Thank you, dear @Karenska for such a beautiful and meaningful introduction to this festive week!
Today I attended Sunday Mass wearing one of my favorites of all time: Neige d’Antan

And, a pic of it from the archives in a knot I love to make with it. I posted it on Friday as I wore it leaving the house to do errands, but it ended up in this knot by the end of the day

A scarf that I find delightfully appropriate for the holidays is Les Merises in this CW

And, even though not a holiday theme, this Brazil is a festive powerhouse

Finally, though Feux d’Artifice doesn’t sport traditional holiday colors, I find it to be quite festive

And, ending with one of my massive Christmas tree brooches on a non-H hand-woven artisanal shawl

All so festive and appropriate to the joyous season, Fifi. So, so lovely.

Regarding scarf displacement, the best laid plans for knots and ties “gang aft a-gley” - apologies to Robert Burns and his poignant poem “To a Mouse”. My scarves rearranging themselves on my neck is a major feature of my scarf style .

As for non-holiday themed scarves being festive on their own, yes to that, agreed, as we will see throughout the week :graucho:.

Thank you for a beautiful introduction-- so many wonderful things to unpack here, @Karenska! I think I took my kids to see the Nutcracker ballet every year for almost twenty years of our time as a New York City family. Many of my daughter's friends were in the children's corps de ballet and everyone was always so envious of their special Nutcracker jackets! We collect nutcrackers in our family and sadly, they are all in New Orleans where I udually am at this time of year. I am particularly fond of my Moses Nutcracker and my New Orleans Saints Football Nutcracker as well as the traditional ones! Your Comedie is stunning-- and a perfect holiday silk...
Thank you, Lkb, and Happy Chanukah. I am sure we will have lots of notes to compare about the Nut performances we have seen.
I’m sad that your Nutcracker collection is not with you. You must let your pups console you. :hugs:

 Scout is learning to walk on a leash! Mostly he tries to chew it, or roll in the grass or pounce on a leaf or bite your shoe laces. So he has a soft blue halter so we can control him while he figures it out. He does have a coat and a sweater too! I promise to revert to posting scarves instead of cute pups...
Suggestion! Post pics of scarves AND cute pups . Just please don’t be upset if cute pups upstage gorgeous scarves.

Thank you @Karenska for a great intro and the beautiful scarves! Love the details of Comedie!

Your purrfriend is a delight @Coco2606 be careful not to accidentally wrap him in paper!

Love this snow globe @Redbirdhermes

@lanit these colors are so soothing!

Squeeeeee Scout! Delighted you have him and the scarves are fabulous @LKBNOLA
Thank you, dear Snausages :hugs:.

And now to the start of the Holiday Week posts!

Two lovely lovely holiday looks @lanit!

@Coco2606 -- your scarf and vignettes are lovely but your cat is a stunner! What a beautiful face and those eyes are remarkable. Loved your holiday wrapping...

This lovely little casual moussie gets a holiday makeover with your black top and bee brooch @Karenska...

The gorgeous brooch is spectacular and so festive and your Noel in this cw is delightful and equally festive @Redbirdhermes-- you look fabulous!

Beautiful with the coin pearls @lanit and I am just thinking this would be an excellent Mardi Gras color shawl too! Some of the light green looks almost as shimmery as gold and you definitely have the purple and green covered!

Ah, yes. I have the pale blue and orange one and my daughter has the dark blue you have. We gave her friend the pink one for a big commemorative gift and in the process I just "did a thing" and ended up with the lovely lilac too...scarf madness @Karenska! But I think this one may be for framing...
Thank you, Lkb. I could see it framed, for sure. I love the colors in it - the royal purple and the roses and pinks - so pretty.

What a beautiful introduction! I had to go back and re-read and enjoy it again! I am so glad that you feature Comedie Italienne as a holiday scarf because I do as well… I have two CWs which I like to think as December silks… The design is so sumptuous and festive. i adore your beauty…
And, how wonderful to incorporate The Nutcracker ballet and its history into the post and week… Fabulous!
Thank you, Fifi, so happy you enjoyed my intro. I hope you will model your two LCI scarves for us to enjoy.
You can thank my husband for the Nutcracker inspiration - he brought me up a coffee just when I was about to post my intro and told me about Nut being 130 today. Well, me being the ballet nut that I am, I had to share. Then I immediately remembered the Polichinelles and related it back to Comedie and voila! A big cherry on top to wrap up my intro :ty:.

Happy Sunday, dear Scarfies, and thank you, Fifi @Living.la.vida.fifi, for your lovely Advent celebration of purple scarves, so many colorful beauties, and to everyone who showed off your treasures this week. I think of this week’s theme as a continuation of the last, as Fifi expressed it perfectly, “The joyful season beckons us to be a little more festive, merry and bright and what better way to show it than with our beloved silks.”

Jingle Bell Rock: Festive Scarves to Rock Your Holidays!
Welcome to the start of this sacred and peaceful time for all of us, a time of reflection, celebration, merrymaking and light. Hannukah, the Festival of Lights, begins tonight, December 18, with the lighting of the first candle of the Menorah. Today, the Fourth Sunday of Advent marks the start of Christmas week. Wednesday is the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, but also the beginning of a ‘new year’ of lengthening days. December 26 begins the African festival of Kwanzaa, or “First Fruits”. Each commemorates the shared promise of rebirth and renewal for all living things, and we welcome this time with joy. So let’s don our festive apparel, our sparkly jewelry, and of course, our beautiful, celebratory scarves as we begin our holiday season!

Festive SOTD, La Comedie Italienne by Phillipe Ledoux. Depicting the Commedia dell’Arte and all its reveling stock characters, I find this gem to be perfectly lovely for celebrating.

En pointe, also, because today is the 130th anniversary of the debut of Tschaikovsky’s iconic Nutcracker ballet. It premiered December 18, 1892 at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg.

Ivan Vsevolozhsky's original costume sketch for The Nutcracker (1892)

In the cast is a character called Mother Ginger whose skirt contains adorable Polichinelles, or little Pulchinellas, a Commedia dell’Arte stock figure of some importance . Here is their dance from New York City Ballet’s 1993 Nutcracker film. Macauley Culkin, already a star, was also a student at the School of American ballet, and was given the starring role of the Nutcracker Prince. Enjoy!

My Nutcracker display, complete with Sugarplum, pointe shoes, and a photo of the composer who made it all happen.

Thank you for this meaningful, inspiring introduction and delighted by your Nutcracker decorations.
Thank you also @Living.la.vida.fifi for the wonderful purple week.

Thank you for the beautiful and thoughtful introduction to this most holy and joyous time of year, @Karenska . I saved my favorite holiday scarf for today with its busy shoppers, the snow covered branches, and the little purple toys enjoying winter sports.

I'm wearing my Noel au 24 Faubourg today, along with my finest pendant/brooch.

Gorgeous scarf and pendant and so pretty with the deep purple sweater.

Well, asking everyone's indulgence for my post! I started my very early (and cold) day under a white New England sky trying to take a car selfie of my two scarf SOTD, then I collected a very special addition to our family. A little discombobulated after his flight to Boston from Atlanta, but by the end of the car ride, I was being showered with kisses. Meet Scout-- the newest addition to our family.

Aww he's adorable!

I am having am eerie feeling of deja vu with these quotes so if I already commented, apologies (maybe I will say something new!) and if I missed anyone in a previous multi-quote, I hope I caught you this time! (thank you @Snausages-- your quote just vanished...)
Lovely outfits with your Christmas pins and jewelry @Pirula!
So happy for you both as Scout will be the pampered baby of the house and Scout has been adopted by the most loving of families… These pictures are so precious… Mementos of a very special day! And, your outfit and scarf combo are delightful

Made for you… This is such a great design and so festive! I love to wear mine during the holidays

Thank you for your nice comments @Living.la.vida.fifi -- you inspired me with Neige d'Antan and I am just lost in admiration of your gorgeous holiday reds! That last brooch is amazing...

 Yes, next year I will have nutcrackers, pups and scarves all sorted by the holidays...
Aww he's adorable!
Thank you @HScarfCollector! It is a good thing he is so cute as we forget what is involved in bringing home a 12 week old puppy...
