I have the dark blue one, but yours is just delicious.
Those colours are beautiful @Croisette7 . So happy and springy
Double face, well-priced, from a beloved designer? Check, check and check, rules be d*mned! 😂. “Anything Alice” should be one of my rules to supersede other rules - it’s an ‘over-rule’ situation!
I feel the exact same way @Jereni ! I don’t know why I find this one tricky - some of the peachy apricot tones are tough for me and there’s a lot of blank space, as you say. I love the rainbow fan lantern, and always try to feature it, which limits my styling further.
I probably should have gone for the black and pink one that I really wanted, but I got a great deal on mine and that, along with availability, was what sealed the choice. I should probably CCP it at some stage, but I do enjoy it when I wear it. It’s different from anything else I have.
Thank you @Agrume. It’s a tricky scarf for me, but when it works, it works!
Lol, I cannot take credit for “scarfluence”, (which originated in the SOTD thread, somewhere). It’s a wonderful word though, and deserving of a place in our scarfie lexicon 👍
This is a design I don’t (yet) have, mainly because it breaks a couple of rules for me - the scale is wrong for me, the design elements give some weird associations (fleshy tentacles, anyone?!) and the CWs in the 90 are mostly not well suited for me. But every time you post this gav pair, I am sorely tempted! You style them so well and they look amazing on you!
I could break all those rules for these little cuties, except I also have an unwritten rule for gavs too, I suppose, in that I never buy them. Adorable though they are, I prefer having more silk to play with!
Such a perfect Spring palette. It looks lovely on you @Croisette7
So happy for you @Jereni - to have finally found your green! And very lovely it is on you, too 👍. Laughing at the “Confessions” reference![]()
Thank you all for your nice comments darkstar, redheaddem, Lellabelle, CoastalCouture!@HermesEchidna, love your Douze Leopards! Beautiful on a spring day. Love your painted tootsies, too! I also made the leap to painted toes this week; alas mine are not nearly as camera ready as yours.

@Jereni your Cheval Fusion is stunning! Once upon a time, I owned the dark blue one. Love this on you!
@Teaforparrots, You rock the dreaded tablecloth with your yellow linen dress! I really love this look.
@Redbirdhermes This is a very nice look for you! I tend to shy away from white backgrounds but, this definitely works. Very nice.
@AnnaE I love this on you! So much colour.
Thank you Agrume!Thank you, CoastalCulture!

So cute, Croisette, these bonbon colours!
Congrats with this gorgeous green, Jereni!
This yellow jacket looks surprisingly well with Sarasa, and it fits your daffodils!
Looks well with your lipstick, AnnaE! 💄
More happy colours! It’s a beautiful design, and those yellow stars are just perfect, RBH! 🌟
Twins!SOTD was Della Cavalleria, as an equestrian design a rule breaker, but the colours, especially the blues, made me buy it nevertheless.

Thanks - for full disclosure: I had my prof person at ‘skønne fødder’ (Danish for Fabulous Feet) do it. I cant reach my feet for the stretch of time it takes 😜@HermesEchidna, love your Douze Leopards! Beautiful on a spring day. Love your painted tootsies, too! Congrats!!! What a gorgeous green!!!!!Some of you have possibly heard me pontificate before about being on the hunt for the ultimate green scarf, and bemoaning my first world problems that Hermes does not seem to do many green colorways. At least in the emerald greens that I so admire.
Well, it has happened! This popped up on TRR for a good price and then went on sale to boot and I crossed my fingers and took the plunge, hoping the pics were true to life.
And - victory at last! This green could NOT be more perfect. This pic is actually making it look a little more bright than it is - it is a rich, deep, vivid green with just the right amount of leaning blue (vs yellow). It breaks my rules as it’s a two color scarf but the entire point was GREEN GREEN GREEN so frankly it could have been a solid color and I’d be over the moon.
Cheval Fusion!

And now I can merrily live out my fantasy of being the girl in the green scarf ala Confessions of a Shopaholic lol.

Croisette, Thank you. I bought the necklace while abroad few years ago and it was in form of a big bracelet!! I couldn’t find a necklace that was big enough for my taste so I asked them to turn this bracelet it into a necklace and they did it in a day.Congratulations Helena! I do hope you like it as much as I do.
The garnet necklace is the cherry on top!
Thank you, dear Redheaddem ❤️Congratulations, it is beautiful! I love those soft caramel tones, and it looks beautiful on you to. Nice styling with your jacket, you have the best jackets too ☺️
CoastalCouture, thank you! We need to make sure we’re not wearing the same scarf when we finally meet in some lovely cafe 😂😂❤️@Helena7 Twins with you on this All’Orto Botanico! Love that secret pink hem. Have a wonderful holiday!
@Redbirdhermes I remember that week. I'm ready for it now!
Thank you, dear KarenskaSuch a grand cw and I love your pendant, @Helena7 .
I love this on You, dear JereniThis Brazil Detail is a bit of a rule breaker, as it has very prominent borders. But I love the borders (even tho I am hiding them here).

Dear Karenska, I never noticed Jan w his dog in that window. Twins! I love It with your jean jacket, thanks for the idea. I rarely wear this scarf and it’s one of my dearest designs I own. This is so gorgeous, @Lellabelle, and thank you for hosting a beautiful week last week. Have not been able to participate this week at all, but many thanks to @xincinsin for hosting rainbow week, too.

What a great score, FA! Yes, that red is beautiful on you. Please, do share w us where you find your precious ones.I’ve long admired the various EleK here without finding a fitting cw for me
A beautiful modeling photo by @Jereni convinced me that this was the one. The fact that it practically landed on my lap at below retail (I’ll tell the story another time) helped!
The scarf is gorgeous but that shade of blue does not agree with me, so I am not putting it near my face, which gives the opportunity to showcase the beautiful red for today’s theme.

gorgeous on you, EtsyBossThank you for your thoughtful introduction on rules or no rules for expanding our collection @Agrume. Today I'll offer up a new-in and crossover theme scarf - This Grand Prix du Faubourg by Ugo Gattoni. It represents V for VIOLET in our progression through the ROYGBIV rainbow.

It is one of those scarves that made me question the potential purchase when I spotted it. I already had the pink one and didn't really need another colorway but the prices on the secondary market are sky high for a lot of Ugo Gattoni designs and this one in particular. The price was extremely favorable (about retail) and the condition was amazing (excellent, near mint). Plus, it checked another GO box: fills a void. And, finally, I thought it would look good on me. I draw a line on those designs and colorways that I don't think will be good on my complexion or fit with my style. It was also returnable if it turned out any of those 'go' markers was wrong.
GO rules met:
1) fills a void
2) highly prized design from a favored artist (Dallet, Shirley, Gattoni, KO)
3) price / value to condition ratio unusually good
4) good chance it will actually look good on me (definition of 'good' subject to mood and distance from Ban Island, lol)
5) returnable at no cost

We agree, dear Redheaddem. You look stylish and comfortable. Hiking and especially on the beach is the best. I grew up by the sea and I’m the happiest when I feel it close, especially the fresh marine air. ❤️My most important rule is to buy only pieces I really really adore and will actually wear.
I prefer:
- colourful (warm) base colours
- designs that really speak to me
- colourful or contrasting or black hems
I tend to avoid
- large borders
- white hems
- natural or grey chine base colours
- extremely classic or extremely cartoonish designs.
I absolutely love cashmere, both the 140 and triangle, and prioritise those because I wear them the most.
I especially love the triangle format for its versatility. They are easy to style for work and casual occasions, and always come in handy.
I love wearing mine close around my neck, but today we walked for hours on the beach and the wind started to hurt my ears, so I tied a bias folded triangle around my head and knotted it in my neck. Warm, comfortable and stylish (or so I tell myself 🤣)

That’s great, AnnaE. 😍BeautifulI don’t necessarily have rules for buying scarves. I buy what I like. And I like most of them!

Jereni, Cheval is stunning on you. 🙌😍My scarf rules have certainly evolved since I started all this but have stabilized of late.
I typically avoid:
- Large borders, esp white
- Super vif colors - they compete too much with my coloring / make my hair look dull, etc.
- Scarves with lots of blank space - ESPECIALLY when there is an intricate middle, then blank space around it… BdG BdG BdG BdG…
- ^Related, designs that are particularly unbalanced in some way. Drives me nuts when there’s like one corner that’s strangely blank and I have to avoid it.
- Playful, cartoony designs in very playful colorways. I always like these in theory but they tend to make me feel like I’m wearing nursery room wallpaper.
- Scarves with only two colors. This may be weird, but I just like being able to pair a scarf with more than 2 colors in my wardrobe, otherwise it can feel kind of limiting.
- Classic, equestrian designs (usually)
My ‘Go’ rules:
- It’s one of my grails!
- It’s an Alice Shirley or Annie Faivre in a flattering cw.
- Evenly distributed pattern that’s not too big or too small.
- Jewel tone, emerald-y greens - resistance is fairly futile! Good thing there aren’t many of them.
- Animals, plants and trees, landscapes.
Today with Cheval Sirene … this one breaks a couple rules. Got some imbalance to the design and I think of it as mainly two colors.

Count me in on the joy of toes wriggling freely in yellow polish. Your DL is gorgeous.Good morning!!!
Sotd is Douze Leopards.
Two connected rules:
Always consider double face designs
Always consider big cats.
Another rule I live by: do not wear socks or stockings from may to september. Hence yesterday my feet were made presentable, my nails are now shiny purple/pink and my toes are wriggling with joy in open green sandals. Oh freedom!!
And it is Friday!!![]()

Much to be happy about in an otherwise rather flawed time. Another joy is this forum. Thank you for always being supportive, funny, sensible and lovers of beauty!
Have a happy feet Friday!!
Such cheerful spring colors.
I love your mod shots, dear LKBNOLA and this last one, Acinonyx Jubatus with your pretty necklace and the dress made me smile happily! A chef’s kiss😍🙌Hello, dear Scarfies! I am flying back to Cape Cod today and look forward to catching up on all the thoughtful posts about everyone's rules and "dos and don'ts" as I travel. Many thanks to @Agrume for her always wonderful hostessing and examples! I will say that over the years I have had what I consider to be more a set of organizing principles than rules, and even those have been honored more in the breach than in the application. I seem to always break out of Ban Island, too.Buy what you love is the best rule!
I am off topic today, but I thought I'd share what I wore the past several days:
Tulipomanie GT in three different ways-- this has convinced me that this piece is a fantastic travel option! It goes with anything...

70 Aloha Dip Dye in a new-to-me cw and Ors Bleu d'Afrique, a second cw for me and a real "bargoon" from last winter. I took a chance on this one and I am very happy that I did. It was perfect for a live music event (and I did wear my cowgirl boots)!

Ha!! Me too, dear Maedi and Hermes Echidna. I’m so so so happy on the beach and enjoying these long awaited holidays. Plus, catching up here with all your beautiful silks. What pleasure!Count me in on the joy of toes wriggling freely in yellow polish. Your DL is gorgeous.
This is such a charming design and these colors are so cheerful @Redbirdhermes. I have it in the dark blue, but these colors are so much more playful. I take your point about house designed scarves, and I agree with it, but I did make an exception for Lettres because I just couldn't stop thinking about the colors and the geometric borders in the vermillion colorway. I kept seeing it on the website and then --it was gone from the website. Gasp! So my SA ordered for me and I am very happy to have it.I had a no CSGM rule for several years. I can’t wear them as an outdoor scarf in extremely cold weather as my warmest coats have lots of Velcro which snags and destroys the scarf. But the past two winters have been more temperate, my winter coats don’t need to be built for the Arctic, and CSGMs are absolutely lovely to wear with them.
Buying rules for my CSGMs are first and foremost to pick a design I absolutely love. No Hermes only design. (Lettres Equestres, I’m looking at you, as marvelous as you tie, it’s still just no.) No black scarves, no white scarves. And, I’m finding that I have plenty of gray scarves. Please, no white hems.

It’s a chilly spring day here, and little GS is coming over later to plant an oak tree that he got on Arbor Day. It’s time to wear my Aesop with its delightful children’s stories. I even got the book of fables to read to him.
Le Livre d'Esope is my scarf of the day. I purchased this in December, but decided this design and colorway had to wait until spring.
