Very flattering on you, Redbird!❤️I rarely wear black, but here is an archive photo of one of my black-on-black outfits. The scarf is La Mare aux Canards.

But for today, I am going for a bright color with a white contrast. Introducing, Please Hold the Line worn with a bright green top as my scarf of the day. @Karenska, I think this combo would work great with a black top as well.

So cute ... perfectissimo!❤️Hello again,
Please excuse me for flooding you with a second post, but this morning was the ideal moment to introduce my 72 years old colourful French birds to their 10 years old black and white and somewhat stick-like Italian offsprings. 😂 And I promise you: no post tomorrow! 🫣View attachment 6192573View attachment 6192574

Oh yay, @SilkCashmereCotton! You have Le Triomphe du Paladin in another color way? I would love to see it! The border on my version is a delicious cross between purple and blue, but leans a little more purple to my eye - so maybe Violet? There is some periwinkle in the center of the scarf. I will have to check out T Kingfisher’s Paladin Series! I’m afraid everything I have lined up for summer reading is nonfiction. Where’s the fun in that?Oh how fantastic, @CedarWaxWing! Is that periwinkle for the border, I hadn't seen this colorway yet. Just marvelous combined with your berry sweater.
Although I read this scarf is to do with Charlemagne's crusaders, this design captured my imagination as I have recently been turned on to T Kingfisher's books, and just finished the Paladin series. This meant that, naturally, I had to add one to my collection recently as well. Mine has a navy border and a caramel and chocolate interior with pops of jewel greens.
@GloWW0rM Fabulous on you! It’s been too hot to wear scarves this week so I’m sharing one of my favourite scarves (archive): Le Potager Extraordinaire with a contrast colour. Please, weather, cool down so I can wear this beauty again.

Today was a really good day! I logged a personal best in 50m sprint at the pool, where I encountered a friend who decided to get back into swimming having been inspired by my social media posts about my swimming progress and my hopes that someone who was thinking about swimming would give it a try for its phenomenal health benefits.
They did! That was so rewarding. Incredible pep in my step to start the day, and then my DD went out to lunch with me at a swanky place I know she doesn't care for but she knows I adore all because I must have said the right thing at the right time. Teenagers can be a challenge. At lunch we got to really, really talk and it was just the best icing on the cake of a wonderful day.
And I got to wear this 70 before it gets too hot for the summer. Rendez-vous Gallant, which I picked because of the pairs of animals / lovers and the MONKEYS! So adorable. Taking it off, I noticed the sweetest detail -- above where the brand appears is a little arrow heart carved into the tree trunk.
And then next to it, one of the only animals on the scarf that doesn't have a pair. So strange. Maybe its pair is the cat on the opposing side, maybe a little game of cat and mouse, foes not friends. I would love to know the artist's inspiration for those two not being paired off. Well with feathers like that hanging off its apparent ears, it got my attention! Having no idea about this bird, I googled to learn more, and woah boy! This bird is out of this world. It's called a King of Saxony bird of paradise and those feathers are totally that long and articulated and look simultaneously super fragile and strong AF with the way it whips them around in its mating display. This bird resides in Papua New Guinea and if you're brave enough to hear its call, prepare yourself for what seems like a rendez-vous with some space alien! That is exactly what this bird sounds like.
Best comment: Are we sure this bird isn't an alien?
Kind of makes one wonder!

@LKBNOLA Its interesting that you’re finding some of your new-in scarves in vintage or antique shops! That sounds much more gratifying than finding one online. Congratulations on your Space Shopping 90 in such great colors, and I especially like how you paired your Noir Flowers 70 with the bright pink dress.Well our dear Scarf Mistress @Karenska was encouraging color pairings with black and I aim to please! Here is my new scarf mail-- I am so thrilled to have found this particular cw of Space Shopping au Faubourg. Recently I have found some of my wish list items not at the usual resellers but at vintage or antique shops. They do not have a great deal of inventory but occasionally luck and availability coincide at a fair price. My SOTD for meeting a dear friend of long years for lunch-- she is just off the plane from Paris and Florence and now here for her annual family reunion! I can't wait to hear all her news.

And here are two recent mod shots also featuring black: I Like Flowers 70 with a eye-popping pink linen dress and a pretty turquoise Carrosserie on a black top. I know @Karenska is also a big fan of Ledoux!

Oh, thank you. Yes I see @Teaforparrots and that extra ring is such a good idea!Honestly I think it’s just the most basic possible approach?View attachment 6192551
Thank you @Croisette7-- it was a pretty cw! And the Carrosserie is so pretty. I owe it to a tv show! That was a first...Sorry, no more available, it's gone.🥲
So pretty! ... the Carrosserie is tdf!
This could not be more perfect pattern mixing @darkstar66! And please never apologize for additional posts-- if we had to do that we would all be in trouble! It's a question of "more is more" around here!Hello again,

Thank you and congratulations on your anniversary and your city Pride celebration @CedarWaxWing ! Thank you for the compliment. My love affair with this Carrosserie is entirely due to the Black Swans show about Truman Capote! I saw this on the character who plays Babe Paley and I did not rest until it was mine! She had it spread under her head on her analyst's pillow and I thought it was Hermès. Some sleuthing and voilà. Not tomention that we should all carry a scarf around in case we need to shield out hair from a strange pillow....@LKBNOLA Its interesting that you’re finding some of your new-in scarves in vintage or antique shops! I’ve never seen that Ledoux before and it looks as vintage as they come. I’ll have to look it up later - I’ve left my scarf reference books up on the island while we do a week here in the city for Pride and our anniversary before heading back up. Enjoy your rendezvous with your longtime friend!
Perfect!!I always love a contrast-y look with teal, black, and orange. Tohu Bohu today. Supposedly the last day (for now) of this heat dome!

I didn’t know the theme, but I am on theme, yay. Wore an enhancer on a twilly today. I opened the box today thinking I bought a scarf ring. I was bummed there was no ring on the back, but it can still be used obviously, and fun.

I don’t know where to begin. I love everything in this post! The pink cles pareo is awesome. The best colors. Bright and pretty. And awesome tie and charm on your twilly. I must bookmark to do this in future. A very classic color combination in it. And the picnic scarf! This has me regretting not getting one. The colors are so bright and fun. And I LOVE the last cascading tie with it. Is it @Cookiefiend’s signature tie? I must remember this tie too ha. And well, c’mon, the earringsAttempting a bit of contrast with my outfit today. Monotone gray with a pop of pink from a cotton Les Clés. I chose some tourmalated quartz jewelry to try to keep that monotone-ish too.

Such a joyful summer vibe. Whenever I wear it, it only seems right to pair it with these fruit earrings I found on etsy. 🍊🍌
