Resolution number 7: Maximum gratitude
I would like to express my gratitude more spontaneously and more often this year.
I am very lucky to have such beautiful scarves, to be able to benefit from the forum and from your wise advice.
Happy New Year to all of you!
SOTD, The spirit of the forest. I have been resisting buying it in other colours but it's difficult because I love this pattern. This one really goes with everything, even this yellow jumper. The scarf stays, the jumper not so sure (but that's another story!)
Anyway, thank you, thank you!

Bonus: the "beans" /"fèves " for the "galettes des rois" that I will prepare for the family meal. Who will be the king and queen of the day? (In France, we celebrate the Epiphany by sharing a pastry cake filled with almond cream. A "fève" is hidden inside the cake and the one who finds it is king)

The scarf is a beauty and the sweater must stay to accompany it. Such a good match.
Now on to the fèves- they are delightful. Are they antiques? The cat...

Thank you so much !
I don't think they are very old, but they represent the work of a very famous earthenware factory, their cat in particular. You can find some lovely fava beans at flea markets as there are often collectors, "favophiles". I don't think there is an H scarf on this theme but it makes me think about "Cave felem", a real grail to me!

If you want to now more about the cat

This week has been a great start to 2023 with hearing everyone's New Year's resolutions, and seeing lots of scarves. It has been a good time to review my own collection and think about where it's at and where I'd like to go this year. Thank you, @bunnycat , for getting us off to a great start for the year.

I pulled out my red Jungle Love Tatouage (Tattoo) to wear today, thinking that it was an example of where I was following a popular trend. Certain scarves are popular for a reason, and adding them to a collection should be considered. However, I feel that I need to resolve to be more careful about following trends. For example, I hadn't been on this scarf forum for very long before I found that people really, really like jacquard fabric scarves. They are certainly nice, but I don't really get all that excited by them, and this past year I sold three of my jacquard scarves. One reason that I purchased this Jungle Love Tatouage was because it had a bee jacquard.

Last night I was looking at bunny's IG post about her new Jungle Love stamped 70, and admiring it very much, and thinking that perhaps this beauty would have a place in my collection.

Then, it occurred to me that a resolution posted earlier this week might make more sense for me today. Shop your collection. (Thank you, @Coco2606 .) My JL Tattoo lacks Gianpaolo Pagni's clever embellishments, but it is still based on a red tattoo version of Dallet's gorgeous design. So, I’ll attempt to make it work.

My scarf of the day is Jungle Love Tatouage.

Your POTD (Pearls Of The Day) are as amazing as your scarf, @Redbirdhermes! I love the soft sheen the snow gives them. Sometimes I wonder which I more covet, scarf or pearls, pearls or scarf?

SOTD: sunny Splash Park CSGM, representing my resolution to have more FUN this year! Between teenagers and elderly parents, 2022 was more stressful than fun (with no vacations), but in 2023+ I’m aiming to create my own fun whenever I can!

Love this resolution and amen to that sister. Sandwich gen between elderly parents and teens is not fun at all. We tech got a vacation ( I guess??) when we did drive of college tours on way to a swim competition. So not really haha. To the year of more fun!!
And this is a fun happy scarf

Thank you, Marie-the-Mary. This pearl rope is a very special piece from Pearl Paradise consisting of a mix of South Sea pearls of all shapes and colors. The snow works as a perfect light box, bringing out all of the pearls' overtones. Unfortunately for me, it is too cold to wear them like this outdoors this time of year. As far as pearls or scarves, well, you see why I have to wear both!

Completely sympathize with you about elderly parents and teenagers @cali_to_ny. Caught in similar generational stress right with you. 2022 was one of the most stressful years. Your blond hair is ravishing in that sunlight and your Splash Park is the perfect accessory. We are twins on it! Totally agree it is the perfect scarf to run with as much FUN as we can find... or make <3

Thank you @Karenska and @Awillow for your many lovely mega-multi quote comments! Forgive me for not requoting you but the appreciation is no less heartfelt!

Very lovely @leechiyong and there's that ring I love!

Beautiful on you @Coco2606-- and we have the tradition of King Cake in New Orleans also! Starting on Epiphany and continuing to Mardi Gras it is traditonal to always have one on hand to offer family and guests. In many offices they are brought in every Friday and whoever gets the baby must bring the next cake! The New Orleans King Cakes are different from the traditional Galette de Roi, which we also have but they have their own appeal and there are rival bakeries and people who are loyal to one flavor only etc. We love them in my house and the kids always love getting the "feve"...

We can be a mutual cheerleading squad for each other @bunnycat!

This is a fabulous analysis and a great example of shopping your closet @Redbirdhermes -- the way you tied your Tattoo is a perfect approximation of the stamped 70...especially with your outfit colors.

What a beautiful fringed stole @Sammy Royal-- a truly unique piece! And as for the adorable moussie bandana-- well, we are twins  too cute to resist no matter what resolutions we were nobly trying to keep! Love it with the striped shirt and sweater. The dangly earrings reflect the dots in the nicest way...
Thank you so much! I have hoped that I would find understanding souls here… Happy to be your twin! ❤️
I can totally see why your resistance was challenged, @Sammy Royal, this is such a fun silk! Are the little ‘pois’ flower buds, or jewels, or something else? Its fantastic on you, and such a useful size. Enjoy!
Thank you, dear Lellabelle! The dots are fabric put on the mousse, they are not embroidered or jewels. This is why the mousse is still light and airy.
That fringe is spectacular on this Sammy!

And well- I can definitely understand the  at first sight on this rainbow dotted moussie.

Yowza! The Tourbillons is a pink and orange changeant, so there isn't a lot of contrast, but a lot of "glow" and that is difficult to photograph... The other one is a bronze and orange (?) changeant, so there is lots of contrast to pick up in photos. So pretty! And I understand totally the search for that deep red! Beautiful and congrats!
Thank you so much, dear bunnycat! :flowers:
This is also on my 2023 list!!
Looking forward to being twins with you!
Love that fringed stole on you and glad to be of help on getting it out of your scarf drawer and around the neck. I, too, wish there were a way to safely show off the marvelous length. But, safety must come first when wearing cloth around the neck, particularly with these dangly bits. I think this is a good compromise.
Totally agree! Thank you again so much! Fringy had already been worn twice this week!!
Simply divine, Sammy :faint:. What a statement scarf!
Thank you, dear Karenska! ❤️ Hope that you will be feeling better soon!!!

On theme at last. Here is one of several ccp stories my collection could tell.

Some of you know of my affection for moussies. And a few may know how I adore @Cookiefiend 's tourbillons. This is my tale of trying to find that magic (which, spoiler, remains somewhat elusive, although I do feel like I have scratched the itch).

I saw this tourbillons early-ish in my moussie collecting and I think hoped I could will it to be cookie's colorway upon arrival. No such luck.

Next up with this Arabesques, which is closer (my second cw)

And most recently my Toile, which while not the same as cookie's, got me that deep red I was looking for.

And here is the tourbillons not tourbillons roundup

I may dip a toe in the rehoming water...
Your moussies are all gorgeous but the Toile is out of this world beautiful… ❤️
