghast was flabbered! I checked mine. No background print!
No, there are no fakes involved. H, at the dawn of time, was not that strong on QC or standardisation. Scarf designs would often change when they were re-printed. Thank goodness we have our fab @turfnsurf and @marietouchet to help us with our vintage buys!
That 80 niggled at me and, in 2024, I finally found another Tour that has the faint 80. Will I keep both? I haven't decided yet.

The second jacquard tale is much the same. I bought a Les Chats, and @Living.la.vida.fifi asked me if it had pawprint jacquard.
It didn't, so I went on the hunt again. I found the jacquard version.
This is my original dark blue cw without pawprints, and two cws which do have the pawprints.

In Dec 2024, I found a version with coloured pawprints. This was my 2nd last purchase of the year. Did I need it? No. Did I want it? Yaaaas. Jacquard Greed...
It's still on the way to me...
