@Maedi, congratulations on a successful hunt! This is beautiful, the florals really do seem to float on the lovely center field and the red border adds a happy pop! I remember bookmarking @Jacq1's photo also, as the the design. was not familiar... What a great addition for you, with symbolic and sentimental resonance.

I am always happy to hear my mod shots and pics bring a smile -- and even some enablement :graucho: @Katharina Luise! ICan't wait to see what you added while on hiatus. I was lucky with the blue Fleuve-- the size was not clear-- I think others thought it was a 90 and passed it by, even though the condition was excellent and the price very "friendly" as they say...

Thank you @Karenska! And I think sunglasses -- especially if oversized--are a sure way to add some glam (or at least hide a multitude of not-so-glam reality!). You are looking very casually chic in Bouquets Sellier and I hope the party was fun!

Thank you so much! The KeP was my first 140 silk-- so it has a special place in my 🧡 @Croisette7. Love yours-- especially the steely grey one you showed recently.
Thank you, Lkb. I also had on a tan cashmere collarless cardigan but it was so warm in the restaurant, I had to shed it. Wish I had it on for the photo.

I love my Hermes design borders! Here we go! First the pieces that I thought of right off the top of my head, and then the pieces I found as I visited my scarves this morning! Of course, I immediately thought of Aline Honore. Annie Faivre, and the Ardmore Artists, so I will start with some of their designs.

The next shawls were other pieces I thought of immediately, Le Jaguar de et Colibri and Colliers de Chien. The later was my first slip down the slope of buying multiple color ways of a shawl with a great border! After climbing back up that slope I slipped down a few years later BUT with just two designs, AF's Maharajas, and more recently Jaguar.

Last but not least, what I found today as I visited my scarves, after all what else does one do when they are hunkered down waiting for the snow to start? All are 35 inches and twills, except the last which is c/s: Charmes des Plages Normandes, Sous le Cadre, Turandot, Les Jardins d'Andalousie, Axis Mundi and Tapis Volant.

Welcome to @Karenska and a week of enjoying the hems and borders of our beautiful scarves. Following your lead I thought about the hems of my scarves. I came to realize that if a scarf has a red contrast hem then it is bound to be a favorite.

One of my earliest purchases with a red hem was Act III, Scene I, La Clairiere

Hermes Odyssey losange wouldn't be the same without its red hem

Today it is a very cold -13 F (that's -25 C) and I'm happy that my recent order of new wool sweaters has arrived in the mail. This warm top pairs nicely with my Voitures en Equilibre shawl with its red hem.

Greetings, dear Scarfies, and welcome to our third theme of the year! Many thank to @HermesEchidna for hosting Clever Hands and @bunnycat for hosting Fresh Start to begin the New Year 2025. Now that we are here, let’s celebrate one of the truly wonderful aspects of the Hermès
scarf, the beautiful edges that adorn so many designs.

Hems, Borders, Fringes: Beautiful Edges

Today Hems. The Hermès hem is a thing of beauty. Hemmed from back to front, it is handstitched evenly, round and plump and it is never ironed flat.

Two newer scarves.

Look how beautifully the hems are on this much older one, Axis Mundi.

And even vintage scarves can retain their plump hems if cared for properly. My two oldest scarves, L’Hiver and La Comedie Italienne.

Hermès also produces scarves with gorgeous accent colored hems and striped hems. More on those later!

Throughout the week we’ll examining and be showing off the finishing touches of these amazing designs. Please show us yours and any scarf you are wearing, on theme or off, is welcome!

Fabulous selection of beauties to start off this week's theme, two of which have been on my wish list for some time, patience is a virtue!

Congrats on the new in! That’s a very versatile and elegant colorway. Glad it worked out given that there was no return option!
Oh wow that PdM 😍 that might have just been added to my list. And that blue fur coat!!! I am besotted.
Thank you @Jereni! Yes,, definitely a phew moment with that Ors Bleu. 😥 And I think you would love that soft pink/orange and grey PdM! The blue faux fur was a Holiday Gift Bazaar purchase at my DD'd workplace-- it is warm, pretty cute and scarf friendly...
Thank you @Jereni-- yes definitely a Yes, very dramatic and so pretty! I love how you tied PP.
Thank you so much @Karenska-- just an Edot knot to showcase that red hem!

Wowza-- these are beautiful examples!!! You are making me wish I was not away from my scarves temporarily so I could do a similar visit! Love your Tapis Volant, Sous le Cedre and well...any of these I am not your twin or sister on @vildachya -- stay warm!!!

A gorgeous collex of red hems @Redbirdhermes! I have been very grateful for warm sweaters this winter also. 🥶
Jardin de la Maharani was the first design I thought of, love the animals running around the border.
Yes!! Exactly @orchard-- and here not only a vibrant contrast hem but that fabulous border as well!

Sorry for the long multi-quote…

Wow how absolutely glorious!!! The shading and the textures are divine, congrats!

Beautiful scarf of course but I also love the texture of your sweater, it’s amazing.

Oh congrats!!! I love this cw of this shawl, I came close to getting it back when it came out. Looks gorgeous on you!

Hello Jereni, thank you so much for your nice compliments! And yes, I made the sweaters, but if you knit them, you never really know how they will come out. 😬 These two are the type "rather successful".😁

Sort of twinning with you today @Redbirdhermes! Pulled out Voitures en Equilibre. We have a cold weather warning here as well. 😅

Lovely, dear karenska. And a resuscitated hem is always rewarding!

Not on theme, but here is today's scarf. A moussie - my most duplicated design within my collection - Peuple du Vent. Thanks to @bunnycat for the inspiration!
