Alas I am fghting with the yellow parts on e the pink one and wear it rarely:sad:
Sounds like a great candidate for this week’s theme! Hopefully some helpful suggestions from our fellow scarfies, or a possible CCP candidate if you love the design but there’s a more ‘you’ version out there waiting for you ;)

I favor blue tops too and at first I gravitated to blue scarves (and neutrals) but I am happily branching out...
This is an interesting thought, @LKBNOLA. I favour blue scarves too - it’s a colour that suits my colouring well, but I have surprisingly little blue in my wardrobe, considering. Most of my wardrobe leans black, neutral, or the occasional rich jewel tones. Perhaps that’s why I’m having success with blue scarves? A colour that works for me, but that also provides a contrast with the outfit? I think that contrast is an essential part of what makes a scarf work; either in the design itself, or against clothing.

You are beautiful! Taking care of oneself is truly a worthy goal, and another on my list this year. You really shine in the purple/pink/red colors and it shows in your mod shots. with Sweet Dreams, the triangle, I would pair it with a shirt in the deep green to bring that cool ton out. I (finally) have the Sweet Dreams 100 in that CW (so we are twins) and I adore it. I like it so far on greens and black best with a strong red lip. The MP. I feel you on orange. I can do it as an accent color, but it can't be the main theme. Strangely, when I have a scarf with lots of orange, I tend to like it with pink. So maybe also try a pink sweater with it? Definitely try a light blue/turquoise and fold to highlight the turquoise in the scarf. Maybe you'll find that is what you were missing with it! And keep taking your mod shots and don't be afraid to share here. You are a shining beauty!
I was just about to respond with these exact suggestions! In the spirit of the theme, I’ll share some suggestions too; as always, just my thoughts so please feel free to take or leave as makes sense for you!

Firstly, @millivanilli, you are beautiful! With your beautiful eyes and hair, and fabulous cheekbones you have absolutely no need to be nervous of wearing scarves - they look great on you! Self-care is always a good idea, and you have no reason to feel self-conscious.

I love your sweet (sweat) dreams! I actually think BOTH of these are super on you. They just need a stronger coloured base to really shine. For the picture with the green one, I think there may be too much white with the the pale elements in the scarf and the white top. White can be tricky; when it works, it can be fresh and pretty, but other times it can lend a dull tone to the complexion that can be challenging. A deep emerald green top would set the green one off perfectly and work with your colouring. Ruby red, plum or blackberry (red or blue-toned purples) would work too.
For the brighter one, just lean a little more into the mid-bright tones, rather than the deep jewel-tones, and that should work. Again, reds and greens (in slightly brighter tones) would be great, but you really could pair this with lots of strong colours and make it work. An obvious choice, perhaps, but this bright CW would be stunning on a simple black top, too. Something fairly sleek, without too much bulk, ideally, would be show-stopping.

For Fantasies Indiennes, I love this on you and my only encouragement is to wear it more! The rich purple is superb on you. If the ends bother you, there are lots of ways to tie this to minimize, or hide, the ends. Or wear it long (as in your second pic) so they’re away from your face.

For the Amazones, I can see why this would be more challenging. I’ll say that I believe almost any scarf can be made to work with some thought and a little effort, but it’s also true that some designs, scales, formats or colourways will be more challenging than others. There’s a lot of white along with the red, which needs to be balanced. While the scarf and the pink top are excellent together, I think it would flatter you more with a stronger coloured base to minimize the white. I would suggest trying this with a burgundy, plum or similar rich red-toned base and see if you like the difference.

A final thought, to add that white is an excellent pairing with the orange for Mythiques Phoenix. The vibrancy of the orange is great with your colouring and really pops against the freshness of the white. The light parts of the scarf itself are more cream, which is softer against the face. As Bunny already mentioned, it would be super with a bright pink, or fuschia, too.

All your choices are great, and you have an excellent capsule wardrobe. Please don’t be shy to enjoy and share them here!

I would say "stay strong" but I'd be lying as I would not be able to contain myself and go in for a "look see"...

A minor resolution in the last year or so was that I "had enough" cat themed scarves so I tried and tried to give Lazy Leopardesses a miss since I have several (3) Jaguar Quetzal scarves, as well as Ardmore Artists, Tigre Royal and several Dallet. Surely that was enough???

I am glad to have finally given in to this scarf because it is indeed very easy to wear, and I don't think it interferes with my others. But I really am fairly complete in the cat scarf department now. I did successfully avoid the Chat Carre' as every one I tried on was too pastel, and it was very prominent on the borders and so a no go for me. I am going to look at the new JL stamped b/c...Jungle Love.... and I think it will be a very unique take on the JL design if the colors suit me. (Thanks a lot @LKBNOLA for the mod shot of your CW, and @Snausages for the boutique pics that sealed the deal on the red and bronze CW being a possibility for me. ) After this, if I start down the Cat Print Path again (officially CPP now, not to be confused with CCP) you can all collectively :bagslap: me.

My lovely Lazy Leopardesses from yesterday.

I love this on you, twin. No :bagslap: from me!

I love this on you, twin. No :bagslap: from me!
Thank you twin! I have no regrets on this one now at all. So glad it ended up in the SGV (Scarf Gift Vault) But adding lots of other cat prints scarves on....I think I am very close to MCS (Max Cat Scarf) capacity. Too many more may create a Critical Cat Mass and lead to a Cat Gravitational Worm Hole....

I want to thank everybody who planned the clever themes for every week of the new year and I‘m really looking forward to the lovely posts they will inspire! This is such a lovely community and being here - even though I quite often just follow as a silent reader - is always equally diverting and educating.

There are a great many good and sensible resolutions; it‘s very interesting to read how we mostly share the same sentiments towards the collecting and wearing of our scarfs!

My resolution is to be less lazy with scarf knotting because it makes me wear my 90 silks too little. It‘s easier to just drape a CSGM around me and call it a day than to find a good way to wear a 90 silk. Maybe I should buy some more scarf rings?

I have not yet found a way not to feel guilty about every new scarf I buy because I think I have too many already. (Not just Hermès but other brands and styles too; there is virtually no limit to finding new things I like and want to wear.) Sometimes I wonder if I should just stop looking for scarfs online once and for all - and yet I love discovering new designs and vintage treasures. I’ve already started to wear two scarfs at once when it was particularly cold outside, one as a wrap and another one as a head scarf. But when even random colleagues ask you just how many scarfs you actually own, it’s probably time to slow down a bit…
I love reading your thoughtful posts!
You are knot a lazy knotter! AND - a 90 can be draped over your shoulders too! Just tie a knot in the end and call it a day! (as a bonus - you can sling it around to your back and knot worry about getting lunch on it!)

And - I'm taking you to task here :hugs: - never feel guilty about something you love. I don't look at the cost, I never say 'OHMYGOSH I just paid so much for this piece of silk!', because it's not 'just a piece of silk'* - it is Art, it is Beauty, it is a silken barrier between you and our sometimes unfriendly world, a beautiful touchstone. I rarely wear necklaces because I wear a scarf - it *is* my jewelry (and frankly one heck of a lot less than jewelry) and I never feel guilty about them.
If someone is foolish enough to ask how many I have, I just look at them and say "A lot." In a tone that implies "none of your business" and they don't ask again.

*on the other hand - it is just a piece of silk - so wear them with love!
Happy New 2023 dear Scarfies!

Let the difficult (really horrible for me) 2022 be gone. I feel that with everything that was thrown on the world (and on me personally) this past year has caused me a free fall in so many ways at the same time, that joining this thread for spirit-catapulting or parachuting actually provided some up-lifting. It also resulted in yet another free fall down the rabbit H hole, but at least this one I’ve caused myself! It is in great company and with much good humour!

Exciting agenda for the new 2023! It seems like serendipity that an inspiring welcome to the new Scarf of the Day 2023 page comes from the savvy hostess by the gentle name @bunny and her adorable black kitty – the guides to the next in line celebration, the beginning of the Chinese year of black bunny / cat.

Everyone’s 2023 “scarfing” objectives are very sound and resonate with me. Mine are as follows:

  • Carrying on  happily if possible
  • Practicing painless purchasing (PPP) ;)
  • Diversifying
  • Attempting knot tying
  • Not exceeding my preferable number 8 per year (Reasonable justifications: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, Easter, my Birthday, DS’s (=dear son) birthday, DD’s (=dear dog) B’day, H’s (= Hermes) B’day) Taking into consideration the alleged price increase, this number should be easily changed to 4 – Reasonable justification:“The sacred number of Hermes was four, and the fourth day of the month was his birthday” (Britannica). The question is: 4 scarves annually or one scarf on the 4-th day of each month, though? The answer - flexible approach: could be easily adjusted to specific circumstances! I can commit to 4 annual purchases. But monthly acquisitions, if they were affordable, could have been such a perfect demonstration of pluricultural perspective – tribute to Orthodox Christmas, Chinese New Year, Ramadan, Canada Day, Independence Day (US), Fete Nationale (Bastille Day), and etc.!
  • Exercising casual ware
  • Fighting Robe Legere addiction
  • Overcoming Robe Legere addiction
Vivat 2023! Happy scarfing fulfillment to all!
Oof - I hope your 2023 is absolutely fantastic - you deserve it, and I love your Objectives!
and - uhh - I LOL-ed at your Robe Legere addiction! :roflmfao:
Resolution number 3: shop in my collection.
Scarves always have a special reason to appeal to me. I may have a list of criteria, but there are still many temptations... For example, this year I'm going for Costume de fête and the little beads on the edge... My "Arbre du vent" will help me wait or resist!

Another delight is Le jardin des peintres. I like several colours but I'll have to try them. For the blue and pink, "Plumes en fête" and "Index palmarum" will do for today

Oh my gosh - these are stunning together!
Hello my dear scarf friends! I am thrilled by the great photos and information and enjoy the thread now already to the fullest.
Unfortunately, I was sick the last few days and have already missed the connection a little, but could start today with my color scheme problem scarves.

I don't have that many grand scarves (I'm terribly embarrassed, but for the life of me I can't remember it CGSM GSCM GSCM....) - And compared to you, of course, ridiculously few 90 cm scarves. I think the silk scarves suit me better because they have a bit of a sheen to them, the muted one of the CSGM GSCM - you know what I mean - doesn't suit me as well in my opinion.

So for now. let's have a look at the grand carres I own and the problems I have with some of them.

Apologies for the pictures, I'm not feeling particularly well yet, and I'm pretty unphotogenic unfortunately. AND I gained a lot of weight. I personally think, that I need a slimmer face to make the scarves look good, so some pictures are from those glory times when I ate properly and went to the gym on a regular basis......

View attachment 5682512

Let's start with the scarf I've been dying to get: Large Triangle Sweet dreams in shades of green. I find it a little bit "dull" on me, althoug I really LOVE the desing and am a true Baijtlik- fan:

View attachment 5682513

Let's move on to my problem scarf: Mytiques Phoenix in orange / blue.
The scarf has sentimental value for me. I bought it when I realized that I need to get away from certain people to be happy. So the scarf was an anticipated symbol of success, so to speak - and I wear it with pride today. The Birkin, which I requested at the same time, I still do not have, however.

That the colors do not look good on me I was aware at the time, but unfortunately not how bad they look..... I combine the scarf with earrings that were dirt cheap (8 euros?), but match the design perfectly - hopefully they never break

View attachment 5682516

let's move on to Sweat Dream men's scarf- I wear it really seldom although I fought for it SO hard at the boutique. Perhaps that memory is attached to the scarf.. Sadly because I utterly love the design. And the typo "sweat dreams" Lord, I had to sweat for it... I took the foto today, you can clearly see that I am still sick and gained a ton! I am sorry for the ugly pic:sad:

View attachment 5682530

Now let's have a look at my two most loved carres in big sizes:

Firstly: Fantasie indiennes. Initially bough to hang it on the wall but I loved it so much, that I decided to wear it. It came to me to Stockholm, to Rome, to Nizza, to Paris, to Vienna, to Triest and literally everywhere. That said I am still fighting with the yellow parts in it.

View attachment 5682532

and the last one in my small collection of bigger formats: la danse des Amazones. I figured out that the orange blue colorscheme of my Phoenix doesn't work so good for me, so I searched for a design I liked in red- tones. Initially I wanted to purchase Bingata, but didn't like it on me and fell in love with the little wise owl on it. Sadly I pulled a string at exactly that element of the carre with my morganite ring I purchased to wear it together with the scarf.

Honey - you're beautiful!! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
You're glowing in your Amazones - what a great cw! I agree that the orange MP (stunning design) needs a different color top - already mentioned is Turquoise (fabulous idea!) and Pink (I love pink and orange, well pink especially), but also gray. I find that I wear my orange scarves often with a gray sweater. I've also worn orange with orange (recently wore Sous Le Charme d'Orphee on the orange side with a darker orange sweater), oooh and with a warm tan color top!

But I'm serious when I say that you look lovely. Keep sharing your photos with us! :hugs:
Today I tried to live up to my resolution to wear my silk carrés more often and went for my most difficult one: Tapis Persans 140 silk with lots of slippery fabric. The knot is not terribly exciting but at least I managed to wrangle it in place and make it stay there.

Cutie patootie!
Wow so many beautiful posts since late last night! I am heading out to do errands in my personal favorite Tresors d'un Artiste. I have collected two of this design (second one below mod shot) and thought of culling to one but as was pointed out with @Redbirdhermes' two very different cws, each has its place in my "Scarfdrobe"-- a wonderful new portmanteau word coined by a darling scarfie friend!

These are both gorgeous - but yowza - that dark red with the dark gray is a fantastic look!
Thank you, Snausages. Your comment got me to thinking, and please allow me to expand on it. You are referring to the new Le Carnaval des Animaux, CW09, which I think of as primarily a medium to dark blue and green scarf which does work well with my brown and taupe tops.

This past year I rehomed several brown and taupe scarves, because wearing them was more ‘I should’ than ‘I feel good’. Those that went included a brown Trophees de Venise, a brown Casse Noisette and a taupe L'Instruction du Roy. I like wearing brown tops, but apparently that doesn't necessarily extend to my scarves. However, never say never, as I absolutely adore my brown Jardins d'Hiver. That scarf is staying.

View attachment 5682260View attachment 5682262View attachment 5682263

I've already replaced the Trophees de Venise with a green colorway, and while the Casse Noisette has not been replaced, I do like the design and will wait for a better colorway.

My SOTD is my replacement Trophees de Venise, after the brown scarf left through the CCP. I'm wearing my medium brown sweater today. I like this pretty scarf.

Dear scarfies, my resolve is being tested. Yours truly flew to Bangkok today. I brought only one scarf with me as this is not a scarf-friendly trip. I valiantly walked past the H at Changi Airport Terminal 2 and pretended that I didn't see it. Then I checked into my Bangkok hotel, looked out of my 17th Floor hotel room ... And I spy the H boutique across the road (face-palm).
Your vacation/trip has an H spell on it, Xincinsin.

These colors are trill stunning on you LKB!

The beaded one is gorgeous! I’ve been a fan of Bayou with Love since they announced their jewelry partnership with Dell.

I love how they work with smaller formats too. I wanted something that wouldn’t overpower them, while not overcrowding larger formats either.

Sometimes it is magic and defies analysis and sometimes we can figure it out and work with it!

I did try on Chat Carre' in 2 or 3 colorways, and I just couldn't get it to work on me no matter what I tried, and so there is proof positive that some cat scarves do exist that are not a "shoe in" for me.
