I am going to have to double post to fit all my year end recap into the week! To paraphrase the Beatles' song "Eight days a week is not enough to show" ...my scarves! I spend way too much time making these fun "pic collages" ever since @Nomad showed how she does them. This one shows four designs by Nathalie Vialars: (left to right) De Passage a Moscou, De Passage a Tokyo, (second row) De Passage a Paris and De Passage a New York. Although I acquired the Paris and New York scarves in 2020 and 21, I am including them because I completed the "set" this year and that felt like an accomplishment!

Everything is perfect : colors, earings, knots, scarves of course. I cannot tell which one I prefer...

Haha, I’m trying NOT to think that way haha. I need my collection to shrink ;). I had a great year for rehoming. I am pleased. And oh so thankful I have not missed one of them…phew. That’s always the fear right…that we might regret when we pass ours along! I even rehomed a Samourais and am a-ok about it. Phew.
Whaatt you "rehomed" a Samouraï... And you feel ok about it ! Tell me you have several others (a small samouraïs' squad) !

Hehe. I do indeed have a squad . I am very happy with what remains. 3 90’s and 3 140’s. I sold the brights 90 colorway. My light complexion/hair/blue-gray eyes can not handle high contrast neon brights.

Virtual trip to the beach today. Hermès on the beach...
IMG_20221227_092527.jpgI think the harder a scarf is to find, the more precious it becomes in a collection (and that's an understatement for this one!). In my often futile attempt to rationalise my purchases, I have set myself some criteria. This one meets them all:
- contrasting edge
- colours that I don't have yet
- colours that go with my wardrobe
- interesting design
- different corners
- nice diagonal
In short, I love it

Cruel world... I'm too late, what a tragedy! Just in case, I'm ready to offer a shelter to the valiant samurais ready to join my little squad of scarves. My brunette type/brown eyes can handle contrast

This scarf wasn’t a 2022 purchase, but my approach to wearing it changed over the course of the year. When I first purchased it I was very precious about it, just wearing it for “special.” Now I love to wear it around the house and on errands to brighten up my drab colored but comfortable sweatshirt, or to the farmers market. I did remove it while I was painting some shelf standards earlier today ;-)

Thank you @LKBNOLA and congrats on the very special SEs!

Oh dear @Nomad I’m so sorry the bug got you :crybaby: It does linger but it’s always a delight to see you and the scarves are fabulous

What a lovely gift @Coco2606

The pinks are divine @Pirula

Thank you so kindly @Croisette7

Thank you for the lovely compliment @Karenska and allow me to return it! These are all lovely but I insist you forego cashmere when stopping by your local shop because kitty will be hurt with the absence of cuddles! Beautiful amaryllis! I’ve not seen that color before. Which reminds me it’s time for my annual raid of after-Christmas amaryllis sales - they do remarkably well in my yard and I adore their large blooms

How I love this design! Jingle Bells pops in from time to time when I contemplate the horses and carriages here.
L'Hiver en Poste is one of my favorite winter holiday scarves.

As travelers struggle with canceled flights and snowy highways today, this scarf reminds us of times before air or auto travel. Look at those horses struggling to get through the deep snow on an unplowed road.

Here is a quick mod shot then I'm back inside. I'm wearing my best pearls today, peacock Tahitians from Kamoka Pearls.

Such pretty blues and reds. I’ve pretty much decided that I need to stop treating my scarves like holy relics . I need to just WEAR them and ENJOY them.

Thank you @Lellabelle and @Karenska-- I hope you will wear yours soon, too. What could be better than a starry night of silk? The cake is just a simple cake but like many Jewish recipes it is made with oil instead of butter. Otherwise it is a mix of apples, walnuts, cinnamon nestled between two layers of almond flavored batter and dusted with confectioners sugar! Very simple and delish!

And speaking if cake! The perfect holiday scarf-- looks great with your nice knot and your red sweater @mktlim...

Thank you so much @Croisette7 and I wish you a happy and joyful Christmas!

I love the way you wove your strand of pearls around the scarf @Redbirdhermes. Great scarf and best wishes for a very Merry Christmas. I bet your little grandson will have a wonderful time...enjoy your holiday...

Photo evidence of your impressive holiday baking but an even better angle to show your beautiful top and scarf combination! How nice to think of days getting longer and future gardens @Teaforparrots! Happy Holidays...
Sounds delicious!

Fun week of preparations and celebrations events, and everyone’s scarves are inspirational! Very grateful to @Karenska for a wonderful intro and reminder of 130s anniversary of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker premiere at Mariinsky! Your La Comedie Italienne is gorgeous! I am joining in with my festive Les Ballets Russes (sorry, I’ve posted it before, but it’s apropos now) worn today for holidays lunch with friends:

Thank you, again, dear Stylehound, looking at these mod shots and photos again, you look as exotic and mysterious as the BLR dancers.
