No snakes on this scarf, but I’m sure the jungle is full of them!

So pretty in gold, Cookie!
Oh no, dear Cookie. I do hope the situation gets better and you gave internet and phone soon!!
I think ‘I gotta have it- itis’ is raging here😂😂. There’s so many silk and cashmere beauties to see.
Never heard that phrase before and now it’s a keeper🤣

Nice to see you back here, dear Jereni
CU is so pretty on you. I love that gold trim😍
Thanks for your kind words 🌷

Thanks, dear LKBNOLA
I see the fireworks scarf on TRR once in a while, very reasonably priced.
I love that brown honey toned Orphee on you and the Pegasus ring. I’m glad it’s wide enough for CSGM size.

Croisette, that pairing is out of this world!!
Now, I’m sorry I didn’t get La Femme CSGM when I saw it on sale but it was a different cw which I had in 90 size.
But this pink is soooo pretty with your coat dress. Swoon!!

EtsyBoss, I’m so happy you found ELeK you were looking for and it’s so pretty on you.
Hope your puppy is feeling better and the antibiotics are working 🙏😍
Thank you ever so much, Helena!
Last day in NYC on this trip. I packed only three scarves, have already shown two, and coincidentally the third is also on theme! Whether they are dragons or snakes, Nothing But a Dreamer absolutely has some scaly serpent-like creatures!

Grateful to @momasaurus for the inspiration/enablement on this cw!
The contrast bordeaux hem is perfect with this cw ... as your pretty scarfring is, LKB!

I want to say thank you to everyone for participating this week! I loved seeing everyone’s scarves! Here is to a good new year ahead! ❤️🧧

Now we move on to the serpents……. 🐍

Greetings and salutations! (Wait, that was the spider.)

Thank you, @AnnaE for hosting such a glorious week of scarves.

This week’s theme is “snake charmer”, a celebration of snakes (and honorary snakes) and music on scarves. As always, feel free to post even if not on theme!

Snake charming as a profession has existed for centuries, most common in India but spreading across Asia and into Africa. The charmers at various times helped clear out snakes from homes, sold medicines to heal bites, or were simply entertainment. After multiple wildlife protection acts, it has become a precarious business.

While these musicians don’t resemble the stereotypical charmers, I believe they must be entrancing their audience. And the green streamers around them suggest serpents to me.

Here is Danse du Cosmos, and I look forward to seeing all of your scarves!

Thank you, dear @FizzyWater, for hosting snakes and snake charmers this week. I adore this design! Why I do not have it yet is a mystery. And this cw, too. May be doing some searching soon…. :graucho:

It is well known to many of you here that I am quite serpent-phobic. I wish them no harm but seeing photos and realistic interpretations of them strikes immediate fear into my body, quite involuntarily. That said, I appreciate them in culture, literature and art. I looked through Acte III to see if a serpent lurked about in the woodland grasses but there are none. No matter. Snakes are still relevant to Shakespeare’s comedic masterpiece which is the design’s subject. As Titania is being soothed to slumberland, her fairy retinue sings this lullaby:

Ye spotted snakes with double tongue,
Thorny hedgehogs, be not seen;
Newts and blind-worms, do no wrong,
Come not near our fairy queen.

My SOTD is Acte III CSGM.

You are not alone Karenska ... I'm serpentphobic too.

Wonderful intro @FizzyWater!!! And very interesting to learn about the various roles of the Snake Charmer, too. I think your pink Cosmos could charm anybody but I am/was accidentally on theme with my SOYE featuring Orpheus who charmed the gogs, people, beasts, birds and even the trees with his music! And that shawl feautures a snake as well, as @Agrume showed. And my SOTD is also on point! Looking forward to this week and no doubt will be surprised by all the snakes slithering around on my silks!

I love this cw, dear Cookie😎🥰

Beautifully styled, dear Darkstar, with your blue pendant!

Thanks dear, Maedi. I still haven’t decided if I’m returning it.
How do you wear your Mystère 🤔

Thank you so much😄
Thank you sweetheart!
I guess there are more snake photos among TPFers than I imagined @HermesEchidna... 🐍

I love this gorgeous sunny Tyger Tyger @Cookiefiend! It looks great on the striped top...

Thank you both @Helena7 and @Maedi for the kind words!
Thank you so much LKB!
I'm going to stretch the theme a bit today, this design has definitely charmed a lot of fellow scarfies!

I was surprised to discover that there are no reptiles on Faune et Flores du Texas, but Animapolis always delivers so here is my Sotd (snake of the Day)

Ohmigosh Croisette! That’s stunning … and I’m not sure I’ve seen you post it! It’s amazing!
My go-to throw-on today was Dies et Hore dip-dye.

Fabulous post Karenska - and a lovely quote and scarf pairing!

And yesterday, DH and I were under the spell of Harry Connick Jr.'s Cole Porter tribute at the Metropolitan Opera, so it seems fitting I wore Sous le Charme d'Orphee! (twins with @Agrume, @Croisette7, @Nomad and many many others on this one).
View attachment 6125941

Is this the Sous le Charme d'Orphee 140 shawl in Caramel / Caban / Noisette?

It looks so gorgeous on you! The way you’ve beautifully tied it makes it look like a smaller, elegant cashmere scarf.
