@Ashanti_Rose the 140 equator is gorgeous. Just gorgeous. It has opened my eyes to perhaps liking Dallet most in larger format. I only own Jungle Love by Dallet. I haven’t found a love of other 90’s on me for whatever reasons. Similarly with Oliver. I actually love Oliver but have given up owning as I have tried and returned at least 5 colors/designs of various of his. I wanted all of his designs, but they don’t love me back.
Well, everyone, thank you for sharing your lovely scarves and deadly drinks! Happy Holly-days...

what a great green on your top. And I must remember this tie for wide border designs. I love seeing that pop of color on the bottom. Neige is beautiful! Look at those shadows and depth

@Maedi and @Redbirdhermes have modeled their beautiful cws of L’Hiver en Poste. Yesterday I wore mine, a cw I love and find festive for the holidays. I would love to acquire a different cw, perhaps this one, as there were many beautiful cws issued over the years.

The Bull and Mouth Inn was a coaching in in the City of London and dated from 1666. It was once an important arrival and departure point for coaches from all over Britain, but particularly for the north of England and Scotland. It was demolished in 1888. James Pollard painted this scene which is the basis of Ledoux’s design and research tells me this is the Duke of Beaufort Coach.

I always love seeing your l’hiver. It’s uplifting in this green.
Reaching for festive reds again on a warm-ish day with a combination of an H scarf and a hand-knit shawl.View attachment 6104284
That is a cozy combo look for sure. Love the tone of your knit
It occurred to me today that my Animapolis is in somewhat icy, wintry tones:

@Lellabelle - so many great gin recommendations! I love Citadelle as well. Another I’ve been trying recently is this Empress 1908 Indigo, which tends to produce purple cocktails lol.

A wonderful outfit together. So soft, feminine and beautiful.
Well, y'all. It is a two scarf day for me today. I finally-- finally-- received my last piece from the 1024 AW season. This is the very first item I reserved at the boutique last summer and it is the very last to manifest, barely making it before the year end! I can't really say this is "holiday" but there is that beautiful brick-red hem. And it is making its debut at a small holiday gathering.
All'Orto Botanico di Palermo in caramel. Thrilled to be twins with @Croisette7. View attachment 6104326
It’s gorgeous! And the lippie sets that hem off so well. And the black is the perfect back drop for the sepia tones.
About as festivus as I can get.

Dark plaid with some emerald green in it with Ex Libris Madras bandana moussie. Organza always feels like a holiday type of material too.

And this scarf has nothing at all to do with the holidays, except that one day (during spring or fall, I can't recall  ) I wore this out walking, and someone said what a nice Xmas scarf I had on.... :roflmfao:

Cherry Pink and Green Xmas for you then, Bains d'H

View attachment 6104389
Bains is a happy making colorway. And those madras are so classic
Too cold so it's cashmere day for me. Wearing my Orphee CSGM which reminds me of a mixed drink.

Sharing a cocktail from my home country, DH and I served this at our wedding. We had to reduce the amounts to make sure our guests didn't get drunk right away!

Weng Weng (serves 1)

  • 0.3 oz vodka
  • 0.3 oz white rum
  • 0.3 oz gin
  • 0.3 oz brandy or whisky
  • 0.3 oz tequila
  • 0.3 oz grenadine
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • ice

  1. Place ice in a glass
  2. Add all the liquor
  3. Add the pineapple juice and orange juice
  4. Top with grenadine
Enjoy!
This drink is everything and I don’t even drink haha. Orphee is so great, I love every colorway.

PS : busy week at work, I don't have much time to comment but your beautiful pictures are pure joy before holidays
Fully agree on the enjoyment of being able to hop on even to look at pictures. Joy indeed. Love your dip dye color
So this is my only real winter scarf, Plaisirs du Froid. It has been shown before but I don't think in this cw. I bought it some 25 or 30 years ago. It was love at first sight and it remains my most loved classic scarf because of its finely drawn figures, the subtle and somewhat old fashioned colouring in combination with the classic blue border and the gracefulness of the scenery. I tried an ondulation knot but only suceeded halfway due to my clumsiness. View attachment 6104582View attachment 6104583View attachment 6104585

Lol, that’s made not too far from here, on Vancouver Island! Twins on this as well as the Animapolis!! (Perfect sweater pairing, btw 🥰)
Well, my bar cart and I are suitable chastened but eager to step up our game! I shared your photos with my gin-savvy sister (that sounds worse than it is somehow) and she just laughed and said I was sadly late to the party. The good news is that next time I am in New Orleans I will be giving my pretty cart a make-over! Very partial to the Mermaid bottle and the Italicus because they are so lovely and the Taynton Bay for the cool narrative vibe and conversational value! Thank you so much for my "gin-timental education" @Lellabelle!!!!
No chastening whatsoever, dear ‘Nola! Just some shared enthusiasm ;)

Oh @mktlim this is a potent combination indeed! It must rival the Long
Island Iced Tea for mixing spirits, though this goes a step further by mixing spirits of different colours (LIIT is only clear spirits). That’s one way to guarantee a party 😆
I love Empress Gin also. We need more cocktail-related themes next year. With the ever more alarming news, alcohol and silk will be in constant use in 2025!
so true @momasaurus. Happy to do my part!
OMG! Weng weng must mean "knock me over and leave me dead."
Oh my goodness, I am dying with laughter 🤣.

@momasaurus @Lellabelle yes! I've provided a "toned down" recipe, the original calls for more alcohol! We refer to it as a traitorous drink in the Philippines, you can't taste the alcohol at all. 😂

This is not technically a winter scarf - being Splash Park I suppose it’s the opposite, but I’m so excited to have a scarf that more or less coordinates with my Norwegian sweater! These patterns are intricate and I never feel like any H scarves really go with them.

I guess it's OLEANA from Norway, my favourites. So very chic, Jereni!

I picked up an additional colorway of this design because I adore these ice fishermen. Ice fishing is our unofficial winter sport.

Fascinating post, and what a beautiful CW of L’Hiver en Poste. Is the border raisin? These are such elegant silks. Thank you for showing the matte blanc overlay too - so perfect for these exquisitely rendered snowy scenes ☃️
Happy hump day:smile: just wanted to stop by and share my new-in. I found this Equateur summer silk 140 (new with tags). Although I dislike the summer silk, I love the design in a larger format. I re-homed all of my 90 hoping to find a larger one - and here we go! I think I am sisters with Lanit and Croisette (?) - remember seeing those inspirations. Have a great rest of the week, all!

Wow @Ashanti_Rose. I have a few JLs in the collection but you are making quite the case for the larger formats. As you say, the scale makes for a different effect. The black is stunning on you!
I’m taking notes! I like to experiment while ensuring I have a secure supply of my beloved Barr Hill gin, produced in Vermont and redolent of honey. I hope to pair more H scarves and cocktails before the theme week is over!
Must look this one up, it sounds delicious!
Very interesting and enjoyable read.
Thank you!
Good morning!!!!

I can almost not hide my deep sorrow of this being my last at work in THIS YEAR!! - not!!! :happydance::drinks::yahoo:

So trying to be a little festive and even got a beer to match my Source de Pegasus. And a new pin (with a subtle cut the crab-message)

View attachment 6104557
Got grail mail Yesterday but will save that for another post 😉
And tonight I will even try and do some drink and scarf mixing to celebrate the beginning of the Holiday.

Wish you all a fabulous Day!!

Once again you have identified the perfect knot to showcase this design!
It looks like my knot-nemesis, the friendship knot (as in “I need a friend to tie it for me”! 🤭)

Good day, dear Scarfies, late to the party today because well, you know, holidays. I hope to catch up on your posts and mod shots later today.

Hermès’ had an ad on the website that was really sweet and made me realize that a gav can be dressed up in a festive way along with our other formats.

Brides et Destin is one of my recent purchases that I would consider mostly a summer scarf but guess what? It can be a holiday accessory, too! My SOTD.

And for those of you who enjoy gin and elderflower liqueur, here’s a cocktail from the Washington Post, appropriately titled French Blonde.
Ice
2 ounces Lillet Blanc
2 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
1 ounce dry gin, such as Monkey 47
1/2 ounce elderflower liqueur, such as St-Germain
3 dashes lemon bitters

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the Lillet Blanc, grapefruit juice, gin, elderflower liqueur and bitters. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously to chill and dilute. Double strain into a coupe glass and serve. Makes one drink.
