Ooh, I think that’s Faubourg by Night in the lovely turquoise! I bought it in the flat version and it was somehow too bright for me, but I love the plisee variant!
It is! It might have been you who inspired me then. I have been hunting for a Plissé for a while and this one has the perfect colors so that the design part getting lost in the folds did not bother me as much as with other plissés…

Oh mi - this makes me very covetous … I feel like it’s the first time I’ve thought to myself about this design ‘Why don’t I have this!! Need!’ Gorgeous Snausages!

Annnndddd more smacking myself in the noggin - this is Fabulous!

Ooooooo - lovely!

So marvelous with that purple hem - love!

It is lovely!
While I often say that pink is my favorite color - I wear a lot of blue!

Stunning Pirula - each picture is gorgeous!

Beautiful - I’m glad you’re keeping it - it was made for you!

Thank you so much Croisette!

:faint:
Gorgeous!

She did indeed like the 70’s! And these are all lovely - I also didn’t know that that was JL Clerc’s wife - how cool is that?
And - puppies! Coco sends smooches!
You look great in blue and in pink - a feat not many can pull off!
Nice pattern-matching! Which design is this?
Fizzy water already figured it out - it is Faubourg by night
Beautiful plisse and perfect with your top!
Green was one of Diana’s favorite colors too - so you are also perfectly on theme!
Thank you!

Thank you! It’s a favourite ;)

Thank you! Congrats on the Lettres!

It was a UK SE for the Cancer Trust, I think? I just tried googling to check, but of course all the results are showing the new release.

Thank you dear ‘Nola. Coming from you, that’s a compliment indeed. I shall tell MrBelle - it was the first one he chose for me himself, and he will be delighted to hear it!

Thanks also for the insight into the vintage silk. I love the robustness of regular twill and have talked myself out of a couple of 70s in the vintage silk because of the softer hand and my reluctance to deal with the creasing. Steaming sounds like a good solution.
I add sizing because the 70s are too floppy for me.

I actually invested in a Rowenta steam station, which is an iron and a steamer in one, and it make ironing scarves SO easy. (Not sponsored I promise!!!)

Jul 13 - Blue Week!

Hi scarf friends! As many of you know, @scarf1 (Diana) has passed away last Sunday. She was a dear friend to many of us here, and we initially bonded with her through her love of scarves.

This was supposed to be yellow week, but in Diana’s memory, we are making it blue week.

Diana was a scarfie (a scarfhead as her husband Joel calls us) to the end. In her final days, I was privileged to spend some time with her gossiping about scarves and discussing the upcoming scarf season. I am so sad she didn’t make it to the scarves hitting the scores here in California. She was also opining on the best colorways for other friends with Joel’s help.

Diana also really loved the color blue. She was more dedicated to the color blue than I am to the color red (seems impossible, I know). While helping Joel to look over collection, I discovered some that seemed out of characters (yellow?! Pink?!). Turns out, those were Joel’s choices (she loved shopping together!). All of hers were always blue! That’s just the color to which she always navigated.

Joel passed on a few of Diana’s scarves to me, and I am honored to be wearing one of them today: Maurice Tranchant’s Pavement. I am also wearing Diana’s bangle.

As Diana was diagnosed and treated, many of us realized that what we had created are real connections and real friendships. I think even Diana was surprised to find out how virtual friendships have grown into real ones, with people really caring about each other, celebrating life’s successes, supporting each other during tough times and being heartbroken when one of us is no longer there.

I want to take this week to not only celebrate Diana’s memory, but also celebrate the friendships we create here. I know many here become friends, sometimes virtually and sometimes in person, and that’s truly wonderful. Please join me in honoring Diana and celebrating our community.
Good morning, dear "Scarfies",

I wish to express my condolences to Diana's familiy and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her personally.
Ladies, you are the best. If you are looking for warmth, kindness and goodwill, you will find it here. I did not know Diana (unfortunately), but I am equally deeply touched and somehow also delighted by such a wonderful response to such a valued scarf lover, who so beautifully shared her treasures and scarf-tying skills with all of us here. Thanks @AnnaE.

Thanks to you all, dear ‘Scarfies’, not only for sharing your treasures, but also for letting me be a part of it.:flowers:
Here is my small contribution: Couvertures et tenues de jour Hermès Soie Bleu 140 cm.

My dear darkstar,

How sweet of you. Thank you. :hbeat:
Is there a nicer medicine than this wonderful thread with all the eye candy and even interesting information about the background, history, art and culture on top and everybody - without mischief or jealousy sharing this passion and with compassion, even for the personal life and challenges of members, too? And you also spoil us with your beautiful photos and lovely scarves and kind words - thank you for that too.
Love

... And to stay on topic, here's what I wore this week... (Blue scarves is rather a bit easy for me... got quite a few, :giggle:).

Dear Anna and scarfies, I’m so sorry to read this news about Diana’s passing. I’ll reach out to you privately as well.

As OG scarfies, Diana shared her passion for blue, mousselines and silks for as long as I remember, dating back to my first days of collecting in 2007. She was already a scarf collector and a member here before my joining. We would run into each other at our boutique during our separate appointments with our SA’s when new season offerings were in the store. She was lovely in person, and treasured her scarves as well as very keen on what she liked.

We once had a very interesting discussion about blues. In the early days of my choosing scarves I somehow ended up choosing blue so frequently that we both would be interested in the same designs. She remarked that while both of our complexions were different, both of us were harmonious in complexion and spirit with blues. Though she never wavered from her passion for blue for herself, she complimented my choices for white background and colorful silks:)😉

On another visit, she asked how I could wear so many colors and I told her that
I felt I was missing out on the many beautiful color combinations so pushed myself to just enjoy the scarves for their artistry (sparking joy, lol) try wearing different colors, moving toward a more diverse palette of colors, by wearing basic white or black tops, and striped shirts to pull off other colors and patterns. I think she delighted in the thought of wearing stripes with patterned silks.

Here are a few that were favorites:

Parures des Samourais had us both trying to decide which blue version to purchase. Diana chose the blue and white, I chose the blue/violet and the blue/navy, PLUs the pink/turquoise and anise green. I know she loved her PdS shawl. And I so admired that she could decide on just one!

Lastly, a tribute photo and couple of quotes for our lovely blue loving friend:

"Smell the sea and feel the sky, Let your soul and spirit fly." - Van Morrison

"The blue of the sky is one of the most special colors in the world, because the color is deep but see-through both at the same time." — Cynthia Kadohata
