Gavroche time! I like this fun little pouf: Cosmos is today, Triplets from the archivesView attachment 5003309View attachment 5003310
love that purple with the gray!
A while back I tried a knot that dear @Cookiefiendchristened, The Fifi Knot... it is an easy and cute way to keep a scarf neatly secured and close to the face.
You basically fold the scarf into a rectangle and place around neck and shoulders as in the Octopus Knot. You then take the two points closer to the neck and tie into a knot. Then, you take the remaining two corners and tie into a knot right underneath the first knot. Then, you arrange and fluff out.
Here are some examples, even using one scarf ring for the top knot, and another time using two vintage Bakelite buckles

Amazing!

Beautiful!
I did a tutorial of this too, it’s on the How To thread, post 100. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...carves-no-chatter.189943/page-7#post-33262736
(I’ve posted this so many times I have the post number memorized!)
Great tutorial! You make this knot so beautifully

Thank you so much! Hermes calls this lipstick pink, LOL

I like to eat octopus. I may have to leave it there.

Haha, happy to entertain you!

Thanks, fifi. I thought I followed your instructions for octopus. Maybe pull harder? Also sorry about the double knot! I always think of Cookie when I do it. Your versions look so fancy!

Yes. They are soooo much fun.

Thanks. The Cosmos just arrived in the mail today. @Croisette7 killed me last week with her Cosmoi (is that the plural? I have no Greek).
I thought the one I did today was the chou-chou. I am soooo confused!!! Can't find instructions since Aesthetic Alterations took down her blog.
Regarding the octopus, no need to pull harder. Just follow the instructions. And, my version looks fancy? Oooh la la! Allrighty now...

Off on a date night (outside!) with Danse, in Fifi’s cross cross in a triangle fold. Not sure I got it right, but I like it!

You look amazing! Perfect lipstick... Enjoy your dinner!

@Living.la.vida.fifi - I looked at my tutorial and I think what’s missing is the pleating I almost always do when I make the knot...

2) Pleating

Yup, I was missing the folds, but somehow yours looks more proportioned... My folded section hanging down looks too long... I must continue to practice. I want mine to look like yours! Gorgeous Offrandes, BTW

Aha! Wow! I learned this knot (or something very similar) from wishuponaknot on IG... She called it the Pierrot Knot... I will post her version tomorrow to compare. Such a cool little knot!

I’ve been wearing my Pani La Shar Pawnee on repeat. I didn’t think I’d use the bandanna side as much, but it goes with so many things! View attachment 5003461
Great outfit!

Second points UP !!!!! No more sad octopus. Thanks @Living.la.vida.fifi !

Oooh, looks fantastic! And, this is the perfect design for it!

This knot is a favorite - I learned about it on Instagram and the very kind Craielover showed me how - I get mixed up easily!

Pretty! Must try this one!

This is great! I did some practicing last night (pre-covid vax). I think I need a slightly larger ancre ring but I think this is a lovely festive look. I can see me wearing this to Commander's Palace for a holiday lunch if we can ever have holiday lunches in person again...I love this scarf so much but now am wishing I had it in a lighter cw for other seasons. Thanks for the tutorial. Loved it. Easy to follow and fun to play with.

Twins on this CW! I would love to have moma's special edition, but would have required Bond's submarine car to drive to Canada

I must confess, I wouldn’t have the confidence/panache to leave the house like that, and reverted to type mid morning with a “bias fold and tie” arrangement.
After lunch, everything changes because I remove my scarf. Too many lunches with curry, gravy or soup.

Delightful Cosmos!

Dumb question- is gavroche the 45? Not yet fluent in H-ese...
Not dumb at all - it is! A gavroche is 45cm x 45cm approximately.
Some call it a pochette. And H also makes odd sizes sometimes: 65cm pops up in the men's collex occasionally. And I have a mini 28cm size in one design. We have a theme week for small scarves coming up

These are the steps to make the Octopus Knot of my previous post.

First of all, you fold the scarf in half lengthwise to make a rectangle and place over your shoulders with all the points facing down and in front of you.

You will need a chain d’ancre scarf ring or buckle.

First step, you insert the two ends closest to your neck each through the openings of the scarf ring like so...

You then take the end to your right and insert through the scarf ring opening on the right pointing upwards
View attachment 5002513
View attachment 5002514

You do the same with the left side

View attachment 5002516

Pull these two corners you have inserted up and out. At this point, you can stop and fluff the sides and adjust the points and be done with the knot
View attachment 5002517

Or, you can also continue with these steps...
You can take the long points that you first inserted downwards through the scarf ring and insert through the openings of the scarf ring going upwards, like this...

And do the same with the other side

and, voila!

Fluff and arrange. You may reference my previous post that showed a few Octopus Knot examples. Some stopped at the 6th picture and some were made by continuing on
Oh my goodness I am so excited to try this! Thank you for sharing and your examples are swoon-worthy

Playing with knots while I’m supposed to be working. (Well, this is work!) Les Artisans: snail knot, novelty tie to get the samurai guy in view, octopus (“knot” pleased), and @Cookiefiend’s double knot (the winner, because it only took 3 seconds). Also Rose Inoui lipstick, very poorly named, as it is orange!
Sorry, everything is out of order and double. ARGH!
Also - I spared you my attempt at the "ondulation" knot. I should make a spoof video.
