Scarf worn last Friday at my worksite office - Panthera Pardus by Robert Dallet. I find the detail in the fur amazing.:girlsigh: I also attached an old picture taken from my home office in 2021.

Your lil cherub has a beautiful complexion, Cookie! I think she looks like you, too.
Thank you dear Karenska!
I also love this comment about an iconic design and an iconic instrument. I have the gav which is one of two that my husband wears as a pocket silk. The other is Dies et Hores.

Thank you, Cookie!

Thank you Agrume ... nice poppy pic!
Beautiful in blue and green colours!
Thank you, Croisette!

Happy Monday everyone, and I wish a peaceful Memorial Day to those in the US.

We’re having family over for dinner and it’s warm outside - so a wee gav is called for!
La Musique des Spheres - the H story goes as follows:
“The music of the Spheres - Marrying music and mathematics, Stradivarius, the incomparable-maker from Cremona, turned to ancient Pythagoras and his theorem to prove to us that art is not just simple artifice but really science. His ‘Medici Viola’, freely reconstructed here from the one made in 1690, produces for our ears a diamond tone which really is ‘music of the spheres’, born of the perfection on the circle. What a vertiginous geometry!”

Many years ago our family had a blue pet parakeet.

So when I saw this colorway of Perruches by Xavier de Poret, it immediately went onto my wish list.

View attachment 5415142

I adore de Poret's lifelike animal drawings, and have collected a few of his designs.

D’aaawwwwww - so sweet! This is just the best cw for this design, and Poret’s works is fabulous!
Thank you, dear Cookie! :drinks:

breathtaking, Croisette! Not sure what my favourite is. Les flacons perhaps?

Thank you, LKBNOLA, for your words on this day. Symbol of remembrance in the UK is the poppy, I took a photograph this evening when cycling back from work.

So pretty, those blue birds. Congratulations for your find, RBH!
Thank you for you kind words and that bright poppy.
Today was an interesting day as I had to pack for a department move. Lots of dust and old papers. SOTD was another great Queen, Zenobia, with some very realistic jewellery.

I‘m in love with that Zenobia. Kudos to you that you are wearing a silk scarf even to a department move. I hope everything will go well!

Something went wrong. In response to @Agrume’s poppy, I posted this. I hope no one minds.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie,

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

Le Monde Est Vaste. The maps are beautiful.

Just lovely for a summer day!

SOTD was Dans un Jardin Anglais, to stay in the UK - Alice Shirley's designs are not super realistic, but she succeeds so well in evoking the atmosphere of an English garden.

So pretty with your blouse!

SOTD: La Charmante aux Animaux. Definitively off topic.

Love that purple!

The details of today’s scarf will lead you down a leafy overgrown path, to our favorite Mother Ship, the headquarters of our beloved Hermès… be careful where you trod, and watch the canopy for ‘things’…

Faubourg Tropical
“The first Hermes store opened at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honore in Paris in 1880, in a building of modest dimensions that also housed saddlery workshops and private apartments. The current neoclassical facade is the result of audacious building work carried out between 1924 and 1926, extending upwards to create additional floors and a surprising roof terrace. It is from this terrace that the exuberant tropical forest designed by the duo of Octave Marsal and Theo de Gueltzl appears to unfurl. Cheetahs, monkeys, and cockatoos blend into this botanical canopy, which also conceals the unexpected figure of the mounted cavalry man from the top of Faubourg Saint-Honore, who has escaped to the jungle.”

Hrmmmmm
Absolutely on topic! A scarf based on the One Thousand and One Nights story teller Scheherazade must have at least 1001 details, yes?
Yes!! :giggle:
oooo - how pretty and check out those ropes and knots!
(I know knot how H does that!)
