Oh my Goodness, such beauty, enhanced by beautiful scarves. Travel safe. I'm heading to Bali for three weeks, so may only pop in for a look now and then. I have been holding off on the old trigger finger, until I return home. Cheers!!
Thank you and safe travels to you. I hope you are taking some of your lovely scarves with you for mod shots on site! Happy New Year...

Today I wore one of my Xmas presents from MrBcat- Lazy Leopardesses- to the boutqiue for a "look see" on new scarves. I can't believe I dilly dallied so long on adding this one on. It's perfect and I've already had it on several times since Sunday. It's so easy to wear in this bronze-y khaki shade with casual things.

View attachment 5679144

I did not com away empty handed at the boutique, either. I was not really intending to add this one on just yet. It was farther down my list than some of the others I am looking for, but could not turn away from it. (I did try at least once to leave it behind...) But, since I have not paid MrBcat back for this yet, I guess it really should go in my 2023 "file". This is the Cheval Vague cashmere triangle, by Gianpaolo Pagni.

View attachment 5679145View attachment 5679146
You lucky lady, this new triangle looks so perfect on you. Hope you are feeling a little better now.

This colorway of La Patisserie Francaise is my fourth attempt at getting it right. Appropriately enough, for a scarf showing candies and baked goods, the primary color is vanilla.

20221229_105336.jpg

I ended 2022 with four colorways of Chorus Stellarum. The pink arrived in the mail three days ago to be my final new scarf arrival of 2022. Chorus Stellarum is my scarf of the day.

I get what you are saying with leopardess. Which base color is this one? That olive? And what a fun triangle! I do love Pagni
I am on the road again early tomorrow to spend New Year's Eve weekend with family so am posting more of my recap tonight.
This year I found two of my grails as well as one long-coveted Robert Dallet and a Yannick Manier design, which was a personal goal in this particular cw. Amazingly, only the Dallet was above retail and the Manier was a downright bargain! The favor of the H Math Deities shone down upon me as I hit buy on these four...

Ummm where is the fainting couch! Your gorgeous pastel femme is tdf. This also is on my Hunt list as part of my ccp. The black and the brown ones just don’t suit me. And each of your other ones are beautiful on you! The ties you choose are always perfect for highlighting their beauty.
Hey all, I am not really ready to sum up the scarf year yet since I still have a few new ones to wear. Here is a Costume de Fête in 06.

View attachment 5679404
Wow!! This is gorgeous on you! Love seeing you in these soft colors. Also Love that you got two, or are there more we can look forward to?
Another model that was a big hit (I think I'll go for other colours).
The little bees are adorable
View attachment 5679407
It is a great design and agree those bees are the best. Wonderful outfit with it

My goal for 2023 is to learn how to showcase the different details/colors of one scarf each time I wear it that it looks like a different scarf altogether…

View attachment 5678103
Beautiful DC @H’sKisses - that one is definitely a chameleon design!
Virtual trip to the beach today. Hermès on the beach...
View attachment 5678145I think the harder a scarf is to find, the more precious it becomes in a collection (and that's an understatement for this one!). In my often futile attempt to rationalise my purchases, I have set myself some criteria. This one meets them all:
- contrasting edge
- colours that I don't have yet
- colours that go with my wardrobe
- interesting design
- different corners
- nice diagonal
In short, I love it
View attachment 5678146View attachment 5678147

En liberté : On the Move! What a nice name for this scarf that has seduced many of you this year. After trying on several colours, this is the one that went with me. This happy band of doggies gives me a lot of energy
View attachment 5678846
Brava @Coco2606 - these are both such fun scarves
This scarf wasn’t a 2022 purchase, but my approach to wearing it changed over the course of the year. When I first purchased it I was very precious about it, just wearing it for “special.” Now I love to wear it around the house and on errands to brighten up my drab colored but comfortable sweatshirt, or to the farmers market. I did remove it while I was painting some shelf standards earlier today ;)

View attachment 5678381
I’m in agreement @Teaforparrots - I wore a CSGM on a dog walk this week for the first time ever! There may be some irreplaceables that stay too precious for that but it’s a game changer mindset
Today I'm modeling two scarves that I was thrilled to be able to add to my collection during 2022.

First, the yellow Space Derby. I already have the navy blue Space Derby, and it is staying in the collection. I rehomed my pink Space Derby early in 2022, so I guess acquiring the yellow makes this a part of a CCP. The variegation of the colors and the number of colors in the hem vary considerably with this design, and the yellow is one of the most stunning. Which I noticed when I saw @Living.la.vida.fifi model hers, and thus it went onto my wishlist.

View attachment 5678408

I thought that Dans un Jardin Anglais was forever out of reach, but never say never. When this beauty arrived in the mail I finally understood why this design is so coveted. All the colorways are gorgeous. Hermes got it right with this scarf.

View attachment 5678407

Here are two more favorites that entered my collection during 2022. The first is the Limited Edition of La Vie Sauvage du Texas named for Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Conservation. I was especially delighted with the birds and wildflowers bordering the central animal drawing. A Kermit Oliver is always a special add to the scarf collection.

View attachment 5678935
View attachment 5678936View attachment 5678940

But the design that surprised me with how it captured my heart is Le Jeu des Petits Bonheurs. I have a soft spot for gaming scarves to begin with, but the little vignettes were a delight.

View attachment 5678937View attachment 5678938View attachment 5678941

This beauty has a permanent place in my rotation for Mother's Day. I tied it today showing the four-year-old blowing out the candles on her birthday cake.

Fabulous grails @Redbirdhermes
Dear Snausages, I was so busy when I responded to your post that I only managed to comment on your beautiful scarves, so let me say right now that I am sending you comfort for the burdens life has been dealing you :hugs:. Yes, retail therapy has its place in our lives. So does the sheer beauty of our silky treasures. And dang! That L’Ivresse is one happy cw!

Thank you, dear Fifi, for all the nice compliments and comments. My brooch is indeed a hand painted on wood Russian pin. The details are exquisite it’s my favorite holiday brooch, not the least because my DH gave it to me for Christmas several years ago. My Santa Moon is another holiday treasure.
View attachment 5678415

A most fabulous post, Fifi, chock full of all good things. Your Buche de Noel is amazing! Beautifully presented. I was not able to acquire my favorite cw of Sous Le Charme, which is stunning on you. H.com never got it, to my knowledge and disappointment. But I consoled myself with a twilly, which I adore. Archive shot.

The Santa pin is sterling and enamel and is by Nicole Barr. This piece is what I believe is hard-fired enamel. The other piece that I have by her studio is a “plique a jour” dragonfly pin. It’s like stained glass.

‘Saving the best for last’…. Hrmmm…
This year was a doozy fer sure, and I am patting myself on the back for making it through - with the help of a lil Vitamin H!

My favorite purchases though… that’s a tough decision - because Hooooo Wheeee - I had a really good year - 2 grails , some beautiful moussies, a LE, and several lovely scarves both old and new.

Because I haven’t posted in a few days - I’ll show a few right away!

Coming soon is next year's thread so you can have a look at it a few days early. I will try to get to that here in a bit.

I wish I knew where were were, but I am so behind, I can't catch up and need to prepare myself for the next round of themes. So, while I am feeling better, and felt well enough today to put on some makeup. I still have a couple of pics from the last couple of days of no make up, and feeling it too...Sadly, I did have to go out yesterday for groceries (masked of course) but that wore me out entirely.

Today I am wearing the third and final of my Chorus Stellarum, which is indeed one of my favorite purchases of this year (all three that is.. )

Here is my newest one. Joining my twins out there with the orange bronze and pink colorway.

Oooooo to this purple lover, I am in love. And with the pearls  . And I absolutely love your heirloom pearl story. I don’t know which post it was in, but that is just so special to break apart the multi strand.

And it is a perfect consolation prize to the larger 90. It still has the magic in the twilly

Alllllll fabulous! Amazing additions

I decided to do a collage. It was a year of manyyyy grails for me! It was also the year of purple. First row: tous les bateaux, potager extraordinaire, sieste au paradis ( has some moody purple-like in center)- all three grails long searched for close to retail. Second row: ailes de soie, astrologie nouvelle, Jaguar quetzal. Third row: Ballet aquatique ( purchased 4 cw’s before finding my fav), Appaloosa des steppes, on a summers day.

All amazing on you, but wow I am smitten with your colorway of pawnee. Stunning

THIS is an amazing collection of csgms. Wow! I do have a favorite tho and that is your zenobie, it is stunning and looks absolutely beautiful on you!

perfection! And such a unique format in this design.

Wowza. This was made for you with that jacket color. What beautiful colors in this liberte.

All wonderful additions. Funny how those csgm’s just multiply haha

I forgot you had this cw of danse. And thx for the info on the artist.

Oooo love this cw. It is perfect with your lippie

Such a sweet gift from your boys. They did a great job.

I never would have given encadre a second thought were it not for you. I was very close to buying one but waiting too long and it got sold. I still think about it haha. And the pink pegasus is so pretty.

congratulations on your grail!! Such a great feeling. Love seeing your smile about it. These all are beautiful

Kermit is the best. Wish I had more. And great colorway of your game scarf! Love it with the light pink. It all reminds me of sweet sweet nursery kid time.

Going to follow suit with my moussies today. These both are special. Maharaja is a unique process of design. I remember reading about it. M

And @Snausages, Glad someone else is the same pace haha. It is scary writing down the number . And I only brought in one gav, And one doll twilly! I actually stayed on my ban pretty well on those haha. I did rehome about 12 of both of those though this year. I just wasn’t using them enough. I think I have a pile that is real love now. I am struggling though on my ban because I really love the faubourg tropical detail gav in purples and pinks.

I am following Sammy with my two moussies acquired this year. ?Rusty copper/burgundy? degrade changeant and aux portes des palais changeant. I rehomed 2 changeants this year as I had two with similar colors and had to pick a fav and portes won. And the other just wasn’t my color even tho gorgeous. Never in my life did I think I would rehome a changeant :girlshocked: .
View attachment 5678978
TY for the warm wishes @Nomad and I too refuse to look at the final tally (says she who just ordered a Costume de fete)! Your purples are Wowzers but those changeants - I die

The second Kermit Oliver was this Pani la Shar Pawnee wash scarf

As always @Living.la.vida.fifi the breadth of your collex and beautiful knots has me swooning. That CdL knit shows off the two sides so perfectly
For me 2022 was also a year of exploring the larger formats. I fell hard for the CSGM and the CSGT in FW 2021, buying my first ones in the boutique and then acquiring my grail Parures at the end of last year. This year I decided that I wanted to anchor my small (but growing) CSGM collection with four older designs and I was lucky to find them for retail or under and in excellent condition. I wear these at night for the most part so I apologize for the lighting in my photos.

The first one two show is a grail that I found surprisingly one morning surfing my usual sites. I really rushed to put it into the bin and push buy  La Vie du Grand Nord as a big moussie. I didn’t even know something like this existed. And two weeks later I found a matching Lift necklace. The Hapi I had in my collection before View attachment 5678841View attachment 5678842

Hello fellow scarfies!

I started the new thread up for 2023 so everyone can preview it for the next few days. We have it temporarily locked so no body has to be confused over which thread is active right now for posting.

TY for the 2023 preview @bunnycat and love how you’ve knotted LL! The GT is stunning - I love bold colors and swirls
Thank you dear scarfies for another lovely year. I've so enjoyed being part of this great crew. Although my seasons are reversed here in Australia I love seeing everyone's contributions, and the comraderie we share in our love of silks. My year started by adding a second Eleftheria. This one is really special to me as I had attempted to purchase it several times. And sorry to repeat the story, but I eventually found one late at night after a few beverages with friends. Unfortunately I was on the Austrian site, not the Australian site, I don't know how it happened but my payment went through and subsequently I had Hermes looking all over Austria for my package. It was resolved and cancelled. Luckily the scarf became available on NYE 2021, so I pulled the trigger and received my first scarf of 2022. I had resolved to build a small curated collection of scarves I would wear frequently. That resolution went out the window pretty quickly. First was Eleftheria followed by Marble silk Brides de Gala, Selle Imaginaire, Selle Imaginaire dossard, Grand Theatre Nouveau CSGM, Lanterns Ballons & Cocrdes, Tied up in knots and finally Sur mon nuage. So, at the conclusion of this year. I have decided that even though I have added more scarves, I still feel very happy with my "smallish" curated collection. Wishing you all Health and happiness in 2023.
