I have the dark blue one, but yours is just delicious.
Double face, well-priced, from a beloved designer? Check, check and check, rules be d*mned! 😂. “Anything Alice” should be one of my rules to supersede other rules - it’s an ‘over-rule’ situation!I don’t have strict rules formulated so far, but there are some guidelines I usually follow.
- no equestrian designs
- no automobile or other technical designs
- if a design sings to me, I have to set it aside for a while. If I come back several days later and it still looks amazing go for it
- I am usually looking for good bargains but have not set myself a firm budget
- I try to go for designs that fill a void in my collection, especially trying to balance different formats and colors
- no duplicates (except for my Cosmographia)
- Buying directly from H is reserved for special occasions
- but if I love a current season Design online and later find it for less than retail that is a good reason to buy
My SOYD falls into the last category: saw it online and was smitten by it. Found it later on resale for a bargain prize. Also is my only Double Face so a special format.

@Jereni is my twin on this and has already shown hers styled beautifully. I think I know what you mean about the less useful corners on this one but it matches with more than two colors in my opinion: red, teal, blue, pink, white and the reverse side also goes with grey.
I feel the exact same way @Jereni ! I don’t know why I find this one tricky - some of the peachy apricot tones are tough for me and there’s a lot of blank space, as you say. I love the rainbow fan lantern, and always try to feature it, which limits my styling further.Oh no! You will be greatly missed, and I hope everything will be ok.
Congrats on your new in, it’s beautiful! That HEM!!! So nice to be able to complete a collection. I did a double take at the artist name bc Leclerc is one of my favorite F1 drivers lol.
Delightful look! I struggle with this scarf too oddly enough. I absolutely LOVE the textures of the lanterns, I think I just wish the design was more dense with less blank space. But I would never part with it.
That’s such a kind compliment, thank you!
Aw thank you!!! I really appreciate that. And your Phoenix CSGM is so breathtaking. I want that design a lot but have yet to identify a cw reasonably different from other things I have, that would also pair well with my wardrobe.
A magnificent moussie to be sure!!! Just absolutely dreamy on you.
What an elegant and striking colorway!
Thank you @Agrume. It’s a tricky scarf for me, but when it works, it works!Apologies for being absent yesterday - one of my PhD students had her public defence (she did excellently), and we had colleagues staying over for this event. I will feel as HermesEchidna did this week in 10 days when I'll have a reasonably normal work week...
yellow is very much "in" at the moment, nice scarf!
thank you, LKBNOLA! congratulations on your Urashima Taro. I share your feelings when trying to master the amount of mousseline in a 140 scarf (and your enthousiasm for the 70 size, too). Your birds and grand-children themed scarfs are exquisite. We will miss you and I hope you are OK, take care.
what a serene colour combination, CoastalCulture!
Stars and other celestial objects are always tempting! beautiful, Maedi!
Thank you - and no, not sure there were 2 different colour ways with this white hem.
Fabulous choice for yesterday, HermesEchidna! love these colours for SD. You must get up extra early to have these try outs.
And the green of today is perfect for May 1st!
Two gorgeous colour ways, and both perfectly paired, Darkstar!
I completely understand - will show something comparable in an instant. beautiful red!
This purple scarf is so nice - and love the pink MP. And I adore this Brazil with the blue feathers, and a blue bracelet to match!
This green jacket is a great backdrop for your scarf, Jacq1!
Love this on you, Jereni! Another example of purple and yellow being a great colour combination!
Well, scarfluenced is describing perfectly what's happening here, Lellabelle. This scarf is a wonderful match with your blazer!
This is master styling, KatharinaLuise! Blue and orange are always winners.
Lol, I cannot take credit for “scarfluence”, (which originated in the SOTD thread, somewhere). It’s a wonderful word though, and deserving of a place in our scarfie lexicon 👍@Lellabelle thank you for expanding my vocabulary! "Scarfluence" is something that happens a lot around here. You might even say it's a zone of scarfluence.
This is a design I don’t (yet) have, mainly because it breaks a couple of rules for me - the scale is wrong for me, the design elements give some weird associations (fleshy tentacles, anyone?!) and the CWs in the 90 are mostly not well suited for me. But every time you post this gav pair, I am sorely tempted! You style them so well and they look amazing on you!Hello and good morning,
There are some restrictions as to what I will wear when it comes to patterns or designs. I will NEVER EVER wear patterns with checked patterns, Vichy or Tartan, it looks ridiculous on me. AnnaE showed a magnificent L'Art du Sarasa lately, impossible for me because of patches of Vichy. Same for Paisley Blossom: checked patterns. As for formats, no smaller format than 90 for me, but I have 2 exceptional gavroches which I couldn't resist. I shy away from horses or horse related themes but I have some Jan B.s of course. Same for any military theme and Classics in general although these older scarves are often masterpieces in their craftsmanship.View attachment 6166105
Such a perfect Spring palette. It looks lovely on you @Croisette7
So happy for you @Jereni - to have finally found your green! And very lovely it is on you, too 👍. Laughing at the “Confessions” referenceSome of you have possibly heard me pontificate before about being on the hunt for the ultimate green scarf, and bemoaning my first world problems that Hermes does not seem to do many green colorways. At least in the emerald greens that I so admire.
Well, it has happened! This popped up on TRR for a good price and then went on sale to boot and I crossed my fingers and took the plunge, hoping the pics were true to life.
And - victory at last! This green could NOT be more perfect. This pic is actually making it look a little more bright than it is - it is a rich, deep, vivid green with just the right amount of leaning blue (vs yellow). It breaks my rules as it’s a two color scarf but the entire point was GREEN GREEN GREEN so frankly it could have been a solid color and I’d be over the moon.
Cheval Fusion!

Not only fleshy tentacles, but also hairy ones!Double face, well-priced, from a beloved designer? Check, check and check, rules be d*mned! 😂. “Anything Alice” should be one of my rules to supersede other rules - it’s an ‘over-rule’ situation!

I probably should have gone for the black and pink one that I really wanted, but I got a great deal on mine and that, along with availability, was what sealed the choice. I should probably CCP it at some stage, but I do enjoy it when I wear it. It’s different from anything else I have.
Thank you @Agrume. It’s a tricky scarf for me, but when it works, it works!

I could break all those rules for these little cuties, except I also have an unwritten rule for gavs too, I suppose, in that I never buy them. Adorable though they are, I prefer having more silk to play with!

Gosh not had you called it tablecloth, I cannot unsee it!I’m breaking *other people’s* rules and wearing my scarf with tablecloth pattern on it 😂View attachment 6166204
It’s funny - sometimes I do struggle with the checked bit until I get it folded properly, but when I visualized the scarf without that part, I realized that it would actually be a bit boring without it. It really adds a lot of pop.Gosh not had you called it tablecloth, I cannot unsee it!
So pretty, @Agrume! These colours are beautiful on you.
Thank you, CoastalCulture!Same scarf, different day. What a difference clothing choice and lighting make. My SOTD Botte:

Thank you, Redheaddem! Yes’m we are lucky to have Vondelpark so close by.Such a pretty colorway! I love it and Vondel park as well ☺️
Thanks for sharing your Leopards, this turns out to be a very popular scarf for this week. Love the orange contrast hem. And hello to your happy feet!Good morning!!!
Sotd is Douze Leopards.
Two connected rules:
Always consider double face designs
Always consider big cats.
Another rule I live by: do not wear socks or stockings from may to september. Hence yesterday my feet were made presentable, my nails are now shiny purple/pink and my toes are wriggling with joy in open green sandals. Oh freedom!!
And it is Friday!!![]()

More happy colours! It’s a beautiful design, and those yellow stars are just perfect, RBH! 🌟For the longest time I didn't purchase the double-face designs (two sides with the same design reversed, one in a color I didn't like, why pay for that?) or CSGMs (too big!). But, I really wanted this Alice Shirley design, and now I own two 90s and a CSGM.
Sous le Charme d'Orphee CSGM is my scarf of the day.
