Another one of Diana’s scarves today: Le Voyage de Pythéas. She loved travel, and she also loved all the sea creatures on it!
Wearing my newest darling with another pattern on pattern mix today - I am getting braver about these. Teal in my mind is a mix of blue and green, so I am still at least theme adjacent

I've been MIA for a while (life, and trying to avoid the temptation, from all the eye-candy shared here). But, I simply had to share this long-coveted grail-mail I just received, as I knew (only) you would get my exitement!
Parures de Samouraïs in Marine/Rose/Bleu Glacier, NWT and only slightly above retail. Very quick try-on, as it's way to hot for scarves here today, but it is simply the most beautiful scarf I have ever seen, and I am soo happy to finally have this!

Every country or nation has momentous historical events to celebrate. And I'm sure H has an appropriate scarf or scarves for such occasions. Pretty sure too that many of us can find birds representative of our country or find feathers incorporated into our festive regalia.
When I was young, I loved the peacock feathers that were part of festive decor for Diwali and other Indian festivals. So here's another peacock from a recent acquisition, appropriately in (mostly) blue, red and white. And greetings from the lion next to it, symbol of my country

Emile et Une Nuit has many feathery denizens in its design. And that magnificent bird next to the giraffe was one of the reasons why I decided to buy this scarf.

Dear scarfies, it popped up after several months at a local reseller for half retail. Like I could say No? Carnaval des Oiseaux, come to my grabby hands! As you can see, I am still not good at dealing with 140 worth of silk.

A Coup de coeur now. I found this necktie on the bay and the material looked like scarf silk. That eagle was irresistable with its talons and wingsweep. Worn here with another tie in similar cw: Parade. I'm still hoping one day to find which RTW or scarf has this wonderful bird of prey.

I'd like to recount a feathery titbit from SOTD history now. When I first found this lovely community, the scarf mistress (the amazing ABQ2ATL) was fond of giving scarf quizzes. One scarfie @Bostonjetset joined in the fun and gave us this mystery picture which everyone found familiar but the name of the scarf remained just out of reachCan you identify it? Bonne chance!

Ooh, I think that’s Faubourg by Night in the lovely turquoise! I bought it in the flat version and it was somehow too bright for me, but I love the plisee variant!
I don’t wear many scarves in the hot months, but giving an archive pic in honor of Diana. A blue Zouaves bandana, enabled by @LKBNOLA. It is my favorite blue in my 140’s.
@redheaddem I am also commenting here about your rose Coeur on the seasonal. I love it! And love it on you! I never thought I’d get a 140 bandana due to same cost for much less expense by H to produce, as well as not thinking I would have a use for it, kind of feeling it lacked enough interest for price tag with a one dimensional design thing to it. But boy was I wrong. When you find the perfect right base color in a bandana you will wear it all the time. To the grocery store in yoga clothes or sweats, to kids sports games, thrown on for the pub, wherever we live our lives with that casually thrown on under our face putting on a glow or brightening. And that’s whether a 55/70/80/90/140. They all do that same thing. An all rose base 140 is chefs kiss. And They may never do another rose cashmere base. So I’ll be getting one too. Hope it makes me glow like on you!
Andddd maybe I’m full of it and maybe this beautiful warm Rose will be like Rose bonbon where we will now see it allllllllll the time

Two beautiful blues and more to the point, they are beautiful on you @Lellabelle. You and that bleu foncé are always linked in my mind...Thank you for the good wishes-- we made it! I do find the vintage silks often need a steaming depending on the tie. I've heard some people add sizing to give more "body" but I like the soft hand of the vintage and don't mind steaming them so...
This made me smile @Redbirdhermes . We have a big cabinet full of board games and classic games and even my most device-devoted grandkids can be found on a rainy afternoon or a late summer day setting up to play. Bookmarking this post...

Thanks also for the insight into the vintage silk. I love the robustness of regular twill and have talked myself out of a couple of 70s in the vintage silk because of the softer hand and my reluctance to deal with the creasing. Steaming sounds like a good solution.
