Welcome! And, what an entrance with such a fabulous shawl! Definitely festive colors and great for the holiday season!Hello everyone
I take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas . I am new here, having purchased my first scarf just a few months ago. I am very happy to have found this wonderful forum.
Today, I am wearing my third and most recent cashmere shawl, Botanica Grafica cw 02.
I tried to take a decent picture, realising I do need some more experience tying my shawls
Joyeux Noël!!
Edit: if anyone knows how to get my picture straight, I will be very grateful ☺️

Both are amazing and so special! You are lucky to have found the spectacular Madison Party… and, your pendant is genius with both silks as the design equals design elements on both scarvesThank you for a wonderfully festive week, @Karenska, and welcome to Christmas Day and to help us ring out the old year, @Living.la.vida.fifi. I am looking forward to your compilation of 2022 scarves with great anticipation.
I was delighted to find this most special Madison Party scarf a few weeks ago. It is perfect for days like today when our temperatures are below zero Fahrenheit.

These scarves were both hard to find given that I live several states away from the nearest boutique. I do appreciate the sellers who, for reasons unknown, decided these scarves were not for them.
Happy Holidays to all!
My heavens! A treasure… and, an unicorn! You are so lucky to have found this one and can’t wait to see your complete collex of De Passages!A very Merry Christmas Day to all my beautiful TPF friends! And a very warm and grateful thank you to @Karenska and @Living.la.vida.fifi for hosting last week and this. I am thrilled to share a grail for me that also is 1) a crossover scarf from Holiday Week (and even from Purple Week!) and 2) this completes my collection of four De Passage Scarves. I will post the set as part of this week's theme as two of the four came to me in this calendar year. I hope that whether you are celebrating the 7th night of Chanukah or Christmas Day, you found an orange box in your pile of gifts much like the ones on my scarf!

Thank you so very much!Merry Christmas dear @Living.la.vida.fifi and thank you so much for your beautiful welcoming post on this special day. Your ornaments, flowers and beautiful photos are so inviting and special but your parade of scarves is amazing and makes me respect your phenomenal eye and curatorial skills all the more-- something to learn from and emulate for me! Your new acquisitions are so beautiful and thoughtfully added to your already amazing collection. I cannot pick a favorite here but I can say that I believe you will love your new aubergine En Liberte! as much as you love your bright one!
Three amazing additions… So happy to be your twin on Ivresse and Premier Chant… incredible pattern mixing on the last one, BTW and fabulous knots on allForgive me Scarflandia for I have not posted in weeks! Life has been getting in the way (many of you can relate to ill parents, visiting relatives, the passing of a beloved pet, the addition of new pets) and once a day gets away from me it’s impossible to keep up beyond hitting the like button. Le sigh.
Things are settling down and my heavens I have enough fodder to post several new-ins every day this week (three cheers for retail therapy!).
I started the year adding L’Ivresse, DUJA and Premier Chant

Beautiful pairing with the earrings which are perfectly suited for the scarf!As I was looking through my scarves this morning I realized that because of my complexion and color preferences, nearly all of them could count as festive scarves! I selected my weekend in space scarf to go with the fabulous earrings that were under the tree, and because I could probably use a weekend space holiday to recover after Christmas :-;

And, for @LKBNOLA, @Teaforparrots and all our other bakers, here’s the cake I spent half a day baking the day before. Not a festive cake, per se, but traditional for us: I make it every year as it’s my husband’s favourite. It’s a recipe I developed over the years, that’s somewhere between a carrot cake and a passion cake, with a few additional elements thrown in. Like Nola’s it’s made with oil instead of butter, and generous quantities of rum soaked dates, pineapple, pistachios, pecans, walnuts, carrots, cardamom and spices. Covered in a cream cheese icing and layered with ginger jam. It takes most of the day to prepare, but it’s worth it.

Oh my, so sorry to hear about your Covid episode! Hope you are doing better! I’ve always wanted this CW of Decoupages as I feel it is the perfect holiday scarf… And, congrats on the white Noel! Truly a treasureHello all. So wonderful to catch up and love all your photos for weeks. Covid took me down for 8 days in bed, and several days after that where I was only half with-it So haven’t been able to contribute. I was bummed to miss my favorite purple color week too.
This week I wore my gav of decoupages. I love to wear this during the holidays. It’s very festive. Sorry for the awful photo. And today I wore my special find this year of Noel au 24 Faubourg. I did not have to sell a kidney for it either which is always good! Both these scarves spark nostalgia for me. Decoupages for the paper cutting which my grandmother had samples of hung up on her walls when I was growing up, and my mother ( an artist) did as an art form. And Noel for the ornaments on the scarf that my grandmother had identical ones of from Germany. I now own them and bring them out for Christmas.

Must say that that yellow contrast hem on Madison Avenue is fabulousI am going to do a "highlights reel" this week. 2022 was a year in which I completed my CCP program and also did some of what @CedarWaxWing calls "backfilling" from prior seasons. I continued collecting by artist, concentrating on Virginie Jamin, Pierre Marie and Dmitri Rybalchenko. But I also was lucky to add two Special or Limited Edition scarves: Voitures Exquises in honor of Queen Elizabeth and then more recently, the 100 cashmere silk souvenir scarf for the opening of the new flagship store on Madison Avenue:

Beautiful decoration and flowers! Love your Rosee! ... and twins on EA.
Hello twin! So chic with pearls and earrings!
The best CW of this shawl, IMO… and, paired with such a beautiful pinI forgot to post Acte III, Lkb. Lots of activity in a short time. It was 12 degrees and so cold so this is unglamorous but I was certainly warm. Because CSGMs aren’t just pretty.
View attachment 5677699A quick little story. On an adjacent main street near my home is a natural foods store which I support and shop in for a few staples. They have a darling new kitten, a bodacious, energetic little girl who seems to really like me. I like, no, LOVE her! When I come in, she barrels down the aisle to greet me and I scoop her up, give her kisses and hugs, and then she’s ready to play. Or, one of the owners’ kids will pick her up and hand her to me. This time, I was wearing Acte III and the son, seeing me, picked her up to bring her to me. Oh, dear, I had to refrain, explaining why. Because, as we all know, cats and CSGMs don’t really mix. Claws will find their way…. I petted her carefully and now I owe her a good visit next time.

Ooh, I am loving your new Cw of Scotland, and the Imprimeur Fou is so special! Love it tied in this simple knot and worn with those magnificent pearlsAnother scarf that entered my collection this year is a different colorway of Scotland. Early on in my collecting I purchased two Scotland original issue colorways, the red and the green. While I adore the red, the green had extensive yellowing that put me off from wearing it. So, I finally replaced it with this newer black and orange colorway.

Save The Best For Last: Your favorite purchases this year, new or vintage
Happy Sunday and a very Merry Christmas, my dear scarfie friends!
I wish you all much health, joy, and blessings this holiday season and a bounty of silken treasures in the coming year. I wish to thank our dear @Karenska for hosting a fabulous week of holiday favorites. And, my apologies for being absent for most of it as my week began with a series of unexpected challenges which put a halt to all of my holiday preparations. Through it all, I was finally able to get home and table ready for the holidays. Here are a few festive images which include the chocolate streusel coffee cake we are about to devour.

So, here we are wrapping up 2022 on SOTD with what is my favorite week on the forum for we finally have a chance to tally up all our silk acquisitions of the year and share our favorites. I personally plan to show all of the scarves that entered my collection in 2022 and, if you so wish, I invite you to do the same.
This year I purchased a variety of twill 90s, giant silks, 70cms, mousselines and CSGMs. I also purchased one giant triangle and tried a new-to-me format: the maxi twilly. This was a year of discovery of new designs, experimentation with new formats and fulfillment of a few coveted Grails.
A trend in my collecting habits that I noticed is that this year I gravitated towards adding multiples of a specific design. I also noticed I had a versatile year that incorporated wide varieties of formats and styles.
I kick off the week with my favorite 90cm twill design from the 2022 collections: En Liberté. This fabulous piece, especially for the dog lovers, is incredibly versatile and wearable. I purchased the first CW below in the summer, and was delighted to find the aubergine CW this morning under the Christmas tree.

This year one of of my all-time Grails entered my collection: the marvelous Doigts de Fee in this coveted CW.
View attachment 5677176
Speaking of Grails, this year I was able to find an extraordinary mousseline that I had almost lost hope of owning: the exquisite changeant La Rosee
View attachment 5677179
Since I live in a tropical climate, I have abstained from purchasing CSGMs lately, but I did add two long-time favorites to my collection this year. I had plans to wear one of my classic holiday scarves to Christmas Mass this morning, but we are having a cold front as the temps have dipped into the 40s, so it is the perfect opportunity to wear one of them: the magnificent, festive Early America. Not a holiday design, but one that I find appropriate for the day.

I am looking forward to this fun and exciting week as we recap our treasured acquisitions of 2022 and share our recent marvels. I expect nothing short of a dazzling parade. And, as always, I encourage all to share our actual SOTDs. It is a great honor and pleasure to host this wonderful week as we ring out another silken year together

Lovely lovely!I always love wrapping up the end of year with a good look at my own collection and also love seeing everyone’s new pieces. It’s such a fun week!
I brought in 35 scarves this year, 26 exited my collection to new homes. I have a lot more to go to new homes still. My plan is to release an older piece in my collection if I bring in a new piece, in an attempt to really hone my collection to those I ReAlLy love and can’t live without. I got MANY grails this year, which is super exciting, even if overwhelming :-0.
5 are from the 2022 seasons ( I think. I get confused sometimes based on how late I can get my hands on scarves sometimes). lanterns, chorus, becanes, double face passades, and marble doll twilly I have no photo of. 1 I bought in 2022, but is from 2021 I think, tea time. 2 are older designs that popped on h.com this year, farniente pareo ( my only pareo) and kachinas wash ( my only wash).
