Oh dear, fainting again. They are PRECIOUS!!! Maisie looks suitably bossmom. Scout is very tiny. Both are too adorable for words, you must be in heaven, Lkb. What is Scout wearing, please?
Scout is learning to walk on a leash! Mostly he tries to chew it, or roll in the grass or pounce on a leaf or bite your shoe laces. So he has a soft blue halter so we can control him while he figures it out. He does have a coat and a sweater too! I promise to revert to posting scarves instead of cute pups...

Hannukah, the Festival of Lights, begins tonight, December 18, with the lighting of the first candle of the Menorah. Today, the Fourth Sunday of Advent marks the start of Christmas week. Wednesday is the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, but also the beginning of a ‘new year’ of lengthening days. December 26 begins the African festival of Kwanzaa, or “First Fruits”. Each commemorates the shared promise of rebirth and renewal for all living things, and we welcome this time with joy. So let’s don our festive apparel, our sparkly jewelry, and of course, our beautiful, celebratory scarves as we begin our holiday season!
Festive SOTD, La Comedie Italienne by Phillipe Ledoux. Depicting the Commedia dell’Arte and all its reveling stock characters, I find this gem to be perfectly lovely for celebrating.

En pointe, also, because today is the 130th anniversary of the debut of Tschaikovsky’s iconic Nutcracker ballet. It premiered December 18, 1892 at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg.

In the cast is a character called Mother Ginger whose skirt contains adorable Polichinelles, or little Pulchinellas, a Commedia dell’Arte stock figure of some importance

Ah, yes. I have the pale blue and orange one and my daughter has the dark blue you have. We gave her friend the pink one for a big commemorative gift and in the process I just "did a thing" and ended up with the lovely lilac too...scarf madness @Karenska! Today I attended Sunday Mass wearing one of my favorites of all time: Neige d’Antan
And, a pic of it from the archives in a knot I love to make with it. I posted it on Friday as I wore it leaving the house to do errands, but it ended up in this knot by the end of the day
A scarf that I find delightfully appropriate for the holidays is Les Merises in this CW
And, even though not a holiday theme, this Brazil is a festive powerhouse
Finally, though Feux d’Artifice doesn’t sport traditional holiday colors, I find it to be quite festive
And, ending with one of my massive Christmas tree brooches on a non-H hand-woven artisanal shawl
