Resolution number 7: Maximum gratitude
I would like to express my gratitude more spontaneously and more often this year.
I am very lucky to have such beautiful scarves, to be able to benefit from the forum and from your wise advice.
Happy New Year to all of you!
SOTD, The spirit of the forest. I have been resisting buying it in other colours but it's difficult because I love this pattern. This one really goes with everything, even this yellow jumper. The scarf stays, the jumper not so sure (but that's another story!)
Anyway, thank you, thank you!

Bonus: the "beans" /"fèves " for the "galettes des rois" that I will prepare for the family meal. Who will be the king and queen of the day? (In France, we celebrate the Epiphany by sharing a pastry cake filled with almond cream. A "fève" is hidden inside the cake and the one who finds it is king)

Beautiful pairing! The sweater looks perfectly matched with this scarf! I do like this design very much - every cornder looks different thus allowing a multitude of various ties!!! Congratulations on your purchase!

My most precious and beloved shawl is my embroidered Tigre Royal. Holiest grail of grails for me… ❤️ I am wearing it enthusiastically from time to time but it still should be out of the drawer more often... Resolution kept today! It had been worn to a concert:

Simply stunning Sammy!!:ps:This is truly exceptional:flowers:

Random question, but this seems like the best sub on which to post (if not feel free to move it ). It looks like I’ll be transferring with my job to Hawaii this year and hate to think about leaving my silks behind. I’ve bought several while in Honolulu but have never actually seen anyone wearing them there. Are there any Hawaii ladies on this forum ? If so, how do you style your scarves?
Congratulations on your transfer - that is so exciting indeed. I am sure you can wear your scarves in Hawaii - depending on your life style and activities:) True - you might not need a scarf to go scuba diving LOL, but why not wear one when going out for dinner, etc? I do not live in Hawaii (I wiiiishhh!!!!!!) but I live on the East Coast and still with humiidity and hight temperature find that I wear cashmere 140 shawls more in summer than in winter (I know it sounds odd) but as A/Cs are at full blast in office buidlings, so I carry a shawl with me to wear every single day. I have an inventory of summer/spring shawls and same for winter - so maybe your collection will evolve since you will be living in the tropical climate:) So don't leave your silks behind - wear and enjoy them! Just make sure that you store them well - I think the tropical humidity might be challenging to properly store them! Best of luck on your transfer and move!

So beautiful and elegant, Sammy, and absolutely chic. Oh my! What a fabulous scarf. I can see why you consider it your most treasured grail.

SOTD is a brand new CSGM.. Mon Premier Galop.. keeping up the NY resolution to try out softer colors. I'm liking it, and I think my sweet puppers does too.

Sorry for the low light. I leave in the dark and return in the dark for work.
Twinsies @Maedi ! It’s such a unique combination of colors
YES! You and me both! Happy we are now Baobab Cat twins!

Stunning color!

Beautiful with green!
TY @MAGJES
Hi:wave:twin! Love how you paired it with camel! Must try this!!:flowers:

What an amazing design, so stunning!:flowers:

You have the coolest jewelry!:flowers:

How in the heck did you wrangle that!?!?!!?:shrugs:

@Julide 140s and pareos are So. Much. Fabric. The first decision I make is how long I want it to be and from then on it’s improv. This is a friendship knot with the ends pulled up and woven under the pre-knot part
Another New Year's Resolution: give each of my 12 or so "duplicates" equal time! I will usually purchase at least one design each season in two cws, usually contrasting light and dark to match my seasonal clothing options, when I feel they will be what I fondly call "outfit makers." Now I have about a dozen of these duplicates and I have given myself a strict resolution to justify my purchases! Here is my second cw of a much loved design: Laboratoire du Temps, in a green/gray/white cw that totally won my heart and is a good contrast to my brighter one (thumbnail mod shot below).

@Coco2606 this is a great pairing!
This week has been a great start to 2023 with hearing everyone's New Year's resolutions, and seeing lots of scarves. It has been a good time to review my own collection and think about where it's at and where I'd like to go this year. Thank you, @bunnycat , for getting us off to a great start for the year.

I pulled out my red Jungle Love Tatouage (Tattoo) to wear today, thinking that it was an example of where I was following a popular trend. Certain scarves are popular for a reason, and adding them to a collection should be considered. However, I feel that I need to resolve to be more careful about following trends. For example, I hadn't been on this scarf forum for very long before I found that people really, really like jacquard fabric scarves. They are certainly nice, but I don't really get all that excited by them, and this past year I sold three of my jacquard scarves. One reason that I purchased this Jungle Love Tatouage was because it had a bee jacquard.

Last night I was looking at bunny's IG post about her new Jungle Love stamped 70, and admiring it very much, and thinking that perhaps this beauty would have a place in my collection.

View attachment 5685246

Then, it occurred to me that a resolution posted earlier this week might make more sense for me today. Shop your collection. (Thank you, @Coco2606 .) My JL Tattoo lacks Gianpaolo Pagni's clever embellishments, but it is still based on a red tattoo version of Dallet's gorgeous design. So, I’ll attempt to make it work.

My scarf of the day is Jungle Love Tatouage.

Love the bright in winter @Redbirdhermes
This thread moves just too fast for me… Am late. However, still wishing you all a very happy, healthy and colourful New Year! ❤️ Dear @bunnycat, this is a wonderful theme to start the year! Thank you! It got me thinking… Am echoing many of you with my scarf resolution for 2023: I promised myself to wear those scarves more often that I love but which still don‘t come out a lot. One of them is my Palette fringed stole. Dear @Redbirdhermes gave me the idea when posting her breathtaking marble fringed stole. Thank you! :flowers: I always wanted to emphize the wonderful length of my stole but this wish made it more difficult to actually wear the stole. Copying @Redbirdhermes style and sticking to my first resolution on January 1, 2023 itself:

2nd resolution: Re-home those scarfs that are always left in the drawer because they are not me. This is very difficult for me. To let go. Hmmm. For once I am wishing for a scarf police… :giggle:

Have been true to my next resolution “purchase less scarves, avoid colours that are already sufficiently available in my collection“ for exactly 4 days. On day 5, another light blue mousse was singing to me… Nothing I could do but get it. ❤️ My yesterday‘s SOTD Sangles en Zig Zag Pois Rainbow:

@Sammy Royal the pois moussie is absolutely an exception to any rule! Would love to see the shawl flat at some point - I love embroidery
It must be Saturday. I am trying to catch up. This thread MOVES!! I will respond in a few blocks to avoid a gargantuan mega-quote.

Thanks you, maedi! I love this one unreservedly. It is one of my grab if the house is on fire scarves.

Coco - I love this L'Ivresse. You are twins with @Cookiefiend, if I am not mistaken. This is a beautiful design, and I am often tempted by this colorway and the green because I love my red one so well. However, I think this is much more successful on others than it would be on me, as it falls outside of my personal scarf rules in other colorways. So I will (try to) be content to admire it on you!

Katharine Luise, this is drop dead gorgeous, and you have modelled it perfectly! 10 out of 10!!!!

Dear glow, this is a beauty. I too love the wash scarves and am sad they are an endangered species. Great choice!

Lkb, this is the cw of elek that I would like if I ever find it. But first I should find a pot of gold. The reseller market is not cheap!!!

Bunny, this scarf is perfect on you. And non-black is a definite challenge!

Holy heck, fifi! I don't know if I haven't seen this colorway before or if I just didn't appreciate its beauty. You have perfected the art of wearing this one. :faint:

Gorgeous, snausages! Flamingo Party is a lovely design in pareo format. Bravo!

On theme at last. Here is one of several ccp stories my collection could tell.

Some of you know of my affection for moussies. And a few may know how I adore @Cookiefiend 's tourbillons. This is my tale of trying to find that magic (which, spoiler, remains somewhat elusive, although I do feel like I have scratched the itch).

I saw this tourbillons early-ish in my moussie collecting and I think hoped I could will it to be cookie's colorway upon arrival. No such luck.

Next up with this Arabesques, which is closer (my second cw)

And most recently my Toile, which while not the same as cookie's, got me that deep red I was looking for.

Gavs are indeed a consolation! And that sweet little something that satisfies, like a Godiva chocolate. I love my gavs and wear them alot. When I was in LHR in 2019 with little time to spare, I almost bought this gav because there was no real time to shop for a 90. But I was indecisive and waffled, even though it was the perfect lil souvenir. My regret was instantaneous, as I kicked myself down the aisle to my seat :bagslap:.
A few months later I bought it at Madison Ave by mail, and now it is indeed my sweet souvenir from my wonderful trip to England Autumn 2019 regardless that I bought it in my own home state. Archive shot with lovely glass scarf ring by desr @bunnycat.

SOTD: sunny Splash Park CSGM, representing my resolution to have more FUN this year! Between teenagers and elderly parents, 2022 was more stressful than fun (with no vacations), but in 2023+ I’m aiming to create my own fun whenever I can!

Thank you for sharing so I can enjoy vicariously (likely as close as I will get to this beauty!). I hope she gets lots of outings, and that you share lots more pictures for us to enjoy!
