Wow, what amazing 2022 acquisitions so far.

SOTD faubourg party, when you live in DC Metro occasionally you get to do neat things like volunteer at the White House, just me hanging out with some First Ladies.

..my niece asked me the other day why I take so many selfies, I told her I’m getting the slide show ready for my eventual funeral.

For me 2022 was also a year of exploring the larger formats. I fell hard for the CSGM and the CSGT in FW 2021, buying my first ones in the boutique and then acquiring my grail Parures at the end of last year. This year I decided that I wanted to anchor my small (but growing) CSGM collection with four older designs and I was lucky to find them for retail or under and in excellent condition. I wear these at night for the most part so I apologize for the lighting in my photos.

Your large format CSs are so gorgeous, Lkb, and we are twins with Acte III. I love how you styled it for an evening event. The other CSs that you showcase here are beautifully tied. A worthy collection!

Your bout of covid sounds rough! I hope a few more days of rest does the trick.
I think I had a very mild bout, but am taking no chances with the tiredness and coughing. So I am taking it slow.

You Fbg Party looks fantastic on you!

This is such a lovely tie to showcase two of the tails on your lovely Duo Cosmique @H’sKisses. And an inspirational goal!

Thank you @Coco2606 -- I love them equally. Have been to three of the four...Someday...

Your criteria are really thoughtful and well planned Coco! And this is a delightful scarf. It was a Mother's Day gift to me and I adore the vignettes-- it is full of fun fun fun and darling images.

I think it is great that you have started just wearing it @Teaforparrots! That transition happened for me at the start of the pandemic when I made a pact to wear a scarf every single day. It was good to de-mystify them and begin to enjoy them more!

Thank you @Karenska. I can't pick a favorite-- each one is so stunning in its way. But now I feel like a real collector!

Thank you @Katharina Luise! It reminds me of reading the great Russian novels as a young teenaged girl-- full of beauty and mystery...

Thank you @Karenska.

My sister to yours is going to make an appearance this week also @Nomad! I was absolutely smitten with this design last spring.

Just a lovely parade of beauties to have amassed over the year @Cookiefiend!

I am glad you re starting to feel better and I love being 2/3rds triplets with you on Chorus Stellarum. I "did a thing" (yep-- another thing)-- so now I have three also. I am telling myself these cws are not to be missed... I love your beautiful csgms @bunnycat. No better way to feel beautiful and cozy even when yu are not 100% the scarf makes up for it...

Thank you so much @Nomad. Paris was the first one I acquired and Moscou the last. Love them all-- cannot pick a favorite!

Gorgeous-- what a banner year for your (for any!) collection. Truly spectacular @Nomad and so well chosen, too. I a happy to have just become your twin on JQ-- th emost lovely cw among so many lovely ones! Ad of course I adore the Sieste au Paradis. Your Ailes de la Soie and Tous les Bateaux are so unusual and perfectly suited to your coloring. Brava. An amazing year. I am in awe. :ps:

Beautiful! I think you have absolutely earned the title of Bandana Queen-- you pick them so perfectly and you really really make the format so appealing with your stylings. Carreve is amazing as are the others: Equateur, Pytheas...just lovely @Karenska!
Thank you kindly LKB!

Thank you so very much!

These are all such wonderful choices! And, my eyes are drawn to that striking Chorus Stellarum with which I am yoir twin

So incredibly beautiful!

Thank you so much!

They couldn’t be more different, which is a great thing and they both look so amazing on you!

Oh how fabulous is this!

Thank you ever so much!

How lucky you are to own all four! What a beautiful and special collection!

Love this CW

So wearable and versatile!

Such glorious choices! My fav is the amazing En Liberté but all are perfect additions to yoir collex

Wonderful on you

Thank you so very much!

That Space Derby is truly masterful and one that on a class of its own… It is truly made for you in this CW… And, the DUJA is swoon-worthy

Thank you so much for posting these… I love Russian lacquer pins and this one is so special! And, the Santa brooch is delightful… Is it signed Art or AAI?

This design works so beautifully as a twilly

So amazing!

Oh, what a parade of lovelies! Each one a different format and very varied colorations! Awesome additions. I twin with you on the glorious MP Coloriage

Love them all and each one is truly made for you. And, Chorus Stellarum is worth multiples… great choices, all

Thank you so very much!

What a fabulous post showing a breathtaking parade and you saved mu favorite, purple Zavabushka for last

All so fabulous and I especially love the bandannas on you

Such amazing selfies in a very special setting!
Thank you fifi!

Today I share some favorite acquisitions from fairly recent collections…
The amazing double-sided Clair de Lune

Though I had purchased the black CW of Duo Cosmique last year, I received the beautiful pink CW as a Mother’s Day gift this year
View attachment 5678745

And, two favorite Kermit Oliver designs entered my collection this year. The first was this Kachinas giant triangle. Though I already own two other CWs, I always regretted not getting this one and was thrilled that it finally came my way
View attachment 5678748

The second Kermit Oliver was this Pani la Shar Pawnee wash scarf

And, finally, I added this beauty in a new-to-me format: Equateur maxi twilly cut

Yes- the deep downward plunge in to large formats.... :panic: But you came away with some real beauties!

The first one two show is a grail that I found surprisingly one morning surfing my usual sites. I really rushed to put it into the bin and push buy  La Vie du Grand Nord as a big moussie. I didn’t even know something like this existed. And two weeks later I found a matching Lift necklace. The Hapi I had in my collection before View attachment 5678841View attachment 5678842

En liberté : On the Move! What a nice name for this scarf that has seduced many of you this year. After trying on several colours, this is the one that went with me. This happy band of doggies gives me a lot of energy

Beautiful color combo here! It looks so happy!

And like LKBNOLA I began to collect CSGMs this year. So I went from owning one to owning four. Plus two big scarves in wool/silk mix. Plus a cashmere losange.

Just love this last week of the year in this wonderful thread!! Thank you for all the lovely eye candy so far!! ❤️ - My first and my last shawl this year have been CSGMs: FT came as an unexpected love at first sight into my life and Cosmographia in a CW that I missed out at the time of release. One of my CSGM grails also joined lucky me recently: Imprimeur Fou Charabia! I am, unfortunately, working this week but I will try to post further treasures these next few days…

Here are two more favorites that entered my collection during 2022. The first is the Limited Edition of La Vie Sauvage du Texas named for Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Conservation. I was especially delighted with the birds and wildflowers bordering the central animal drawing. A Kermit Oliver is always a special add to the scarf collection.

That Faubourg Tropicale is :faint: gorgeous!!!!

Hello fellow scarfies!

I started the new thread up for 2023 so everyone can preview it for the next few days. We have it temporarily locked so no body has to be confused over which thread is active right now for posting.

Another scarf that entered my collection this year is a different colorway of Scotland. Early on in my collecting I purchased two Scotland original issue colorways, the red and the green. While I adore the red, the green had extensive yellowing that put me off from wearing it. So, I finally replaced it with this newer black and orange colorway.

View attachment 5677827View attachment 5677826View attachment 5677824

Ever since @xincinsin posted about Imprimeur Fou I have been looking for an example for my collection. I recently found this Imprimeuer Fou Couvertures d'Ex-Libris cotton/silk beauty and am delighted to introduce it today.

View attachment 5677825View attachment 5677823
I always associate you with Scotland @Redbirdhermes
Today’s SOTD with double Space Derby, incorporating my new twilly which was under the tree.

This is my first attempt at combining, which doesn’t work as well as I’d hoped as the reds aren’t quite a match but I’ll keep playing around with them.

View attachment 5677834
Space Derby twillies = irresistible! Love the red 90 too @paula24jen
@Pirula i got the mod shot in the Gene Kelly navy for you
Happy Hanukkah and Happy Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

It goes wonderfully with green @Iflola

Welcome! And, what an entrance with such a fabulous shawl! Definitely festive colors and great for the holiday season!

Oh my… Love this!

These are awesome!

Both are amazing and so special! You are lucky to have found the spectacular Madison Party… and, your pendant is genius with both silks as the design equals design elements on both scarves

My heavens! A treasure… and, an unicorn! You are so lucky to have found this one and can’t wait to see your complete collex of De Passages!

Thank you so very much!

Three amazing additions… So happy to be your twin on Ivresse and Premier Chant… incredible pattern mixing on the last one, BTW and fabulous knots on all

Beautiful pairing with the earrings which are perfectly suited for the scarf!

What a beautiful post… I love everything! The scarves are magnificent, and I should know as I twin with you on both and I also got both this year!! Love your decor and your manicure is amazing, as is that incredible ring!

Thank you so very kindly!

What a beautiful post! We are very lucky to have gotten a hold of this Laboratoires this year… As usual your pattern mixing is extraordinary… And, you will rock the Gene Kelly… Such a fabulous still life with those amazing shoes before the Christmas tree!

Oh my, so sorry to hear about your Covid episode! Hope you are doing better! I’ve always wanted this CW of Decoupages as I feel it is the perfect holiday scarf… And, congrats on the white Noel! Truly a treasure

Love this CW on you… Looks amazing with that top

Both are so very special and hard to find! Beautifully accessorized and styled! Must say that that yellow contrast hem on Madison Avenue is fabulous

Aaaah, love them all! The larger beads worn with Lalbhai and BdG Finesse are gorgeous and all are styled to perfection as usual

Nothing like a special scarfie friend that is so incredibly thoughtful! They are all amazing additions and look so beautiful on you!

The best CW of this shawl, IMO… and, paired with such a beautiful pin

Thank you so very much!

Just beautiful! And adore that brooch! Is this a Russian or Polish hand painted one? What are the details on this holiday beauty?

So fabulous! The shade of pink is sublime

And, they all look magnificent on you! You wear each one to perfection

Ooh, I am loving your new Cw of Scotland, and the Imprimeur Fou is so special! Love it tied in this simple knot and worn with those magnificent pearls

What a great idea to pair them together! This is the CW I wanted but never made it online or to the store… It is striking!

What a beautiful picture! You look amazing

Today I present every single silk from the Hermès 2022 collections that I acquired this year. BTW, I also have Le Premier Chant from the Spring/Summer 2022 collection, but it was a 2021 Christmas gift, so technically not a part of this year’s tally

TY @Living.la.vida.fifi and oh my word what delightful new ins! That Tea Time  And such a gorgeous Christmas setting! That level of hostessing is beyond my realm of capabilities; I am in awe
I always love wrapping up the end of year with a good look at my own collection and also love seeing everyone’s new pieces. It’s such a fun week!
I brought in 35 scarves this year, 26 exited my collection to new homes. I have a lot more to go to new homes still :hrmm:. My plan is to release an older piece in my collection if I bring in a new piece, in an attempt to really hone my collection to those I ReAlLy love and can’t live without. I got MANY grails this year, which is super exciting, even if overwhelming :-0.
5 are from the 2022 seasons ( I think. I get confused sometimes based on how late I can get my hands on scarves sometimes). lanterns, chorus, becanes, double face passades, and marble doll twilly I have no photo of. 1 I bought in 2022, but is from 2021 I think, tea time. 2 are older designs that popped on h.com this year, farniente pareo ( my only pareo) and kachinas wash ( my only wash).

Wow, @Snausages! You certainly have had a time of it. I hope life becomes more smooth for you soon and I’m especially sorry to read about your ill parents (same thing for me with my mother) and the passing of your beloved pet. Heartfelt condolences. Love your first three additions for 2022. Twins on the Le Premiere Chant.

Thank you so much @Croisette7-- I always love being twins! Hoping your holidays are lovely...

All lovely, @Karenska.

Congratulations on your beautiful -- and very different-- scarves. Scarfie friends who need/want to rehome are indeed a special delight @Snausages :winkiss: :hugs: (Thank you)

I am glad you successfully were able to "CCP" your Scotland with this new beauty @Redbirdhermes and that Imprimeur Fou cotton is just wonderful...

Looks good from this vantage point @paula24jen -- love this idea! This makes me want to try it...

Beautiful photo! Love the Gene Kelly with the green top @Iflola! Happy Holidays.

I truly enjoy yours as well @Coco2606 and there is no better place to share your passion and allow it to flourish...

Thank you so much @Living.la.vida.fifi ...

You made some very beautiful seasonal choices @Living.la.vida.fifi -- lovely to see them all together like this!

Thank you @GloWW0rM!

I love each and every one of these @Nomad and how remarkable that you were able to rehome as many as you did. I guess that just makes room for more...

Beautiful gift and perfect for you @scarf1!

I am going to have to double post to fit all my year end recap into the week! To paraphrase the Beatles' song "Eight days a week is not enough to show" ...my scarves! I spend way too much time making these fun "pic collages" ever since @Nomad showed how she does them. This one shows four designs by Nathalie Vialars: (left to right) De Passage a Moscou, De Passage a Tokyo, (second row) De Passage a Paris and De Passage a New York. Although I acquired the Paris and New York scarves in 2020 and 21, I am including them because I completed the "set" this year and that felt like an accomplishment!

Okay, just quickly… :giggle: My two moussie grails this year: The very special Splendeurs des Maharajas and the heavely Nuees Imaginaires… Had been hunting for these two for many, many years:

Going to follow suit with my moussies today. These both are special. Maharaja is a unique process of design. I remember reading about it. M

And @Snausages, Glad someone else is the same pace haha. It is scary writing down the number . And I only brought in one gav, And one doll twilly! I actually stayed on my ban pretty well on those haha. I did rehome about 12 of both of those though this year. I just wasn’t using them enough. I think I have a pile that is real love now. I am struggling though on my ban because I really love the faubourg tropical detail gav in purples and pinks.

I am following Sammy with my two moussies acquired this year. ?Rusty copper/burgundy? degrade changeant and aux portes des palais changeant. I rehomed 2 changeants this year as I had two with similar colors and had to pick a fav and portes won. And the other just wasn’t my color even tho gorgeous. Never in my life did I think I would rehome a changeant :girlshocked: .
