Thank you @AnnaE for such a sincere and heartfelt tribute to Diana, @scarf1. Condolences to you on the loss of your dear friend, and to Diana's husband, Joel. Gentle hugs to all who grieve.Jul 13 - Blue Week!
Hi scarf friends! As many of you know, @scarf1 (Diana) has passed away last Sunday. She was a dear friend to many of us here, and we initially bonded with her through her love of scarves.
This was supposed to be yellow week, but in Diana’s memory, we are making it blue week.
Diana was a scarfie (a scarfhead as her husband Joel calls us) to the end. In her final days, I was privileged to spend some time with her gossiping about scarves and discussing the upcoming scarf season. I am so sad she didn’t make it to the scarves hitting the scores here in California. She was also opining on the best colorways for other friends with Joel’s help.
Diana also really loved the color blue. She was more dedicated to the color blue than I am to the color red (seems impossible, I know). While helping Joel to look over collection, I discovered some that seemed out of characters (yellow?! Pink?!). Turns out, those were Joel’s choices (she loved shopping together!). All of hers were always blue! That’s just the color to which she always navigated.
Joel passed on a few of Diana’s scarves to me, and I am honored to be wearing one of them today: Maurice Tranchant’s Pavement. I am also wearing Diana’s bangle.

As Diana was diagnosed and treated, many of us realized that what we had created are real connections and real friendships. I think even Diana was surprised to find out how virtual friendships have grown into real ones, with people really caring about each other, celebrating life’s successes, supporting each other during tough times and being heartbroken when one of us is no longer there.
I want to take this week to not only celebrate Diana’s memory, but also celebrate the friendships we create here. I know many here become friends, sometimes virtually and sometimes in person, and that’s truly wonderful. Please join me in honoring Diana and celebrating our community.
Wow. I am sitting here trying to figure out why I didn’t get this colorway. One of my favorite things about scarves is how you can rediscover them! I’d really cooled on 70s lately, and this one in particular I was thinking I needed to let go bc I don’t seem to reach for it as much.
Turns out I just needed to do better styling! Jungle Love Stamped today.

I have always adored your GTN and love the new addition. What a great streak to have worn one every single day.My favourite format has always been the 140 cashmere. It was the first scarf I bought from Hermès, and I have worn one every single day since.
I find them soft, warm and comfortable. They brighten up my wardrobe and are so versatile. I live in Belgium so even in the summer, I wear them over light summer clothes, chilly evenings, on the AC train/in AC office, and even on the beach.
Lately I have been loving the giant triangles a lot too, but that is for another post.

Very happy to see that you’ve kept Cheval de Coeur. It is beautiful, as is GTN which we are twins on.My favourite format has always been the 140 cashmere. It was the first scarf I bought from Hermès, and I have worn one every single day since.

Stunning FoSA and thank you for tickling us with your gorgeous knots.Another thing I love about a 90: a bodacious border! Flowers of South Africa is a great example:

Once I learned to tie scarves (my Pandemic Project), I discovered so many great options. Of course, there is nothing new about using a scarf as a belt, but a bias fold can be used to emphasize colors, designs or corners. In this case, I wanted to show mostly the wonderful blues!
FoSA as a belt with Etrivier scarf ring (and clearly I need longer arms for this kind of mod shot!)

A great tie to show off the border is one I learned on TPF: the "Angel Wing Knot"

And when there is as much border as FoSA has, even an Asymmetrical Knot can let it shine:

Thank you for indulging my silk "border crossings" this morning!
Haha bending nature to your will is quite a feat. Lovely pops of yellow!Well, here I am bothering these sunflowers because I wanted to grab a photo by some yellow flowers to coordinate with my scarf. The lighting didn’t work when I tried to take the photo in front of the flowers, hence the gentle twist. And these sunflowers don’t owe me anything because they sowed themselves! 😆View attachment 6204768
Wonderful! I find it easier to tie the bova knots on a surface and then wear the scarf. I struggle to tie it well on myself.Hello, I made it! (Bova is not my strong point, sometimes I am successful, and sometimes not. 🫣).With my new Séléné and doesn't the Missoni skirt coordinate really beautifully?View attachment 6204775View attachment 6204776
Stunning! I must dust off my sister and wear it soon. One of my favorite things about scarves is how you can rediscover them! I’d really cooled on 70s lately, and this one in particular I was thinking I needed to let go bc I don’t seem to reach for it as much.

Well done on your knot and enjoy the green stillness of your cabin.Good evening!
Apologies for dropping in infrequently these weeks as I am relaxing in the cabin in the wilderness (aka a deliberately overgrown garden) without many scarves and even less clothes to match.
But I must repeat the choir of 90 carré love. 95% of my scarves are 90x90, though I have come to love the 140 and 100 cashmeres lately. 90 are versatile, and as I am not a petite lady The smaller formats are difficult to wear properly I think. But the 90s are just enough silk to wear in both big and smaller ways.
I am happy to try the new (to me) version of bova knot which @LKBNOLA and @darkstar66 have just demonstrated with my sotd Kachinas for a trip to the local village before the rainstorm hit us.

Also sharing a snapshot from the grounds. My main function in the cabin is to keep everyone fed - including the songbirds. No bird will go hungry to nest tonight. And only a few mice and squirrels have been observed at the buffet

Lovely Carnaval des Animaux @Jacq1. I agree that the sheen is what makes the carre special.Thank you to @Cookiefiend for hosting this thought provoking theme week.
I am starting with a 90 carré - this format and my SOTD were my first H, my first love so to speak.

Recently, I am feeling quite satisfied with my selection of 90s (although of course there are still some grails to hunt and new temptations to ponder with every new season)
I do think the 90 silk is the most elegant format and I feel like many designs look the best in a 90 with the beautiful silk twill sheen that other formats lack..
Hello silveredwings4, why don't you give it a try at a boutique, if you can. There are more muted cw and it ties really well with many possibilities to show different parts of the design.Love this outfit! Im loving seeing the Selene on everyone, it’s not one that I think I would be able to wear but I absolutely love the artwork and the colors on everyone else!
I love this wilderness, HermesEchidna, this is so so precious for biodiversity, and thank you for contributing, we can't do enough as so many people are intentionally or not ignoring it.Good evening!

Unfortunately my nearest boutique is 2.5 hours away so it’s not easy to swing by. Between the colorways and the fauna patterns it’s not quite my style to wear. What a perfect silk to honor your little boarding guest. Glad he found his way home!Hello and good morning,
I'd like to share an little story with you today which might warm your hearts in these days full of disaster and misery.
About 3 weeks ago, a black beauty turned up in our garden and then under our pergola. He looked for food and milk and devoured everything he found. Then we went on a journey for 1 week. When we returned, he was still there and, after having been very shy and passing like a flash in the first days, he became more and more confiding to the point that he wanted absolutely to enter the house (we did not let him at first). Of course we thought at this point that there were new neighbours with a cat. Then, after our return, we saw that he still demanded food and milk and devoured it at great speed. The past weekend we lounged under the pergola and finally saw that he had difficulties to walk. I decided to call my friend at the animal shelter Monday morning and in the evening she had found out that our beauty was not a stray cat but a missing one who had fallen off a window sill in the second floor of a building at perhaps 500 m air-line distance from us. As he was an appartement cat and traumatized he just ran away up the hill until our neighbourhood. He's now safely back at his proprietor's who weeped when he saw him again, he had thought he had lost him forever. The cherry on the cake: I had named him Blacky and whenever I called him, he came immediately, which intrigued my quite a bit. His true name is Secchi, and he just thought perhaps that I had a strange accent. 😁 Although I'm very happy for him, I miss our little boarder and in his "honour" I wear Tigre Royal today.View attachment 6205091View attachment 6205090View attachment 6205087View attachment 6205082View attachment 6205085

Oh dear @darkstar66 😍 As a fellow cat lover this makes me really happy! And I loved your scarves with the bova knot! I bookmarked your post and this morning I tried to tie my scarf this way for the first time! Because your photo made me understand how to tie it! 👍 My old Kachinas, obviously in the same mood with @HermesEchidna 😂 I‘ll take a photo later 😉Hello and good morning,
