That teal and fuchsia combination is lovely on you! (And I wish my skin was as wonderfully satin smooth as yours is!)

So cute with the glasses! Did you get a haircut?
Yes, I love the way the teal on the glasses matches the scarf! And well-spotted - my last haircut with the hairdresser I've had for decades - she is retiring. Much sadness! So cute with the glasses! Did you get a haircut?
This got missed in my multi-quote for some reason… thank you @LKBNOLA, that’s very kind! The jacket is a leather Barbour I’ve had for years, and it’s the softest leather I’ve ever found! Jackets are exempt from the ‘wear less black‘ resolution, right??You look beauiful in your Robe Legere with your tres chic jacket and lovely hair @Lellabelle. I think you are doing a fine job of enjoying your scarves. It took the Pandemic, ironically enough, for me to de-fetishize the scarves I had at the time. I thought I might never wear them again in company so I began wearing one every day and that habit is now a daily practice, like Wordle and my morning readings and walking the dogs!
What a beauty your Badines Marble is, dear @lanit! This one scarf can substitute for a dozen with its versatility!Happy New Year Scarfies! Thank you for the articulate posts of resolutions and lessons learned on our little thread and saluting all our current and past scarves mistresses for keeping our thread lively and interesting!
As my silk collection has reached a point of no more space in the tansu, I am definitely in that period of life of editing to as few scarves and shawls as possible. Last season I received only one very special silk and it was more expensive being a marble silk. I truly thought I could stay on my 90 ban forever but broke that resolution since the process of the marble silk and its design captured my heart.
So, to aid in this process, I go through my edits with the hope that rehoming them so that these beautiful scarves can be worn and appreciated by others as well as my letting go of things that I just can’t seem to wear due to current lifestyle changes. There are a number of designs that still take my breath away just looking at them, but the majority seem to be languishing in their boxes or shelves. that is the bigger battle for my heart.
Wearing what I have is my simple resolution as well as letting go. The new year is a time to refresh, renew and to pare down my life in general! I’m excited to leap into these goals immediately! Wishing you all great success, good health and scarf happiness for 2023!

You are a beautiful woman, @millivanilli! No extra pounds will change it ever. Your scarves and your doggie are beautiful too! Personally, I love all your scarves’ cws on you!Hello my dear scarf friends! I am thrilled by the great photos and information and enjoy the thread now already to the fullest.
Unfortunately, I was sick the last few days and have already missed the connection a little, but could start today with my color scheme problem scarves.
I don't have that many grand scarves (I'm terribly embarrassed, but for the life of me I can't remember it CGSM GSCM GSCM....) - And compared to you, of course, ridiculously few 90 cm scarves. I think the silk scarves suit me better because they have a bit of a sheen to them, the muted one of the CSGM GSCM - you know what I mean - doesn't suit me as well in my opinion.
So for now. let's have a look at the grand carres I own and the problems I have with some of them.
Apologies for the pictures, I'm not feeling particularly well yet, and I'm pretty unphotogenic unfortunately. AND I gained a lot of weight. I personally think, that I need a slimmer face to make the scarves look good, so some pictures are from those glory times when I ate properly and went to the gym on a regular basis......

Let's start with the scarf I've been dying to get: Large Triangle Sweet dreams in shades of green. I find it a little bit "dull" on me, althoug I really LOVE the desing and am a true Baijtlik- fan:

Let's move on to my problem scarf: Mytiques Phoenix in orange / blue.
The scarf has sentimental value for me. I bought it when I realized that I need to get away from certain people to be happy. So the scarf was an anticipated symbol of success, so to speak - and I wear it with pride today. The Birkin, which I requested at the same time, I still do not have, however.
That the colors do not look good on me I was aware at the time, but unfortunately not how bad they look..... I combine the scarf with earrings that were dirt cheap (8 euros?), but match the design perfectly - hopefully they never break

let's move on to Sweat Dream men's scarf- I wear it really seldom although I fought for it SO hard at the boutique. Perhaps that memory is attached to the scarf.. Sadly because I utterly love the design. And the typo "sweat dreams" Lord, I had to sweat for it... I took the foto today, you can clearly see that I am still sick and gained a ton! I am sorry for the ugly pic

Now let's have a look at my two most loved carres in big sizes:
Firstly: Fantasie indiennes. Initially bough to hang it on the wall but I loved it so much, that I decided to wear it. It came to me to Stockholm, to Rome, to Nizza, to Paris, to Vienna, to Triest and literally everywhere. That said I am still fighting with the yellow parts in it.
View attachment 5682532
and the last one in my small collection of bigger formats: la danse des Amazones. I figured out that the orange blue colorscheme of my Phoenix doesn't work so good for me, so I searched for a design I liked in red- tones. Initially I wanted to purchase Bingata, but didn't like it on me and fell in love with the little wise owl on it. Sadly I pulled a string at exactly that element of the carre with my morganite ring I purchased to wear it together with the scarf.

It looks great on you, @laurenad! Did you rehome your SE?Loving this week! My favorite design - cosmographia Universalis - was in hardcore ccp this year! I had three 90 silks and was very unhappy with two of them. Over the course of the year I admitted to myself that I purchased the white/pink/green colorway because it was available online and because my best friend said she thought it was pretty. I purchased the popular lilac, blue and pink colorway because of just that - popularity! I remembered how at the time, I saw the warm coral colorway and a little voice whispered - this would look best on you. But I ignored it in favor of going along with the masses and ease of purchase! I am proud of correcting that this year, offloading the two silks that weren’t working, and treated myself to this little beauty. Finally, the cosmographia that fits best with me!

Thank you, dear @Cookiefiend!I love reading your thoughtful posts!
You are knot a lazy knotter! AND - a 90 can be draped over your shoulders too! Just tie a knot in the end and call it a day! (as a bonus - you can sling it around to your back and knot worry about getting lunch on it!)
And - I'm taking you to task here- never feel guilty about something you love. I don't look at the cost, I never say 'OHMYGOSH I just paid so much for this piece of silk!', because it's not 'just a piece of silk'* - it is Art, it is Beauty, it is a silken barrier between you and our sometimes unfriendly world, a beautiful touchstone. I rarely wear necklaces because I wear a scarf - it *is* my jewelry (and frankly one heck of a lot less than jewelry) and I never feel guilty about them.
If someone is foolish enough to ask how many I have, I just look at them and say "A lot." In a tone that implies "none of your business" and they don't ask again.
*on the other hand - it is just a piece of silk - so wear them with love!
Oof - I hope your 2023 is absolutely fantastic - you deserve it, and I love your Objectives!
and - uhh - I LOL-ed at your Robe Legere addiction!
Oh my gosh - these are stunning together!
Honey - you're beautiful!! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
You're glowing in your Amazones - what a great cw! I agree that the orange MP (stunning design) needs a different color top - already mentioned is Turquoise (fabulous idea!) and Pink (I love pink and orange, well pink especially), but also gray. I find that I wear my orange scarves often with a gray sweater. I've also worn orange with orange (recently wore Sous Le Charme d'Orphee on the orange side with a darker orange sweater), oooh and with a warm tan color top!
But I'm serious when I say that you look lovely. Keep sharing your photos with us!
Cutie patootie!
These are both gorgeous - but yowza - that dark red with the dark gray is a fantastic look!
Another fabulous thoughtful post - thank you!
And - yay - I'm glad your brown JdH is staying! That orange hem is so marvelous!
(mine is staying too.... even though I didn't wear it once last year!!)
Very nice! I think this is the colorway I picked up at the Dubai airport boutique when I was there in November. It's the one with the sun in dark coral, yes? If so, twins! I haven't worn mine yet but looking forward to an occasion.Loving this week! My favorite design - cosmographia Universalis - was in hardcore ccp this year! I don't want to undermine your New Year's resolution, but you look great in really so many colors.
Even if I understand that you want to rehome some multiples or cut down on certain colors, I have to say you look so gorgeous in each and every one of your photos! And you inspire (enable) me to add more of those stronger colors to my collection. My plan is to add more red!

Thank you, all, so much!Happy 2023, dear scarfies! Looking forward to another year of wonderful themes and interesting conversation and friendship with you all!
Bunny, Happy New Year to you and sweet Snickers! Thanks for a wonderful intro. I love your Peinture, and, whoa, that special hem!
I do have some resolutions and will post them with my scarf today below.
Snausages, I need to learn this new skill you call rehoming. I would love to follow you in kondoing my collection and rehoming all those I don't adore, but I would settle for getting 3 out the door. Deep breath. Baby steps.
Cookie, I will hold your sales goggles if you will hold mine! (All bets are off when a moussie is in sight!)
Lkb - ah, the ccp... I have one coming that is part of my ccp, but will I part with its lesser sister?! Again, learn about this thing you all call rehoming.
Easier resolution, add three new knots to repertoire, beginning with this one with my very own ClF. Stunning!!
Fifi, I will join you in your scarf a day challenge. And like you, I have fallen down the blue and gold rabbit hole.
Here is my scarf today - one of my very favorites, Tropiques Poinconne

In general, I am going to try to be more mindful this year. Hopefully that will lead to greater appreciation of what I have and refine what I choose to acquire/consume.
I would love to begin actively curating my collection.
I expect to limit my new scarves to 6. (Room for my 3 grails, an as-yet unidentified 140 silk with blue as the main color, and two new or must-haves based on this thread!)
Yes that is it! Mine came out for the first time today - loved it!Very nice! I think this is the colorway I picked up at the Dubai airport boutique when I was there in November. It's the one with the sun in dark coral, yes? If so, twins! I haven't worn mine yet but looking forward to an occasion.
Very clever and inspiring.Resolution number 3: shop in my collection.
Scarves always have a special reason to appeal to me. I may have a list of criteria, but there are still many temptations... For example, this year I'm going for Costume de fête and the little beads on the edge... My "Arbre du vent" will help me wait or resist!
Another delight is Le jardin des peintres. I like several colours but I'll have to try them. For the blue and pink, "Plumes en fête" and "Index palmarum" will do for today

Great post! And, it is very evident that you know exactly what looks best on you and what you like… great choices and decisions!@Living.la.vida.fifi I can so relate to much of what you said above. I have always tried to keep track of colors in my collection and not adding similar colors. But you know how it is..designs can be “different enough” to warrant still getting a “similar” color scheme scarf.
You mentioned reds and blues. These are my red and blue scarves. what I have kept, what I re-homed last year, what is on the re-home pile, what I am doing ccp with. Top row I have kept- Atlantide ( one of my fav scarves), tresors d’artiste ( I could ccp but I just love the sunflower in yellow), and that Canadian on the right sometimes makes it into the re-home pile because I Have three other cw’s and it’s similar to tresors. But I just love the design SO much it comes back into collection. 2nd row-The giverny stays because it’s not big swaths of red and blue. the artisans is actually on the rehome pile because I have 2 other cw’s I like better. But of course I see this pic and say…oh..wait…I just love those scenes on that and that red hem. 3rd row is what left my collection last year. Carnaval de venise, and art du sarasa. Sarasa is going to be a ccp to another cw. I am thinking of @Teaforparrots colorway
. And carnaval is also on a ccp to find another cw bc I Love the design. Something light colored because I have a dark of it.

Sorry my posts have been so long lately. These end of year and beginning of year ones get ya thinking haha.
Love this design and am so happy to be your twinResolution 1 : 6 new scarves max (I saw the new prices last night and this will certainly help)
Resolution 2 : to apply myself a bit more to tie my scarves and fully pay tribute to this "art to wear".
Today, I'm going to take Mr. Cat for his vaccination at the vet. I haven't told him yet that I'm making him a sal... So "Pelage et camouflages" seems very appropriate.

I love this CW… So flattering and wearable… Looks wonderful on you!I am already losing track, but I just want to thank those of you who have been so complimentary about my blog. The Scarf of the Moment posts take quite some time to compile and I really enjoy writing them. Please let me know if you ever find errors or any additions I could use. I will never use my blog for financial gain as it helps me to feel useful despite my health issues. I also point visitors back here to tPF quite often!
The price increase here in the UK has really shocked me, so I think I will be “shopping my collection” this year!
Finally, I don’t think that I have posted this photo with Plumes en Fête CSGM before. Apologies if I have…

Such a clever knot! I must remember it when I wish to hide borders. I got an Eileen Fisher sweater exactly this color the other day and can’t wait to wear itThank you to everyone for your nice reactions to my resolution post! I can see that "rehoming" is a common theme as we start the New Year-- a natural impulse to shed a bit of baggage and start off with a clean slate. But I am only adding more!!! I completed 90% of my Spring Season shopping (so happy to have done it in the boutique and online early this year before we return to NOLA) and I am expecting the very last CCP to arrive tomorrow as well as two others, but they are on the list
so I do not need to carry any guilt about them. Although all were purchased in 2022, I am counting them as 2023 for their date of arrival. In the meantime, I am challenging myself like @EtsyBoss, to rethink my top-scarf combinations. I tend to get into a rut but yesterday I paired a dark and slightly menswear cw of C'est la Fete with an ardoise blue sweater and I liked the freshness of the look. Today I am wearing my beloved Lanternes in the pink nacre cw on a darker top. I normally wear this with brighter raspberry pink, camel, white and black. Also trying a variation on the necklace tie and a "hide the border strategy, too!

Oh, so glad you finally found this beauty! Truly my fav CW of the design and looks amazing on you… I also love to wear it with cobalt blue and feel it looks fantastic with red as wellIt was June of 2020 and I had just begun collecting Hermes scarves when @Living.la.vida.fifi modelled her Les Tresors d'un Artiste in the amazing beige, red, blue and green colorway and I fell in love with both the design and the colorway. A month later I found the design brand new at a great price in an acceptable colorway (meaning, not orange) and purchased it. A placeholder scarf, for sure.
View attachment 5681984
It has taken 2 1/2 years of searching, but I finally found the original colorway that I fell in love with.
View attachment 5681986
My original intention was to put the blue colorway into the CCP program, but maybe not. That's okay.
View attachment 5681985
In any case, a related resolution this year is to limit the number of light blue scarves that I purchase. While I like light blue tops just fine, I don't seem to like that color in scarves nearly as much. I've mentioned this before, as it is something that has really surprised me.
Introducing my new-to-me Les Tresors d'un Artiste as my SOTD.

It is sublime!Happy new year, scarfies! 2022 was a culling and slow down year for me. I think I added approximately ten scarves total, and experimented with the gavroche format. I also unloaded quite a few scarves that weren’t bringing me joy, and just shipped off the last of them on December 30th! I have now got my 90 collection to 24 scarves that I love, and I’m planning on being very selective with future additions (no impulse buys!).
As for the CCP, one combination that always entices me is pink and yellow, but unfortunately these seem to be the scarves that end up the most on my chopping block. I have decided that one cause of this is the white that is often prevalent in pink and yellow scarves. White seems to be my scarf downfall. My last scarf of 2022 attempts to correct this, adding pink in a bit of a warmer tone, and pale yellow, but with no white (with the exception of one white moon). Still mulling, but so far this works better for me!

Such a fascinating CW! I feel the design shines in this CWThis morning I was in the mood for an alternative to the Colliers et Chiens I usually wear around the house to brighten up this gray shirt. I settled on my other wash scarf, tied to keep it out of the way of plant repotting and other tasks. I took some photos, which reacquainted me with the fun details of this Laboratoire.

Fabulous look!Well, my resolution this year definitely must be to slow down my purchases. Based on arrival date, quite a few 2021 purchases made it into my 2022 total, which I am not quite ready to acknowledge here. Suffice to say it wasn’t quite as many as dear @Nomad (whose finds were were superb, including some grails!), however I let go of zero so I need to book myself some time on the island! Christmas didn’t help, as I basically nominated all my acquisitions from the last three months to ‘Christmas treats’. As a positive, I will have a few to share over the coming months of self-enforced austerity!
I love some of the thoughtful resolutions here, all of which improve the individual’s collection, or use, in some meaningful way. I will also endeavour to wear less black (which may be as futile a goal as resisting the new season loveliness!). I am not ready to release any yet, so will not even attempt to make a resolution in that area. While I probably could cut my collection in half and still have a strong capsule wardrobe, they all get some neck time and I enjoy having the choice to be able to mix and match my mood and outfit choices.
My final, and most meaningful resolution is to stop being so precious about my most treasured silks and actually enjoy them rather than saving them. I’m sure this resonates with a few of us here!
Recently acquired robe elegant (legere) below. Happy 2023 everyone!

Wonderful reflections, dear L! This marble silk was made for you and it us such an extraordinary piece!Happy New Year Scarfies!
Wonderful post that explains so much of the process… you decided wellThank you, Snausages. Your comment got me to thinking, and please allow me to expand on it. You are referring to the new Le Carnaval des Animaux, CW09, which I think of as primarily a medium to dark blue and green scarf which does work well with my brown and taupe tops.
This past year I rehomed several brown and taupe scarves, because wearing them was more ‘I should’ than ‘I feel good’. Those that went included a brown Trophees de Venise, a brown Casse Noisette and a taupe L'Instruction du Roy. I like wearing brown tops, but apparently that doesn't necessarily extend to my scarves. However, never say never, as I absolutely adore my brown Jardins d'Hiver. That scarf is staying.

I've already replaced the Trophees de Venise with a green colorway, and while the Casse Noisette has not been replaced, I do like the design and will wait for a better colorway.
My SOTD is my replacement Trophees de Venise, after the brown scarf left through the CCP. I'm wearing my medium brown sweater today. I like this pretty scarf.

My fav CW of this marvelous design… perfection for the kitty MomsI would say "stay strong" but I'd be lying as I would not be able to contain myself and go in for a "look see"...
A minor resolution in the last year or so was that I "had enough" cat themed scarves so I tried and tried to give Lazy Leopardesses a miss since I have several (3) Jaguar Quetzal scarves, as well as Ardmore Artists, Tigre Royal and several Dallet. Surely that was enough???
I am glad to have finally given in to this scarf because it is indeed very easy to wear, and I don't think it interferes with my others. But I really am fairly complete in the cat scarf department now. I did successfully avoid the Chat Carre' as every one I tried on was too pastel, and it was very prominent on the borders and so a no go for me. I am going to look at the new JL stamped b/c...Jungle Love....and I think it will be a very unique take on the JL design if the colors suit me. (Thanks a lot @LKBNOLA for the mod shot of your CW, and @Snausages for the boutique pics that sealed the deal on the red and bronze CW being a possibility for me.
) After this, if I start down the Cat Print Path again (officially CPP now, not to be confused with CCP) you can all collectively
me.
My lovely Lazy Leopardesses from yesterday.

Oh yes… my fav CW! This simple knot works so well to show its beautyThank you @bunnycat!
Occupational hazard for a Scarf Mistress @xincinsin -- happy reconnoitering!
Me too, @leechiyong and I live by the Bayou so....
It is gorgeous on you @bunnycat and I am happy to be your twin and sister and even though I have dogs and not cats, I have more cat scarves because they are so beautiful, including Le Chat Carre [gulp]...
It would be an interesting theme to consider other elements of scarf design besides color @Lellabelle-- scale, contrast, balance etc. I know I have learned a lot from my mistakes-- not every blue scarf is a winner and sometimes the most "left field" designs work like a charm. Sometimes it is magic and defies analysis and sometimes we can figure it out and work with it!
Solidarity post here (with over the top earrings and a sassy cat tongue front and center!)

This is such a lovely, wise and generous post @Cookiefiend. Thank you for your thoughts and encouragement to us all
Hahaha. Jinx. I owe you a coke @Redbirdhermes...
Such great colors
It truly is an extraordinary design… This is a fabulous CWLoving this week!
