It is gorgeous, I have bought some similar garnet pieces in Prague.Croisette, Thank you. I bought the necklace while abroad few years ago and it was in form of a big bracelet!! I couldn’t find a necklace that was big enough for my taste so I asked them to turn this bracelet it into a necklace and they did it in a day.
I was very pleased😃😂, as I bought nice earrings to match, too, and a pair for my Mum❤️🥰🙌
Thank you!CoastalCouture, thank you! We need to make sure we’re not wearing the same scarf when we finally meet in some lovely cafe 😂😂❤️
Thank you, dear Karenska
My girlfriend owns a jewelry shop and gives me lovely discountswhich made me get more and more beautiful treasures because, hey, I’m saving, right
. We even designed some sets together, which was a blast!
I love this on You, dear Jereni
Dear Karenska, I never noticed Jan w his dog in that window. Twins! I love It with your jean jacket, thanks for the idea. I rarely wear this scarf and it’s one of my dearest designs I own.
What a great score, FA! Yes, that red is beautiful on you. Please, do share w us where you find your precious ones.
I get pre-loved ones from TRR and Fashionphile because they authenticate.
Do you get yours from a site that does that? It helps me when I try to decide.
gorgeous on you, EtsyBoss
We agree, dear Redheaddem. You look stylish and comfortable. Hiking and especially on the beach is the best. I grew up by the sea and I’m the happiest when I feel it close, especially the fresh marine air. ❤️
That’s great, AnnaE. 😍Beautiful
I love this happy orange on you, Croisette!
Jereni, Cheval is stunning on you. 🙌😍
I love Shirley’s art but wasn’t sure this design was for me, due to same of the same reasons you mention above but I love it on you.
Thank you Maedi!Such cheerful spring colors.

Thank you again!Dear Darkstar, so perfectly paired w that violet. I had same ‘crushes’, Brandebourg and Les Douze that season. Which cw of Les Douze did you get? Sisters w you on this one. It was my second choice. I love the red and pink together.
AnnaE, stunning on You!
I love Elefteria. With that one, all my ‘rules’ went out the window. 😂
Are you summer or spring? I don’t know what I am or how to figure that out, but I see you in colours that I often go for!
HE, agreed on 90x90!! ❤️🙌
I have only two 70 and rarely go for them. Will have to wait for summer!
i love that with your green top, Croisette 😍
Have a lovely time with your grandchildren, dear LKBNOLA. ❤️We’ll miss you. Thanks for sharing Jean Louis Clerc designs. I got 4 of them not realizing it’s the same artist till now. No wonder🤔

Sisters, darkstar! I have the red and a pink one Toutsy!Hello and good morning,
Sadly, I don't seem to learn very much from my mistakes, I still make the same. One of them is "it looks so good on others thus it must look good on me" which of course is not sure. This leads to FOMO sometimes when a preferred design pops up or is available at my boutique. I'm grateful that you have reminded me to try it first. Esope looks wonderful on those who posted it, but on me? Then there's the issue of the price, if I see a bargain I'm pretty automatically "alerted", but this reflex goes away after having given some thought. Perhaps the trap I fall into most often is some colours or colour combinations which I'm instantly attracted to, blue, combinations with yellow, which limits one of my objectives, to have variability. And then there's my dilemma of selling, I don't seem to be able to sell any of my scarves, too much regret involved. My last candidate was Au delà des cinq Mers. But it's a Toutsy. And it ties so well. And it has these wonderful details.Thank you very much, @Agrume , for hosting this very interesting week.
Edited to add: And it has blanc matte overlay on the waves!

These are gorgeous colors for you, @Lellabelle.Busy week, so I will try to share some rules later - many of those already shared resonate with me.
Just stopping by to share SOTD, Lanternes (early morning pic, in transit). This one breaks a lot of my rules: light colour, peachy tones, wide-ish border (which I usually hide). But I was ‘scarfluenced’ by several people here and the design is a sweet one. It fills a niche in my wardrobe that is different, and therefore earns its place.

Stunning.SOTD was Della Cavalleria, as an equestrian design a rule breaker, but the colours, especially the blues, made me buy it nevertheless.

Love the soft colours, CoastalCulture!Today's SOTD fits the rule of more CSGMs and GTs. Here we are with All'Orto Botanico di Palermo.

Thank you, Darkstar, and I totally understand that you are not able to sell this beauty. Blanc matte overlay should be part of a rule: buy it and never sell it.Hello and good morning,

A wonderful, thought-provoking introduction and what a great cw of On a Summer Day, @Agrume. I hadn’t seen that cw ever and I love it. Can you please tell me the cw name/number, if it’s not too much trouble?New week, new theme! After a colourful rainbow week hosted by @xincinsin (three cheers!![]()

), this week it is all about how you build your scarf collection:
Take a Break: Do you have rules for buying scarves? Do you break your rules?
Extrapolating from my own experience: in the beginning you buy everything what you like. Then you start realising that it is near impossible to own all scarves you like, for various reasons, so that's where rules set in (and also the famous Ban Island appears on the horizon). But are those rules or rather guidelines (where motivated deviation is possible)? And is your significant other "helping" to enforce your rules?
Mr Agrume's rules:
1. no more scarves.
2. Exception: you really really want a scar - then rule 3 sets in:
3. One in, one out (or, preferably, one out, one in).
My rules:
The no rules
1. No more CSGMs - I have a few (enough) by now, and wearing them at work is difficult.
2. No CS triangles, see point 1, and I am not so convinced by that format.
3. No different colourways of the same design.
4. No duplicates.
5. No 140 cm silk scarves - the first specimen in that size was sold because I struggled with the amount of slippery silk.
6. No scarves with a lot of white. I find them difficult to wear.
7. definitely no scarves with a broad white border (and preferably no scarves with a broad border).
8. no scarves which are too dark or otherwise unflattering re colours.
9. no scarves with a prominent H logo.
10. no scarves with unappealing theme or name.
The go rules
1. Scarves with beautiful names or themes, even if one or more no rules apply.
2. A SE if I can get my hands on it.
3. Any scarf by Katie Scott or Alice Shirley deserves careful deliberation.
That almost every rule has its exception is demonstrated by my SOTD, the giant triangle On a summer's day (also violating #9, with a relatively visible logo):

And now it's your turn - how do you decide which scarf/ves to buy? or not?
Thank you, Karenska, I will try to find out the cw of this one. Good to hear you are enjoying this format - and how nice you found another JL! The b/w bandana suits you well!A wonderful, thought-provoking introduction and what a great cw of On a Summer Day, @Agrume. I hadn’t seen that cw ever and I love it. Can you please tell me the cw name/number, if it’s not too much trouble?
Well, what is shaping up to be my one substantial weekly post, here are my “rules” which are breakable.
No CSGMs. I adore the CSGM format but I simply do not reach for them. They are just too big and too warm for me. I now just have one - Acte III in the rose/bleu jean cw which I have, very sadly, decided not to keep.
The CS giant triangle suits me much better - just as beautiful but half the fabric. Here are my two recent acquisition/re-acquisition:
View attachment 6166524View attachment 6166525
I adore both of these beauties. Twins with many of you and for @Ashanti_Rose, with whom I communicated about the JL CS giant triangle, after I sent it back, I grew to regret it and thanks to a kind and miracle-working SA at the Madison Avenue boutique, was able to acquire another from another boutique. I’m happy and so grateful.
No more 90s. I love them but I enjoy the 70s (in truth, they are irresistible!), bandanas and even gavs much more. That rule may be broken if an irresistible or a vintage must-have comes along….
No white hems. In fact, no white-dominated silks. I broke that rule with Tulipomanie triangle but what’s not to love about this cw? And I do have Hermes Station in the blanc/noir and I love it.
View attachment 6166533
Which demonstrates that there are exceptions to every rule. Thank you, @Agrume, for hosting this week!
What a great summer scarf, Redheaddem! You look lovely! After a seasonal inappropriate mini heat wave, the weather is perfect to debute my newest triangle, Robe Legere in Jaune Vif.
Some rules were followed (prioritising cashmere, love the design and colours), some were broken (looking at you, white border!). But overall I love this one a lot!
Happy weekend dear scarfies.
