Apologies for being absent yesterday - one of my PhD students had her public defence (she did excellently), and we had colleagues staying over for this event. I will feel as HermesEchidna did this week in 10 days when I'll have a reasonably normal work week...

yellow is very much "in" at the moment, nice scarf!

thank you, LKBNOLA! congratulations on your Urashima Taro. I share your feelings when trying to master the amount of mousseline in a 140 scarf (and your enthousiasm for the 70 size, too). Your birds and grand-children themed scarfs are exquisite. We will miss you and I hope you are OK, take care.

what a serene colour combination, CoastalCulture!

Stars and other celestial objects are always tempting! beautiful, Maedi!

Thank you - and no, not sure there were 2 different colour ways with this white hem.

Fabulous choice for yesterday, HermesEchidna! love these colours for SD. You must get up extra early to have these try outs.
And the green of today is perfect for May 1st!

Two gorgeous colour ways, and both perfectly paired, Darkstar!

I completely understand - will show something comparable in an instant. beautiful red!

This purple scarf is so nice - and love the pink MP. And I adore this Brazil with the blue feathers, and a blue bracelet to match!

This green jacket is a great backdrop for your scarf, Jacq1!

Love this on you, Jereni! Another example of purple and yellow being a great colour combination!

Well, scarfluenced is describing perfectly what's happening here, Lellabelle. This scarf is a wonderful match with your blazer!

This is master styling, KatharinaLuise! Blue and orange are always winners.
Thank you, Agrume!
SOTD is the Luxembourg SE of Precious Paradise, cw Indigo/bleu/vert. I still have to find the difference between this one and the regular cw bleu jean/vert/orange, besides the mention of the charity for which this SE was issued, but the fact of it being an SE made me buy it.

Greetings from a beautiful spring day in Amsterdam! Days like this one are precious.

So very pretty in blue!
Gardening with your grandson must be bliss! Lovely Poret in quiet colours.

Perfect for this sunny day, Croisette ! :sunshine:

Glorious Gloire, you were absolutely right to break your rules for this treasure, Jereni. Nice pairing with your blue email bracelet.
Thank you again!

Thank you @Agrume 😊 Admittedly I do get up very early, and it gives me some spare time for wordle, news, knitting … or scarves 😉. The small odd ones I tried yesterday are placed in their own pile, so they did not take much time to run through though.

I wondered if I should wear a red scarf for May 1st, but the cheval sirene called to me 🧜🏻‍♀️
Well chosen and hello, fellow early riser. A dose of wordle and newspaper before getting out and about is essential.

Thank you, Agrume!

So very pretty in blue!

Thank you again!
Thank you, Croisette!

No real rules for me, preferably no modern weapons or hurting animals. Loving nature, horses, flowers, animals and anything tied to a memory or interest. It’s mostly an emotional affair.
Voie lactée today inspired by @Redbirdhermes albeit in opposite coloration.

I love this one! I, too, like scarves from all sorts of topics and backgrounds.
Good morning!!

Trial and error have made one rule for me which I try and follow: stick to known formats which I know how to wear.

But time and again Something cute at a good price lure me from my principles. And on arrival teach me that the rule was there for a reason.

Examples of ‘adventure purchases’:

Duck or rabbit 45x45 - too small for me to tie but adorable
View attachment 6165247
Triangle Tiger Royal - also adorable, but did I need more light pink scsrves?
View attachment 6165248
Jersey silk triangle - feels like whipped cream but nearly impossible to tie

Maxi twilly. And an addition to our Brazil examples. I love all that silk, but where do I put it?

And - as this was the last I tried on - this is my sotd. A 70x70 Savanna dance. Also a bit small but Lovely colors and good when it is a hot day - and today looks like it is going to be

Wish you a nice square 90x90 day!!!
I have grown to like all of these formats except for the 45s. Some people rock them, but I love having more fabric to work with.
Hello and good morning,
I have no problem at all with buying several cw of the same design. First, if I love a design and it has been issued in many attractive cw, I often like to have more than one. And then, I don't believe that anybody I cross could distinguish and assign different cw to the same design. Other than you scarfies of course who see it at first glance!😄 I have had this twin Phoenix with Croisette7 for quite a few years and bought another one in an auction last week. No bargain, however. 😬 Brought it to the dry cleaner's this morning, so here's only yesterday's draping shot. And tried my classic one with a jacket yesterday, a quite formal look, and with my suede shirt today. It looks perhaps best with my mint green cardigan which I'm too lazy to dig out, sorry. 🫣View attachment 6165294View attachment 6165295View attachment 6165296
I love those purples!

Looking so good @Katharina Luise - as always!! Love the blue and the power jewelleries!

Can I ask if you have the turqouise Pélages et Camouflages ? (One of the four 😊) - I am considering it but would love to see the colors. A friend of mine have a red one and it is gorgeous.
Thank you dear @HermesEchidna! I don’t have the turquoise. Yet 😂 But I would love to have it! 😉

Hello and good morning,
Me and CSGM, that's a love affair, if however a somewhat delayed one. I received my first in 1990, as a Christmas present. It was a Brins d'Or by Julia Abadie. I would look at it, admire it and then put it back into the cupboard. It was somehow too much for me, too much fabric, too precious, too expensive, perhaps also too classic and, yes, too bourgeois to me. 🤭 For the next 30 years I wore it perhaps 5 times. I preferred Kenzo wool shawls which seemed more modern and I gathered a small collection of those. In 2019 I saw a Piqué Fleuri de Provence CSGM and bought it and since then...the love affair was fuelled to bonfire dimensions. :yahoo:View attachment 6165651
This reminds me that I do have a rule for Hermes scarves: I don't buy cashmere. But that is because I am allergic. When I see treasures such as yours, I get very sad and very jealous...

Happy May Day, Scarflandia! Thank you to everyone for your good wishes! And a very big thank you to @Agrume for leading us in this interesting week and a big wave and hug to all, here are two more blues. Let's see if I can connect them to the theme

I should have a stamped ticket on the ferry to Ban Island when it comes to 70s. I find them so easy to wear and many are just plain fun. I had said no more for 2025. But when a scarf featuring the actual dogs of Hermès employees auditioning in cute Petite H items shows up AND it is blue, what's a scarf-loving dog mom supposed to do? Break a rule, of course!
My SOTD is Jour de Casting

And finally, sharing a grail mousseline I acquired last winter. My relationship status with this format is definitely "It's Complicated." I think the moussies are very beautiful but I do not find them that easy to wear and pair. I do have rules for this format-- limiting myself to personal grails and few in number. I was overjoyed to find this beautiful Urashima Taro in the cw I wanted at a decent grail price. So far, I have only looked at it in wonder, but sharing today as I have new rule in place which is to have a photo of every piece once it arrives!

Wow! Those both tie amazingly well. I was tempted last summer by a large format moussie but ultimately passed because I wasn't willing to take the risk on condition vs. price. It didn't feel right. That's one of my rules... good value based on price to condition ratio. The BOLO I issued is still active so am on "be on the lookout" status for a good value, large format blue moussie. Willing to wait! LOL. Good to know they are out there. Yours is really lovely! And that 70.... gosh. I *need* another blue scarf, and the dogs. That fluffy brown one in the top right corner reminds me so much of my l'il rascal Coco! Fun to know they are modeling Petit H items and are the pups of H staff. Thank you for this insight, as always, @LKBNOLA

It's been a busy few days and there's no let up in sight till the weekend. My rules are pretty general.

  1. Don't buy anything I will not or cannot wear. Only choose colours which are flattering.
  2. It's ok to buy something to go with one only one outfit, especially if I spent 80-100 hours making it.
  3. I absolutely love contrast hems.
  4. I'm open to sizes; right now trying to build my CSGMs and GTs.
  5. If it's been a long time since wearing or I've fallen out of love, move it on. Except for Coeur de la Vie, keep this one forever because it goes with a Chanel style jacket made from fabric I bought in Paris.
  6. I generally stay away from wide borders, white borders and backgrounds.
  7. I stay away from icky subject matter but . . . .
Rules are just guidelines and sometimes you can override them. Maybe it's just icky in one corner? Bottes, I'm talking about you! Acquired just yesterday in Boston. I suppose you can call it my SOYD.

Same scarf, different day. What a difference clothing choice and lighting make. My SOTD Botte:

Busy week, so I will try to share some rules later - many of those already shared resonate with me.
Just stopping by to share SOTD, Lanternes (early morning pic, in transit). This one breaks a lot of my rules: light colour, peachy tones, wide-ish border (which I usually hide). But I was ‘scarfluenced’ by several people here and the design is a sweet one. It fills a niche in my wardrobe that is different, and therefore earns its place.

Hope everyone is doing well. Will catch up when I can.

@Lellabelle thank you for expanding my vocabulary! "Scarfluence" is something that happens a lot around here. You might even say it's a zone of scarfluence. 😊

Forgive the double post today, friends! After tomorrow, I will be absent from Scarflandia for a time. Even though I still will wear my scarves every day, real life demands are going to require a hiatus from my daily participation on this thread. You are all so nice to indulge my rambling burblings and babblings-- I will miss the eye candy and the fun and hope to stop by as I can.
Meantime, when I began collecting, I organized my acquisitions by artist-- it was just a way to lend some order to what was otherwise often just "Acute Scarf Acquisition Syndrome." Recently I completed all the designs I wanted of an artist whose whimsical style and charming subject matter really resonated with me. My five older grandchildren have each pursued music, dance and riding passions and I chose these so that I would always have the appropriately-themed design to wear to their concerts, shows, recitals and events. And since I love being a spectator/attendee, Soiree de Gala, the last one in my Clerc "family" is also perfect!

@LKBNOLA You are absolutely right. 70s are just plain fun. I think I would have even more of them if they were in the same silk as the 90s. But, dogs? Resistance is futile!
