So I’m behind, what’s new, hope to catch up later, but I must introduce my new-to-me purchase, courtesy of a lovely collector here, and definitely on-theme. My newest Appaloosa :ty:. The herd is growing because this is my fourth  … I’m in love :hbeat:.

Loving the border and hem on this beauty and it is a great example of the border being a true part of the design which is an homage to the Shyrdak rug weaving tradition in Kyrgyzstan. Here is a photo of it flat:

Appaloosa is a worthy candidate for this week!

Good morning all! Today I am participating in @Coco2606's and @Lellabelle's "Is this covered in my closet?" adventure. This season, I purchased the mauve/periwinkle/gris nacre Costumes de Fete, which I am head over heels about. I thought I might also want a bright cw of Bajtlik's charming design. Last night my DH brought Zabavushka back from New Orleans where it had been left. So is a bright folkloric scarf with a terrific border covered, or is Costume de Fete so unusual I should keep the bright blue, cyclamen or cream one on my table awaiting its fate of return or keep?

Well- they all look spectacular on you! But if you are keeping 06, which also has a lot of cream in it, then the cream and black can probably safely be returned.

wow @Nomad between the different knots and different tops this looks like 2 different scarves! And thank you for the CdF love - I think imma have a hard time not getting multiples. I've got the curry, am debating the cream, and waiting to see the olive border

Even I do subdued every now and then - this is a calming look @Nhare

@CedarWaxWing squeeeeeeee Isadora!!! I love her! Beautiful Animaux too

@bunnycat this thread made me seek out a striped top. Mr Pickles needs a cardboard gokart!

@Coco2606 these are both beautiful! Will ping you if I espy a Pierre - I think I've seen a black one at a good price...

TY @Maedi

You are slaying me @ajaxbreaker - these are all fabulous! I love Aus and came close to bringing the navy home with me one day but have been holding out for a SD triangle (if only my scarf drawer was like Mary Poppins' handbag that could hold an infinite number of H beauties)

OMG yes on the Sgt Pepper @Karenska !

This is perfection on you @Karenska and it goes perfectly with the grey top!

@LKBNOLA I urge you to twin with me and @Redbirdhermes and keep the blue.
OMg- he so does....off to look up instructions now!

Out and about with ZP CSGT, with its darker rose border. I love this beauty and I am toasty warm in a cotton/silk sweater.

What a wonderful colorway Karenska!

Morning dilemmas...
Flowers or Cavaliers ?
I had a scarf with yellow hems yesterday so Cavaliers it is !

Oh wow these are both wonderful. What an interesting great color as the base of FoSa.
Todays scarf is one I used to wear a lot but hadn’t seen much action recently, I’ve fallen in love with Graff by Kongo all over again.

It does have a fairly wide black border which is hidden today.

View attachment 5689655
love this!! I am a hugr fan of graff. I only have one gav and love to wear it when I am feeling edgy. Mostly in my hair. It is even better in the larger format and I love it more w the border hiding. I struggle w borders
Yet again with some archive pics - I'm a sucker for a yellow contrast hem! If the bright shot of sunshine doesn't make you happy, what will

I always love an eye candy parade  . Love the earring match in your last photo. And I apparently just swoon over navy and green together (quartre)

Oh, and here is the Costumes de Fete cw06 that I most definitely am keeping. I think it makes a wonderful companion to my Zabavushka!
View attachment 5689793
Oh my!
I agree w etsy that the navy cream on that color sweater and in that tie is just SO cohesive and classy a look that it’s hard to say to myself its just the great “look” , don’t get distracted. Your pastel lights you up so checkmark. perfect choice. Tech the cream prob isn’t great against complexion. Your Zaba is the absolute best colors on you. It’s gorgeous and beautiful and and and.
Your pastel is my number one. The navy cream my least. And no help with the other beauties haha. My opinion on the bright blue as a whole is that the scarf enters the room first and only certain physical traits can come up to compete with it. It is dramatically gorgeous but I do not agree with others that this is the quintessential cw to put in collection (for collections sake). I think it is just the black and drama that pulls the most. I just love it! Love it! But want the best colors ”on me”. The design itself is an amazing addition to any collection for those who can handle busy and folk art. N That is not everyone. I have only been disappointed by chasing what I believe ( and others said) is ”THE” cw of a design. Red hem pytheas is my least fav in my trio. Black bateaux is my least fav and both hover the rehome pile even. I thought those were the quintessential must have cw‘s to own from what I had read. And on and on with other examples. I am no help :girlsigh:

This dusty pink is so special and love it on the soft white.
The left top appears to be the perfect match for the center cyclamen on Costume! I've looked through my entire sweater collection AND tops and came up with nada.

Absolutely dreamy is right!
Yeah lucky to have it in my closet ( chicos). They had a gorgeous red one I wanted more but didnt have my size, this was my second choice color haha. I am definitely going to actively look for more in different tones of this color. And Magjes, you not having the color is saying something! You have the best rainbow in your closet. You are my color inspiration Queen

Stunning scarves. I need to do some of those knots that show the hems better than my usual favorites. Yours look amazing, and such lovely choices of scarves.

What a parade ! Finally, one "Tous les bateaux ". Thank you especially for this one in particular
So, Sieste, ok, bateaux ok
Any Femme aux semelles de vent ? Maybe tomorrow?
Fantastic week !!

Not a hem featured here, just Grand Manege. This was likely acquired within the first 10 of my H collex (excluding ties, of course), meaning its provenance is early to mid 90's. I find that there's something stable and comforting in traditional patterns and colorways. On a day like this, when I need to unwind after shedding my courtroom "suit of armor" (or at least the jacket and tie), the unchallenging nature of an old school carré feels just right.

TY @MAGJES @Redbirdhermes @Coco2606 and @Lellabelle - for the longest time (like, 15 years) I didn’t ‘get’ the fuss over contrasting hems. Then I came here and saw exquisite knots and my credit card has never been the same!

Wow @Thelittlefoxes that SD knot shows off the border beautifully! I love how CI looks like different scarves when knotted differently. And as always amazing earrings!
