All the best to you, dear LKB, during your "sabbatical" from this thread! I hope everything turns out well and we will have you back in no time at all! 💜 I will surely miss your ingenuity and inspiration. Take care.Forgive the double post today, friends! After tomorrow, I will be absent from Scarflandia for a time. Even though I still will wear my scarves every day, real life demands are going to require a hiatus from my daily participation on this thread. You are all so nice to indulge my rambling burblings and babblings-- I will miss the eye candy and the fun and hope to stop by as I can.
Meantime, when I began collecting, I organized my acquisitions by artist-- it was just a way to lend some order to what was otherwise often just "Acute Scarf Acquisition Syndrome." Recently I completed all the designs I wanted of an artist whose whimsical style and charming subject matter really resonated with me. My five older grandchildren have each pursued music, dance and riding passions and I chose these so that I would always have the appropriately-themed design to wear to their concerts, shows, recitals and events. And since I love being a spectator/attendee, Soiree de Gala, the last one in my Clerc "family" is also perfect!

This looks wonderful on you, Jereni, complex and harmonious, a jewel.Brandebourgs Fleuris is a design with a lot of pretty detail, but for some reason I find it challenging to tie in a way that features my favorite part, which are the light orange and cobalt blue areas.

And that beautiful Cheval Sirene is a good reason for following your rule! It looks great on you @Jacq1.I don’t have strict rules formulated so far, but there are some guidelines I usually follow.
- no equestrian designs
- no automobile or other technical designs
- if a design sings to me, I have to set it aside for a while. If I come back several days later and it still looks amazing go for it
- I am usually looking for good bargains but have not set myself a firm budget
- I try to go for designs that fill a void in my collection, especially trying to balance different formats and colors
- no duplicates (except for my Cosmographia)
- Buying directly from H is reserved for special occasions
- but if I love a current season Design online and later find it for less than retail that is a good reason to buy
My SOYD falls into the last category: saw it online and was smitten by it. Found it later on resale for a bargain prize. Also is my only Double Face so a special format.

@Jereni is my twin on this and has already shown hers styled beautifully. I think I know what you mean about the less useful corners on this one but it matches with more than two colors in my opinion: red, teal, blue, pink, white and the reverse side also goes with grey.
Thank you @Croisette7! I do. I have the anthracite 90, the pink 90 coloriage and a blue (twins with @Cookiefiend). And my CSGM. It is such a beautiful design...Thank you twin ... don't you own the pink CSGM?
It's esp. beautiful in blue with a green hem ... lovely knot too!
Thank you @redheaddem-- there is no shortage of stunning blues in the world of H!!!! 💙 💙 🧡 Can't wait to see what oyu find...I love your blues and hope to find a similar beautiful blue soon 😍

Channeling one of her lines from the White Lotus, I can imagine you saying in your best southern accent, "I just don't think at this age I'm meant to live without another blue scarf. I don't have the will."You and your blue scarves are just as iconic as her character on that show. Congrats on your new blue-in!
Thank you dear @Karenska! I know you have had your hands full too. 🩷Beautifully styled, dear Lkb. What a gorgeous knot and cw. Sending love and my very best wishes to you and your family during your hiatus. 🫂🕊️❤️
Thank you @Lellabelle. I love seeing your styling of the beautiful Lanternes today!Take care, dear @LKBNOLA and hope to see you here when you can. You’ll be missed!

Beautiful @darkstar66. My CSGM love affair was also late-blooming! Thank you for the good wishes.Hello and good morning,
Me and CSGM, that's a love affair, if however a somewhat delayed one. I received my first in 1990, as a Christmas present. It was a Brins d'Or by Julia Abadie. I would look at it, admire it and then put it back into the cupboard. It was somehow too much for me, too much fabric, too precious, too expensive, perhaps also too classic and, yes, too bourgeois to me. 🤭 For the next 30 years I wore it perhaps 5 times. I preferred Kenzo wool shawls which seemed more modern and I gathered a small collection of those. In 2019 I saw a Piqué Fleuri de Provence CSGM and bought it and since then...the love affair was fuelled to bonfire dimensions.View attachment 6165651
Congratulations on this treasure, LKB! The colours are dreamy!Happy May Day, Scarflandia! Thank you to everyone for your good wishes! And a very big thank you to @Agrume for leading us in this interesting week and a big wave and hug to all, here are two more blues. Let's see if I can connect them to the theme
I should have a stamped ticket on the ferry to Ban Island when it comes to 70s. I find them so easy to wear and many are just plain fun. I had said no more for 2025. But when a scarf featuring the actual dogs of Hermès employees auditioning in cute Petite H items shows up AND it is blue, what's a scarf-loving dog mom supposed to do? Break a rule, of course!

And finally, sharing a grail mousseline I acquired last winter. My relationship status with this format is definitely "It's Complicated." I think the moussies are very beautiful but I do not find them that easy to wear and pair. I do have rules for this format-- limiting myself to personal grails and few in number. I was overjoyed to find this beautiful Urashima Taro in the cw I wanted at a decent grail price. So far, I have only looked at it in wonder, but sharing today as I have new rule in place which is to have a photo of every piece once it arrives!

Busy week, so I will try to share some rules later - many of those already shared resonate with me.
Just stopping by to share SOTD, Lanternes (early morning pic, in transit). This one breaks a lot of my rules: light colour, peachy tones, wide-ish border (which I usually hide). But I was ‘scarfluenced’ by several people here and the design is a sweet one. It fills a niche in my wardrobe that is different, and therefore earns its place.

Very beautifully styled, Katharina, that rich blue (royal?) is gorgeous, but you can wear just any colour, no? So glad that I don't wear any bracelets...🤣🤣There are not many rules for me, only some regarding special formats. Over the years I learned that twillies and gavroches tended to live in my closet but rarely were worn. I bought them because I really liked them being so cute. But I sold them all. I never really had good ideas how to style them. Plissées and Moussies scarcely made an appearance. I kept only one of each kind, all the others over the years found a new home. So 90 silks, bandanas and every type of cashmere-silk are those I wear. There are no rules regarding no doubles or something like that. If I love a design, I go all in! Looking at you Pélages et Camouflages (four! 🤭)
Wishing you all a beautiful May Day! And @LKBNOLA I hope you don’t leave us alone for too long! We would miss you very much!
My scarf of yesterday was Mythes et Métamorphoses. Over the last few years I try to collect also matching Hermès jewelry like Clics, Behapis and necklaces.
Another slippery orange slope 😂

yellow is very much "in" at the moment, nice scarf!I try not to buy similar scarves, but I have this Eleftheria in both yellow (what I am wearing) and orange…
View attachment 6165026
I know you love it @darkstar66. I myself missed it in the season (punishment for dithering about the format) and then a dear friend adopted @Agrume's rule about 140 silks and I was the very very happy beneficiary of her rule enforcement! Speaking of that, I do keep my 140 silk and moussie collection quite small and carefully curated. It helps that not many are offered any more!
Yay! I know it is a busy design-- I myself opted for the monochrome blue just for that reason, but I am increasingly drawn to the idea of taking the plunge with a bright because the elements are actually beautifully balanced. Happy you are reconsidering @FA73.
It is fabulous @Redbirdhermes -- and I love that image of the scarves madly waving their hands in the air like a group of eager third-graders!
Thank you @Croisette7-- the 140 silks are definitely eye-catching!
That's a big trench! I like the flowers on your brooch as well as in your garden and your bright SOTD with matching lippie @Teaforparrots-- you look very much like you are welcoming Spring...
Thank you for weighing in @Karenska-- it is so nice to see you back and I love the hairstyle update! Love your yellows (twins on SD as you may recall!).
What a cute tie for this @Jereni. Thank you for the Tulipomanie love-- I was inspired by @CoastalCouture to pack it and it was the piece I wore the most this past weekend! Very flexible and versatile. Can't wait to see your scarfmail!
Oooooh. Congratulations! What a great scarf for you @CoastalCouture -- I went for the noir and I love it. Which is the "icky" corner?
Beautiful @Agrume! Who could resist those silly cats anyway, especially when they are wearing reading glasses and cavorting in a bookcase? Super outfit! I don't have a lot of animal print myself, but hard to avoid if you are a Dallet fan!!!!
Well, I often buy two cws of a design-- and when I do, I try to go for colors different enough (night and day, winter and spring etc) but sometimes, two cws look so good you have to have both. Eleftheria is lovely on you @AnnaE.
Every once in a while I tell myself I do not need any more blue scarves in any size, format or design. But, but, but. Blue is always a temptation for me, and even when I have acquired a grail design in a grail cw, I am not immune to adding a blue! Here's the most recent example: Les Oiseaux des Champs et des Bois. This blue treasure joined my gorgeous black one because, well, it's blue and also, as @Teaforparrots would say: BIRDS, BIRDS, BIRDS.
View attachment 6165070
And while I was at it, I decided to channel Parker Posey's look in the recent season of White Lotus. I think it looked cool but without magnets or some other way to secure the scarf from slipping it was pretty unstable! Fun to play around though!

thank you, LKBNOLA! congratulations on your Urashima Taro. I share your feelings when trying to master the amount of mousseline in a 140 scarf (and your enthousiasm for the 70 size, too). what a serene colour combination, CoastalCulture!
Stars and other celestial objects are always tempting! beautiful, Maedi! No real rules for me, preferably no modern weapons or hurting animals. Loving nature, horses, flowers, animals and anything tied to a memory or interest. It’s mostly an emotional affair.
Voie lactée today inspired by @Redbirdhermes albeit in opposite coloration.

Thank you - and no, not sure there were 2 different colour ways with this white hem.Douze leopards looks fabulous with this sweater color. Were there two different color ways with white contrast hems?
Good morning!!
Trial and error have made one rule for me which I try and follow: stick to known formats which I know how to wear.
But time and again Something cute at a good price lure me from my principles. And on arrival teach me that the rule was there for a reason.
Examples of ‘adventure purchases’:
Duck or rabbit 45x45 - too small for me to tie but adorable
View attachment 6165247
Triangle Tiger Royal - also adorable, but did I need more light pink scsrves?
View attachment 6165248
Jersey silk triangle - feels like whipped cream but nearly impossible to tie

Maxi twilly. And an addition to our Brazil examples. I love all that silk, but where do I put it?

Fabulous choice for yesterday, HermesEchidna! love these colours for SD. You must get up extra early to have these try outs.Good morning!!
Thank you twins @Jereni and @Jacq1 for reminding me how Lovely Cheval Sirene is.
I got it when I had neither rules nor much reflection on which scarves to get or how to wear them and it has been a bit forgotten by me despite the strong motive and great colors.
Today I would probably say that the pattern is a bit big and I do not need more soft pink - I am happy I did not have rules then 😊 and will try to wear it more frequently and it is my sotd!

Wish you a happy May 1st!
Two gorgeous colour ways, and both perfectly paired, Darkstar!Hello and good morning,
I have no problem at all with buying several cw of the same design. First, if I love a design and it has been issued in many attractive cw, I often like to have more than one. And then, I don't believe that anybody I cross could distinguish and assign different cw to the same design. Other than you scarfies of course who see it at first glance!😄 I have had this twin Phoenix with Croisette7 for quite a few years and bought another one in an auction last week. No bargain, however. 😬 Brought it to the dry cleaner's this morning, so here's only yesterday's draping shot. And tried my classic one with a jacket yesterday, a quite formal look, and with my suede shirt today. It looks perhaps best with my mint green cardigan which I'm too lazy to dig out, sorry. 🫣View attachment 6165294View attachment 6165295View attachment 6165296
I completely understand - will show something comparable in an instant. beautiful red!My first Regina happened to be the special edition issued for Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee in 2002. I later purchased the same scarf in red.
View attachment 6165349
After learning more about the design and it's many reissues, I exchanged my later issue red Regina for an original issue red Regina. The scarves themselves looked the same. But I'm enough of a nerd that way.
Original issue from 1972 red Regina is my scarf of the day.
