I am following Sammy with my two moussies acquired this year. ?Rusty copper/burgundy? degrade changeant and aux portes des palais changeant. I rehomed 2 changeants this year as I had two with similar colors and had to pick a fav and portes won. And the other just wasn’t my color even tho gorgeous. Never in my life did I think I would rehome a changeant :girlshocked: .
View attachment 5678978
Both gorgeous, but that copper/dusky purple changeant is a knockout on you. Love the earrings with it!

Two very special scarves this year, are the LE Voitures Exquises (brought home for me by a friend who was in England at the time), and a very special scarf with the passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth shortly after.

The Marble Silk Brides de Gala was purchased in Paris - so is doubly special to me.

Today’s scarf is the last purchase this year - a wabi-sabi Fleurs Et Papillions de Tissus in the delightful fuchsia!

I could adopt them all ! Perfect match with the lipsticks

For me 2022 was also a year of exploring the larger formats. I fell hard for the CSGM and the CSGT in FW 2021, buying my first ones in the boutique and then acquiring my grail Parures at the end of last year. This year I decided that I wanted to anchor my small (but growing) CSGM collection with four older designs and I was lucky to find them for retail or under and in excellent condition. I wear these at night for the most part so I apologize for the lighting in my photos.

Every single one is breathtaking! And, so beautifully styled with perfect jewelry and outfits

Space Derby is such a fun design! And congratulations to finding your DuJA! Gorgeous!

All are absolutely beautiful dear Fifi! That double sided Clair de Lune wasn’t even on my radar! If I ever find one it has to move in with me! ;)

I really don’t know which of your acquisitions I admire most! So beautiful and you look gorgeous in all these different formats and colors
Thank you so very kindly!

The first one two show is a grail that I found surprisingly one morning surfing my usual sites. I really rushed to put it into the bin and push buy  La Vie du Grand Nord as a big moussie. I didn’t even know something like this existed. And two weeks later I found a matching Lift necklace. The Hapi I had in my collection before View attachment 5678841View attachment 5678842
It is stunning!

En liberté : On the Move! What a nice name for this scarf that has seduced many of you this year. After trying on several colours, this is the one that went with me. This happy band of doggies gives me a lot of energy
View attachment 5678846
The best design of FW22, IMO… Such a stunning CW and simply amazing worn with the black top and candy pink jacket!

And like LKBNOLA I began to collect CSGMs this year. So I went from owning one to owning four. Plus two big scarves in wool/silk mix. Plus a cashmere losange.
My CSGMs: Balade en Berline, Brins d‘Or and Sangles en Zigzag

Each one simply amazing, and all so versatile and wearable!

The hem on your new Space Derby is beyond, @Redbirdhermes and your stunning DuJa gives me hope that this one is still out there waiting for me! Congratulations on both. They are stunning.

 @Iflola--please don't even mention your eventual funeral even in jest or you will break my heart. Your periodic selfies and sacrves on site are occasions of joy to your friends here. Those ladies are in good company with you hanging around!

Beautiful @Living.la.vida.fifi! These are recent so I can be very happy that we are twins on Duo Cosmique and the lovely Equateur Maxi-Twilly cut. Sisters on Claire de Lune (which you have tied so beautifully) and I am pretty sure you were the inspo for my recent GT Kachinas purchase (as with many more!) And thank you for your nice comments on my De Passage "set"...

OMG-- what a find @Katharina Luise -- I did not know it came in mousseline but how perfect! And your Lift is giving me serious envy-- I would love to find a blue one like this. What a perfect match...

Thank you @Coco2606 -- I too started out with a neutral and then quickly realized that one would never be enough. I am happy that these are all so different as I like having the options to match up my evening wear and if not my clothes, my moods are enhanced by these beauties too! I know you have added some beauties since your Tyger Tyger...
Love to twin with you… Thank you so much!

Thank you, Fifi. Since my daily outfits are so much more dressed down now, the smaller formats, including the bandanas, are often my go-to silks for casual accessorizing.
The Santa pin is sterling and enamel and is by Nicole Barr. This piece is what I believe is hard-fired enamel. The other piece that I have by her studio is a “plique a jour” dragonfly pin. It’s like stained glass.

Here is additional information about Nicole Barr’s enameling techniques:

Oooh, gorgeous! Just love this scarf/pin pairing… And, thank you for the reference to Nicole Barr… beautiful work!

After a break of a few months where I didn’t think about scarves, didn’t check resale sites, and thought “heyyyy, I’m done. I’ve found my scarf happy place.” HA! As. If. This happened:

View attachment 5678869
I am sooo happy this design entered your collection! It is fabulous and meaningful and this CW was made for you… So festive here with the Christmas tree pin

And last but not least for 2022, my Christmas gift from the boys. I’ve worn it twice already!

View attachment 5678870
The new season is out and that’s very exciting, but it’s going to have to wait for the new year. I wasn’t nearly as “good” as I thought I’d been this year! Lol.
It is fantabulous!

My three CSGTs that I purchased this year - Encadre, Zebra Pegasus and Bouquets Selliers.

All are amazing and I already can tell that they will become frequent favorites

I think I had a very mild bout, but am taking no chances with the tiredness and coughing. So I am taking it slow.

Beautiful additions Karenska!

You Fbg Party looks fantastic on you!

Thank you kindly LKB!

Thank you fifi!

You made some really spectacular choices for 2022!

Yes- the deep downward plunge in to large formats.... :panic: But you came away with some real beauties!

Lovely colors in this!

Beautiful color combo here! It looks so happy!

Love your CSGM additions!

But what a way to fall back in to them! Beautiful colors.
Thank you so much!

Just love this last week of the year in this wonderful thread!! Thank you for all the lovely eye candy so far!! ❤️ - My first and my last shawl this year have been CSGMs: FT came as an unexpected love at first sight into my life and Cosmographia in a CW that I missed out at the time of release. One of my CSGM grails also joined lucky me recently: Imprimeur Fou Charabia! I am, unfortunately, working this week but I will try to post further treasures these next few days…

Gaaaaah! These are spectacular!

Here are two more favorites that entered my collection during 2022. The first is the Limited Edition of La Vie Sauvage du Texas named for Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Conservation. I was especially delighted with the birds and wildflowers bordering the central animal drawing. A Kermit Oliver is always a special add to the scarf collection.

View attachment 5678936View attachment 5678940

But the design that surprised me with how it captured my heart is Le Jeu des Petits Bonheurs. I have a soft spot for gaming scarves to begin with, but the little vignettes were a delight.

View attachment 5678937View attachment 5678938View attachment 5678941

This beauty has a permanent place in my rotation for Mother's Day. I tied it today showing the four-year-old blowing out the candles on her birthday cake.

View attachment 5678939
La Vie Sauvage is a dream! And, the Petits Bonheurs is, indeed, the perfect Mother’s Day scarf! I had not stopped to savor the details of the illustrations before your post… Truly delightful!

Hello fellow scarfies!

I started the new thread up for 2023 so everyone can preview it for the next few days. We have it temporarily locked so no body has to be confused over which thread is active right now for posting.

Thank you so very much! How exciting!

Okay, just quickly… :giggle: My two moussie grails this year: The very special Splendeurs des Maharajas and the heavely Nuees Imaginaires… Had been hunting for these two for many, many years:

Oh my! Breathtaking!

I always associate you with Scotland @Redbirdhermes

Space Derby twillies = irresistible! Love the red 90 too @paula24jen

It goes wonderfully with green @Iflola

TY @Living.la.vida.fifi and oh my word what delightful new ins! That Tea Time  And such a gorgeous Christmas setting! That level of hostessing is beyond my realm of capabilities; I am in awe

I think I’m on pace with you @Nomad and I hope we can count twillies and gavs as fractions  Love twinning on Lanternes!

Stunning @scarf1 - love how you’ve tied it too!

TY @Pirula and such different but equally lovely additions!

TY @CedarWaxWing it’s been a year for sure!

@AnnaE wowzers it’s beautiful! Perfect lippie too!

Mwah @LKBNOLA and wonderful passages! That bw Tokyo has me swooning!
Ha! Thank you, dear

All amazing on you, but wow I am smitten with your colorway of pawnee. Stunning

THIS is an amazing collection of csgms. Wow! I do have a favorite tho and that is your zenobie, it is stunning and looks absolutely beautiful on you!

perfection! And such a unique format in this design.

Wowza. This was made for you with that jacket color. What beautiful colors in this liberte.

All wonderful additions. Funny how those csgm’s just multiply haha

I forgot you had this cw of danse. And thx for the info on the artist.

Oooo love this cw. It is perfect with your lippie

Such a sweet gift from your boys. They did a great job.

I never would have given encadre a second thought were it not for you. I was very close to buying one but waiting too long and it got sold. I still think about it haha. And the pink pegasus is so pretty.

congratulations on your grail!! Such a great feeling. Love seeing your smile about it. These all are beautiful

Kermit is the best. Wish I had more. And great colorway of your game scarf! Love it with the light pink. It all reminds me of sweet sweet nursery kid time.

Going to follow suit with my moussies today. These both are special. Maharaja is a unique process of design. I remember reading about it. M

And @Snausages, Glad someone else is the same pace haha. It is scary writing down the number . And I only brought in one gav, And one doll twilly! I actually stayed on my ban pretty well on those haha. I did rehome about 12 of both of those though this year. I just wasn’t using them enough. I think I have a pile that is real love now. I am struggling though on my ban because I really love the faubourg tropical detail gav in purples and pinks.
Thank you so much!

I decided to do a collage. It was a year of manyyyy grails for me! It was also the year of purple. First row: tous les bateaux, potager extraordinaire, sieste au paradis ( has some moody purple-like in center)- all three grails long searched for close to retail. Second row: ailes de soie, astrologie nouvelle, Jaguar quetzal. Third row: Ballet aquatique ( purchased 4 cw’s before finding my fav), Appaloosa des steppes, on a summers day.

Today I share some favorite acquisitions from fairly recent collections…
The amazing double-sided Clair de Lune
View attachment 5678744

Though I had purchased the black CW of Duo Cosmique last year, I received the beautiful pink CW as a Mother’s Day gift this year
View attachment 5678745

And, two favorite Kermit Oliver designs entered my collection this year. The first was this Kachinas giant triangle. Though I already own two other CWs, I always regretted not getting this one and was thrilled that it finally came my way
View attachment 5678748

The second Kermit Oliver was this Pani la Shar Pawnee wash scarf
View attachment 5678746

And, finally, I added this beauty in a new-to-me format: Equateur maxi twilly cut

I love your Claire de Lune!
Fabulous intro @Living.la.vida.fifi!

‘Saving the best for last’…. Hrmmm…
This year was a doozy fer sure, and I am patting myself on the back for making it through - with the help of a lil Vitamin H!

My favorite purchases though… that’s a tough decision - because Hooooo Wheeee - I had a really good year - 2 grails , some beautiful moussies, a LE, and several lovely scarves both old and new.

Because I haven’t posted in a few days - I’ll show a few right away!

Coming soon is next year's thread so you can have a look at it a few days early. I will try to get to that here in a bit.

I wish I knew where were were, but I am so behind, I can't catch up and need to prepare myself for the next round of themes. So, while I am feeling better, and felt well enough today to put on some makeup. I still have a couple of pics from the last couple of days of no make up, and feeling it too...Sadly, I did have to go out yesterday for groceries (masked of course) but that wore me out entirely.

Today I am wearing the third and final of my Chorus Stellarum, which is indeed one of my favorite purchases of this year (all three that is.. )

Here is my newest one. Joining my twins out there with the orange bronze and pink colorway.

And so this very bold and bright one joins my other two in the black/nacre and the blue/pink colorways:

But I also wore some other favorites while I was sick and needed warm comfort....

This black and red Fleurs et Papillons de Tissues is from the original CSGM release, and I bought it preloved this past summer.

Cosmographia, anything Jan B is a warm and snuggly spirit lifter.

Wow, what amazing 2022 acquisitions so far.

SOTD faubourg party, when you live in DC Metro occasionally you get to do neat things like volunteer at the White House, just me hanging out with some First Ladies.
