Thank you for the kind comments, Maedi. After I posted my light blue scarf photos, I noticed that half the time I paired them with gray tops. Those scarves look more washed out. So I decided to post Bottes with a light and a dark top. I think the scarf is more striking with the dark navy blue top. Note that I wore Mineraux with a dark red top (I was thinking of the colors in watermelon tourmaline) and that scarf does pop more than the Peuple du Vent on gray below it. Something I have learned and will need to remember when selecting my outfit for the day.

As for Faubourg Tropical, I had recently acquired the Milan Limited Edition, which had colors very similar to this colorway, except that the border is pink. It was a close call, because I do love that blue colorway, but the LE won. (Please excuse the browning of the pink in the lower right of the LE photo. The light was uneven and it really affected those colors. The pink flowers there were exactly the same in both colorways.)

Very interesting that the colors are so close. Thank you for the additional pictures. I just pulled mine out, artificial light and all and tied it with more of the inner green showing. Now I love it again. It signals longer days and spring.
I wish I had more of your analytical approach when it comes to certain scarves and really enjoy reading your thoughts.

Any news from @Karenska ? I hope she is OK...
I have managed to wear non black 2 times and all black 2 times so far in my "wear less black in winter" resolution... 50/50 is a win win!

Whaou ! You rock !!
Your new jumper matches your scarf perfectly. It’s been really wet, grey and dreary where I live, and your hot pink sweater definitely brightens these kinds of winter days.
Thanks ! Same weather here... Colorfull scarves and cashmere are my antidote !

Resolution 5: let it go!

I think I've found the perfect anthem for the cruel dilemmas of the sorting collector. If my scarves could talk, I'm sure they'd be singing the Clash lyrics... (And I'd rather have that tune in my head than the Snow Queen... sorry if I polluted your eardrums...)

Until recently, the idea of rehousing a scarf was unthinkable for me. Nevertheless, the recent inventory is positive in that it makes me take a step back. So does @momasaurus ' courageous approach.
Anyway, I first considered the "butterflies in the stomach" effect that absolutely defines the favourites. Instead of wondering who should go, I prefer to select those I want to cherish (I have a lot of love to give). Finally, here is the pile of "slightly less loved than the others". I'd love your opinion.

I have to say that once the boxes were opened, it was like the first day again!
So should they stay or should they go?
SOTD, which almost went in the pile of all dangers and then I remembered that it looks great on black and goes well with this mohair jumper.

That Nuba Mountain is fabulous on you! :choochoo:
Earrings, ring and bracelet all compliment, too ;)

Radiant ! Nice jewellery too, especially the earings !

Beautiful combos @Katharina Luise -- I can see why Nuba Mountain was the orange slope that started your slide down to H love! And you clic is gorgeous-- you are making me want one!
Thank you all for your nice words dear @Lellabelle, @Coco2606 and @LKBNOLA!
The Hermès jewelry startet another slippy slope for me last year :giggle: I love the clics and clic clacs because you can always find one matching your scarves  But as terrible for my wallet as my scarf addiction.

Thank you @Coco2606, @Thelittlefoxes, @Living.la.vida.fifi, @Cookiefiend, @bunnycat and @Snausages for your comments and everyone for the likes-- it is hard not to love an ELeK! Looking forward to trying new pairing suggestions...
Dear Scarfies, Not going to be on the thread for a couple of days. I slipped on my stairs and am at the dr for an exam and xray script. I may have broken ribs. Praying not. Too distracted to concentrate on anything but this newest “illness”. What a five weeks it’s been. I’ll catch up when I feel better. You all are showing off some beauties. Take care :hugs:.
Oh, my goodness, terrible news @Karenska. I hope you will be able to update us later and sending best wishes for a speedy recovery and nothing broken! :hugs:
They didn't even have lipsticks, I think! It was a very small store. And there were no new season scarves when I stopped on the way back.

So I bought a scarf today, like just now, that I've wanted for a long time and found at a great price: The Amazone gavroche. Which, uh, has a fair amount of orange. And a horse.

(But it's a celebratory purchase! My mom got out of surgery in good shape today and the procedure was much less invasive than expected!)
:roflmfao: @FizzyWater that is so funny but good news on the scarf front and excellent to hear your mom did so well. May she continue her recovery apace!

Wow! Look at this fabulosity @bunnycat-- love the center design peeking out among the swirls...
I thought I was gonna be out for a brief errand but ended up being out for almost 5 hours between one thing and the other!
Pani la Shar Pawnee was my companion

That is a specacular Pani le Shar @Living.la.vida.fifi and a beautiful pairing with your cobalt top!
This year I’m trying to identify holes in my 90s and (as someone said before me) shop my collection. The holes I can identify are warm greens (mostly dark), peachy pink, and the lack of anything with a strong border. As for shopping my collection, I was tempted by the cat scarf last season in the gorgeous beige dore until I remembered I had a similar style scarf with the gorgeous color fades with my feux du ciel!

View attachment 5683560
A very very beautiful Feux du Ciel @laurenad! I just added this design last summer but mine is a fireworks cw! I also succumbed to Le Chat Carre in a very different cw. The comparison of the brushstrokes was made over on the seasonal thread and I think there's a more psychedelic, even a dreamy quality to the Sefedin while taking nothing away from Manlik. Definite similarities! Especially if you were choosing a close cw as you were considering. Of course as @Nomad points out, you do have cat anatomy to contend with as well...

Who says pareos are just for summer?! There is so much fabric this Flamingo Party that found me through the magic of @Living.la.vida.fifi kept me warm

If you fall in love all over again when you open the box, that right there is an argument against rehoming! A second argument would be this lovely mod shot @Coco2606 -- to be sure this is different from your trademark brights but it is lovely on you and has a place with your winter sweaters. But I bet it would look wonderful on white or lighter blue or green for summer as well. I say keep them all but it is good to look more critically as your collection grows... And yes, now I have an "earworm" for the day thanks to Clash!

I love that GTN, I have it and it’s one of my favorites. I can imagine it would look stunning against your hair color!

Today was my orange H-Day! With the intention of wearing the bolder colors from my collection and wearing at least one scarf per day! In the morning I wore my CSGM Balade en Berline which I already showed in December
Later I changed to my first Hermès scarf. The one that started it all
Nuba Mountain with the lion peeking out from the front.
And wearing my orange Clic ;) View attachment 5683172View attachment 5683173
Beautifully styled - you look great. I love an H orange scarf and with the clic clac and earrings it’s even better. That’s the “problem” with Hermes. You start with the scarves but then their bracelets match so well, and the other jewelry is so nice, and then you need a handbag, and, and, and … Resistance is futile.

“Should I Stay or Should I Go” is a wonderful theme song, @Coco2606 . Thank you for sharing. It nicely sums up my dilemma today.

It was two years ago, as I was sitting on a cold winter’s day in my lake cabin looking out at our lake all covered with ice fishing huts, that I found that La Vie du Grand Nord actually has ice fishermen on the scarf. I presume this is a unique feature to this particular Hermès design, as ice fishing is uncommon in most parts of the world. Anyway, I found and ordered this brown colorway on the spot.

20230104_121520.jpg20230104_121506.jpg

Now, the brown colorway is not a favorite so I’m thinking of putting this scarf into the CCP. But first, I did a little research into what colors are available. I discovered a thread from 2010 devoted to this design, and it was so fun to read all the excited comments as various colorways appeared in boutiques around the world. It seems that the purple was a particular favorite, but the brown was beloved as well as it shows the animals in their more natural colors.

My resolution is to hunt for another colorway of La Vie du Grand Nord this year. Should the brown stay or should it go? I think I’ll have to wait and see.

La Vie du Grand Nord is my Scarf of the Day. This scarf about Life in the North is especially appropriate as we dig out of fifteen inches of snow today.

This is beautiful. I have two cws of this design (I fell in love with the animals!) from the 2004 issue. This "brown" cw is very close to the maroon one that I have-- in fact they are often confused in photos. I hope you find your ideal cw-- there were some real beauties in the 2010 reissue so I can understand the excitement on TPF! Plus, the fact that you actually go ice-fishing means you must find the perfect one to make you happy.

Superb with purple ! Such warm colors contrasting with the design... all the fur

The brown does look lifelike, so I vote keep it!

My SOTD is my new cw11 of Jaguar Quetzal. This started off being a CCP but has ended up being a duplicate. It started as a CCP on my very first JQ: the beautiful blue/brown/black. This was an early and beloved Alice Shirley in my collection but she and I have parted company on good terms. We had many joyful outings together, a beautiful complement to my then younger, brunette self. (Old mod shot pre-grey hair and lipstick adventures below.) I decided to find another, brighter JQ and last year I found cw02, a red/blue/green one-- quite dramatic for me. Even so I was in scarf lust with cw11 and kept an eye out-- y'all know how that is! In December I found cw11 but I simply cannot part with cw02! My beloved blue has found a new home with my beautiful 30 year old niece, who is just beginning her own designer adventures. So this may be less a tale of CCP than just the evolution of my love for a wonderful design... (and twins with @Nomad and @Awillow and @bunnycat, I believe!)

Thank you LKB! And wow- thank y'all for the comparison of Chat Carre' and Feux de Ciel! I had never made a connection to the styling but can see there are some similarities, but the Chat Carre' you have is totally different vibe. Tied it almost reminds me of a mix of Sefdin, with some elements in layout of the Eskimo scarf from a couple of years ago, that I can't recall the name now.....
