Just back from Bangkok! Yes, I did drop by the Hermes opposite my hotel, but they didn't have the SS23 scarf designs I wanted. I did buy a scarf from another designer brand and will show it for Cheating Hearts week

And I found something cute in my news feed. The late Queen was known for her H scarves. Here is Charles with a T-Rex necktie which I'm pretty sure is an H design: Pas de Lezards.

Good morning all! Today I am participating in @Coco2606's and @Lellabelle's "Is this covered in my closet?" adventure. This season, I purchased the mauve/periwinkle/gris nacre Costumes de Fete, which I am head over heels about. I thought I might also want a bright cw of Bajtlik's charming design. Last night my DH brought Zabavushka back from New Orleans where it had been left. So is a bright folkloric scarf with a terrific border covered, or is Costume de Fete so unusual I should keep the bright blue, cyclamen or cream one on my table awaiting its fate of return or keep?

The cream one is too similar to your first love in its overall more subdued appearance. Both the bright blue and cyclamon are fab. Oh dear, I am no help.

So I’m behind, what’s new, hope to catch up later, but I must introduce my new-to-me purchase, courtesy of a lovely collector here, and definitely on-theme. My newest Appaloosa :ty:. The herd is growing because this is my fourth  … I’m in love :hbeat:.

Loving the border and hem on this beauty and it is a great example of the border being a true part of the design which is an homage to the Shyrdak rug weaving tradition in Kyrgyzstan. Here is a photo of it flat:

A beautiful Appaloosa, Karen. A wonderful addition to your stable of ponies.

Y'all are just great. So thoughtful. The cream was always going back but it does prove it pays to check IRL. I generally have trouble with that much vanilla color next to my skin tone. The periwinkle is much better and the greens in the center of the cyclamen cw are just stunning. The blue Costumes feels destined to be a classic. Thank you both for the help @Lellabelle and @Redbirdhermes.
My favourite on you is is actually the 06 that you chose first, which is gorgeous on you!

Thank you @Cookiefiend , @Nomad @Snausages and all the silky likers! So far we are still huddling from the storm and have a day and a half to dry out before the next round of ‘atmospheric rivers’ hit this weekend. A few more favorites to share. Such a noticeable change in direction by H lately on scarf designs. I miss the reissues of past designs (other than Brides de Gala) which always seems to permeate H collection ( eyerolling emoji here).

Two classics I will not release ever? la Femme by Aline Honore and Marwari by Annie Faivre.

Sotd. Fun border on cocottes de soie. Silk is a big fav design for me. One less item in my closet though haha. The Shawl sweater is currently in the donate pile due to being allergic to the wool in it  . Immediate improvement when took off when got home.

Always wanted this design, and such a rare color way @Nomad !

Your Zababushka is a stunner! Another testament to why this scarf is a grail one! The costumes are all lovely - but fade in comparison with Zabavushka (especially it is interesting when looking at the scarves side by side - great exercise!).. If I had the funds to spend, I would splurge for another CW of Zabavushka in exchange for three Costumes:smile:)))...
Thank you @Ashanti_Rose --- if only! I have had my Zabavushka a long time-- an early early gift before I "collected" and I was quite shocked to see how rare and costly the design has become. I hope @Nomad and others will post some of the beauties that appeared in the Holiday weeks...
@LKBNOLA I urge you to twin with me and @Redbirdhermes and keep the blue.
They are all so pretty. I quite like the cream / black paired with your burgundy top. The whole look is so cohesive and makes your hair color look gorgeous. The cyclamen with your royal blue top and yellow in the ends showing is happiness! And that blue / black one.... swoon. It's delicious but in my opinion is the one most like your original.
After reviewing your mod shots, @LKBNOLA, I must agree with @Redbirdhermes and @Lellabelle ‘s wisdom. The blue looks amazing on you. They all do, really, but the blanc is too close in look to your Zaba, which BTW is STUNNING :eek:and so is your beautiful cw 06. The pink is lovely, too. But that blue! I was partial to it, but also the vermillion/blue border, but I don’t know. Hmmmmm.
Thank you @Snausages, @EtsyBoss and @Karenska for your help. When I saw Costumes, I immediately thought of Zabavushka and was frustrated that mine was not with me to compare. Now that I have and with all y'all's help, I think the best closet pairing is Costumes 06 and my Zaba, with perhaps a cyclamen or blue Costumes.... Fortunately I have 21 or so days left to agonize over it!
Spectacular hems!

Thank you LKB for the scarf love!
My little cutie is just the sweetest thing ever. I am "Mimi" to the grandkids but she calls me "MyMimi."

Thank you!
Your colorway is stunning paired with black. I'm off right now to try that pleated knot!
Thank you @MAGJES-- so special when the little ones give you a special nickname! And you will love the ease and drama of the knot!
Yeah- way past the retune window, and the "update this model" window.... The do party hard when they are young. Last night was another (!!!) round of Formula One through the house at about 4:30 AM...
Well- they all look spectacular on you! But if you are keeping 06, which also has a lot of cream in it, then the cream and black can probably safely be returned.
All are simply fabulous!
 @bunnycat --Formula One! And thank you to you and @MAGJES-- I thought it might also be interesting to see another folkloric design along with Costumes too! And yes, between the two "neutrals" 06 is a dream and 05 is just... good.
Oh my!
I agree w etsy that the navy cream on that color sweater and in that tie is just SO cohesive and classy a look that it’s hard to say to myself its just the great “look” , don’t get distracted. Your pastel lights you up so checkmark. perfect choice. Tech the cream prob isn’t great against complexion. Your Zaba is the absolute best colors on you. It’s gorgeous and beautiful and and and.
Your pastel is my number one. The navy cream my least. And no help with the other beauties haha. My opinion on the bright blue as a whole is that the scarf enters the room first and only certain physical traits can come up to compete with it. It is dramatically gorgeous but I do not agree with others that this is the quintessential cw to put in collection (for collections sake). I think it is just the black and drama that pulls the most. I just love it! Love it! But want the best colors ”on me”. The design itself is an amazing addition to any collection for those who can handle busy and folk art. N That is not everyone. I have only been disappointed by chasing what I believe ( and others said) is ”THE” cw of a design. Red hem pytheas is my least fav in my trio. Black bateaux is my least fav and both hover the rehome pile even. I thought those were the quintessential must have cw‘s to own from what I had read. And on and on with other examples. I am no help :girlsigh:
This is actually a really really important point to make @Nomad and I am not sure if there is a whole theme week devoted to "The Disappointing Grail" but it has happened to me-- seeking a particular cw because it was elusive and coveted so very beautiful and then when I finally found one, feeling a bit of a letdown. Like you Bateaux and Pytheas-- even after I found my "grail" cws, were not crossed off my list and I am much happier with subsequent purchases...For me it has to do with coming to the collecting world later and trying to "backfill" designs from prior seasons. I am better at being discerning when I can actually try the carious options so hopefully there will be fewer regrets and changes of heart going forward!
Inspired by @Redbirdhermes to do a rainbow of hems
Red (well, pink) 3 graces
Orange - tout le bateaux
Yellow - Zebra Pegasus gt
Green - Tigre Royal doubledace
Blue - Sur mon Nuage (actual SOTD)
Violet - Animapolis which has a black hem and that’s the closest I’ve got

Just great to use @Redbirdhermes' rainbow hem rubric with your own scarves-- and what fabulous examples and knots to show them off. That Three Graces and your ZP triangle are *chef's kiss* on you...
Twins with @Pirula: The perfect border of Savana Dance; my first Hermès scarf and a particularly lovely gift.

Beautiful on you and what a great knot for the border...a memorable start to your H journey @Thelittlefoxes!

Welcome home and thank you for the fun post @xincinsin!
The cream one is too similar to your first love in its overall more subdued appearance. Both the bright blue and cyclamon are fab. Oh dear, I am no help.
Really it is H that is no help @Maedi-- always tempting us to multiples or duplicates...
My favourite on you is is actually the 06 that you chose first, which is gorgeous on you!
Thank you @Lellabelle-- when you know you know and it is just a magical feeling. There it is! And your heart beats faster as they take it from the case and spread it out for your delectation...
Love Robe du Soir‘s border, an unusual pink contrasting hem but a perfect foil for the steely grey blue edges. Act I is pne of my fav coral colored shawls with a potiron hem.

Have a great weekend! Licorne shawl keeping me warm.

Such beautiful mosd shots and silks @lanit. I hope you stay warm, dry and safe. I have family who are in the thick of your awful weather so have been following with concern. I love your selections (twins and sisters on many) but your lovely Licorne shawl is so eye-catching! Nor wouold I ever part with any of these designs--so very special...

TY @Nomad @Cookiefiend and @LKBNOLA for the Pierre Loti love. Here’s a flat photo - you can see why I refer to it as the weirdest scarf ever. I love things that make the uninitiated think ‘Hermes did THAT?!’ which is yet another reason I love Jan Bajtlik

Anyhow, Pierre Loti was an eccentric naval explorer known for his wild diaries
