Happy Friday, Scarflandia! I could not let this week of Hems and Borders go by without posting the gorgeous and fun Objets de Curiosite from AW22. This is another design that gave me fits when choosing a cw! It was important to me that three design elements-- the bees, the (Greek) keys and the trees-- appear prominently in any cw I chose. They are all beautiful but not every cw met this requirement. I cycled through four possibilities in boutique and online purchases until finally settling on two I actually bought in the store. This is the second of my choices. I love the pearly winter white, cooler colors and blue hem. Also very thrilled to be double twins with lovely @Maedi on both the scarf ring and the cw, and also, can't resist a shot showing the perfect earrings I received as a recent gift. It is pouring rain and the light is very grey this morning...

The happiest of happy hems in a very very bright orange on the multicolor Sweet Dreams. (Also- no black anywhere!)

And also from this week- Chorus Stellarum with the fab lime green hem (that is not showing up well in my pic...)

Plus, a cameo with Miss Snickers.

And because I couldn't leave him out. It wouldn't be fair since Snickers got a photo op.

Sir Pickles awaits tribute on his throne. (PS- I love how the pillows match both Pickles and the bench... )

Well, so much going on in this post. First, that must be the happiest cw of Sweet Dreams ever. It’s so riotously joyous and it’s really beautiful on you, Bunny. Recalls our theme “So bright ya gotta wear shades!”. And, of course, your CS is gorgeous. A cw I would have chosen if the green had remained elusive.
2. Your Cats: oooh boy! A black cat is a thing of beauty. Snickers looks happy and she’s so beautiful. Did I say black? A ginger cat is a thing of beauty. Pickles is gorgeous. Now that’s orange! Is he Maine Coon? He looks perfectly comfortable and chic lounging amidst the grand pillows and bench. Pickles and Snickers could teach us a thing or two about feng shui!

I don’t believe I saw this cw of OdC, Lkbnola. It’s lovely! Unusual color combos and I love the Wedgewood blue. Your earrings are so pretty, a wonderful gift. They are absolutely perfect with this scarf. I think I will wear my satellite ring today.

Thank you @Cookiefiend , @Nomad @Snausages and all the silky likers! So far we are still huddling from the storm and have a day and a half to dry out before the next round of ‘atmospheric rivers’ hit this weekend. A few more favorites to share. Such a noticeable change in direction by H lately on scarf designs. I miss the reissues of past designs (other than Brides de Gala) which always seems to permeate H collection ( eyerolling emoji here).

Two classics I will not release ever? la Femme by Aline Honore and Marwari by Annie Faivre.

It will be 45 years this August @bunnycat so I think I will have to keep DH-- that return window has closed!
 perfect! Many congratulations to you both

New Scarf Frenzy sounds a lot like a malady I suffer from: Acute Scarf Acquisition Syndrome...
Lol, I had forgotten about that one. Possibly deliberately, as I was afflicted with it all through the pandemic… I think they’re variants of the same condition!

This is actually a really really important point to make @Nomad and I am not sure if there is a whole theme week devoted to "The Disappointing Grail" but it has happened to me-- seeking a particular cw because it was elusive and coveted so very beautiful and then when I finally found one, feeling a bit of a letdown. Like you Bateaux and Pytheas-- even after I found my "grail" cws, were not crossed off my list and I am much happier with subsequent purchases...For me it has to do with coming to the collecting world later and trying to "backfill" designs from prior seasons. I am better at being discerning when I can actually try the carious options so hopefully there will be fewer regrets and changes of heart going forward!
Such a great point, @LKBNOLA. There are great scarves, and there are scarves that are great on us. Sometimes they align, but often they don’t. It’s easier on the wallet when they don’t, as less favoured designs and colourways can show up later as bargains (in H terms!).

We are all susceptible to it, too, however new or experienced we are. I have obsessed over many a design or colourway because I saw it on MaiTai’s blog, who looked amazing, of course, but nothing like me! It’s the same with mod shots here: there are scarfies who look incredible in designs or colours that would never work for me. But I do love to enjoy them here instead!

I don’t know if that temptation ever disappears, but I think with time we get a good sense of the difference between what is great, and what is great on us. It’s the ‘great on someone else’ that can send us into a cycle of self-doubt!

Severely behind on this week’s lovely theme and your posts, but I wanted to share my SOTD with its happy hem: Sur Mon Nuage

Echoing @GloWW0rM today with the bicolor striped hem on Sur Mon Nuage.

Perfect examples of where you both chose just the right colourway for you, and how you both shine in the scarf and not the other way around.
@Redbirdhermes, I am so glad you kept looking until you found this one. It’s just fabulous on you, and a meaningful design too with the planes.

This is a gorgeous colorway on you, LKB. This scarf design, in particular, made me wish I lived closer to a boutique where I could see the scarves. The tiny pictures all looked about the same on my cell phone. It was very frustrating. I may have the best colorway for myself, or I may not. In any case, I love seeing you wear your beauties, using such lovely ties. Thank you so much for sharing.
