Thank you @Karenska and @Cookiefiend for hosting last week and this.

Hermes artist Robert Dallet considered himself to be more scientist than artist. He would engage in scientific study such as attending autopsies in order to better understand bone structure and musculature. His animal illustrations reflect his scientific precision.

I'm wearing Acinonyx Jubatus 140 wash scarf today. The pearl necklace was a bargain purchase from Kojima Pearl.

Thank you so much for hosting the fun Cheap and Chic-week, dear @Karenska! I thouroughly enjoyed it!
@Cookiefiend, I am looking forward to this week! I will only be able to post one or two times, since we‘re leaving for a big family event on Thursday, but I‘ll give my very best!

When I saw this week’s theme I immediately thought of Petite Main with so many realistic sewing accessories shown. I added a few of my own to show just how clever this design is. It is my SOTD.

:wtf::wtf::wtf:
incredible!
Wishing everyone a meaningful Memorial Day here as we honor our fallen. We are heartbroken after recent events to add names from Buffalo and the innocents and their teachers in Uvalde to that number. Difficult and somber days in our country. Showing the red white and blue with my Poste et Cavalerie gavroche which also is quite detailed with its tassels and fringe.

Here is a sign from a local shop window by the beloved New Orleans artist Simon that is a fitting visual for me today too as I prepare to leave:

oh… I love this. ❤️
(I’d love to have one too, but I am partial to my arms and legs :giggle:)
:hugs:

You look smashing, Cookie!

Wonderful colours! Love it!

Great intro, and lots of eye candy!

Two wonderful scarves, dear LKBNOLA, and that blue jacket…. :faint:

Those pearls and that scarf.

I love that gav, it gives off such summery vibes!!!

That vibrant blue is incredible, Snausages! And the no-dead-animals-concept is interesting. I must check if I have any dead animals on my scarves…

Faboulous as always, Croisette! Sister on Clés, Becanes and Flacons.
Thank you dear for both of your kind comments!
Many years ago our family had a blue pet parakeet.

So when I saw this colorway of Perruches by Xavier de Poret, it immediately went onto my wish list.

View attachment 5415142

I adore de Poret's lifelike animal drawings, and have collected a few of his designs.

D’aaawwwwww - so sweet! This is just the best cw for this design, and Poret’s works is fabulous!

Hopping in on pg 557…

this is a gorgeous mousseline! Wow.the detail on this soft format. I am not sure the colors would look good on me, but I love it in green nonetheless.

Love that Phoenix cw. Your pivoines is amazing inspiration for the rest of us with this cw. I struggle finding outfits for it. You pulled the stencil work right out of that corner flower.

Yes!! A wonderful charm design! Mad at myself for not pressing bug on one myself

Happy Belated! And wonderful tie for the muffler! Perfect. I have my eye on the black hem one, or your soft color one. Need mod shot of black hem.

my fav cw of this! Perfect in white

great outfit! Cool parade photo

perfect color top for this scarf!

wonderful examples. Can’t believe what a presence this little gav is. At least I think it’s a gav?

yes!! So crisp off the black!

I just LOVE this colorway! Love all the colors in it! I must resist, but I don’t own any KS. Must resist….aggghhh

awesome light and breezy color look. And the green nature behind you. Perfect

Awesome tied. And am jealous you can pull these colors off so boldly! H magic when tied
thank you, Nomad!

breathtaking, Croisette! Not sure what my favourite is. Les flacons perhaps?

Ooof-- just gorgeous. Can't believe I let this one slip by me-- but I was intimidated by the size at the time. Really wonderful on you @Redbirdhermes. Wish list scarf for me... My kids gave me his book-- fascinating process.

This is adorable-- I wish I could find one but it is so elusive and/or pricey. It is the perfect color for you @Nomad! And the scarf is like Oz going from monochrome to vibrant color. Wonderful. You have the best "finds"...

Thank you dear @Croisette7. It is fun to remember how to dress up a little... :winkiss:

I was surprised too @Agrume! And thank you for your always kind comments.

Yes, I hope so too but already the theme is surprising me with delight at the examples and creativity of our scarfies @Cookiefiend. (And thank you)

You are so very very nice! Thank you.

Of course you have this design! 22-- wow @Snausages what a big heart you have-- Fabulous on you.

Resistance is futile dear @Nomad :graucho:

These are all fabulously detailed and wonderfully tied and styled @Croisette7. Of course I am partial to your beautiful Ombrelles et Parapluies which was the scarf godmother to my own! I adore the corner vignettes and the center full of charming umbrellas and parasols...

I have this design entirely because of @Croisette7! :flowers: I admired it on her and she was kind enough to point me in the right direction. Perfect for New Orleans as we have a tradition of parades featuring umbrellas. Here's a photo headed to a JazzFest event this spring!

Thank you @Winter4-- I love Katie Scott and my cw of Index Palmarum is blue and white so I was very drawn to this colorful new Index. Very unusual blues in the background and border...

Thank you, LKBNOLA, for your words on this day. Symbol of remembrance in the UK is the poppy, I took a photograph this evening when cycling back from work.

Yesterday I flew to Melbourne for the day - it was FREEZING and so I was glad to wear my H scarf!!! Plus some light reading. A great fun book!

this is great, thank you for sharing.

I’ve owned and fostered 22 cocker spaniels since 2005 so of course I had to violate my rule of no-dead-animals for Chiens au Rapport by Carl de Parcevaux, with its lifelike retrieving dogs

Happy Monday everyone, and I wish a peaceful Memorial Day to those in the US.

We’re having family over for dinner and it’s warm outside - so a wee gav is called for!
La Musique des Spheres - the H story goes as follows:
“The music of the Spheres - Marrying music and mathematics, Stradivarius, the incomparable-maker from Cremona, turned to ancient Pythagoras and his theorem to prove to us that art is not just simple artifice but really science. His ‘Medici Viola’, freely reconstructed here from the one made in 1690, produces for our ears a diamond tone which really is ‘music of the spheres’, born of the perfection on the circle. What a vertiginous geometry!”

Something went wrong. In response to @Agrume’s poppy, I posted this. I hope no one minds.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie,

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

Le Monde Est Vaste. The maps are beautiful.
