So striking and elegant! Oh, how I love black and red!

I’ve always been in awe of people who can carry off the scarf in hair look, decided to give it a go, not sure I’d venture in public like this?

I actually love this look on you!

Sorry I missed the ‘favorite designer’ theme last week...It’s hard to pick one but my recent favorite has to be Alice Shirley. She has totally changed my view of animal prints (of which I’m not a big fan). Here’s me with my Mountain Zebra 90.

One of the best of Alice Shirley and so beautiful in this CW! Love the knots!

This is a wonderful design and looks amazing as a plisé

Playing with knots while I’m supposed to be working. (Well, this is work!) Les Artisans: snail knot, novelty tie to get the samurai guy in view, octopus (“knot” pleased), and @Cookiefiend’s double knot (the winner, because it only took 3 seconds). Also Rose Inoui lipstick, very poorly named, as it is orange!
Sorry, everything is out of order and double. ARGH!
Also - I spared you my attempt at the "ondulation" knot. I should make a spoof video.

Great scarf on you! Love the CW especially with that top! And that double knot is actually the Fifi Knot! LOL.... Your octopus looks droopy because you did it wrong... I posted instructions yesterday

Did you have a nice Friday, dear ladies? :hbeat:

I came home late because I worked overtime..
I was so impressed by your beautiful knots, and I wanted to try them immediately but I couldn't.. :crybaby:because it was too late.. I'm waiting for the weekend!

My Friday's SOTD is waterfall knot, with ITCW.

There's many tutorials of it, but I learned this knot from a tutorial posted by dear @scarflookbook on Instagram. I love her modern and creative knots a lot! As you know, it's a fancy knot that showcases the whole parts of scarf beautifully. If you want to find the tutorial, it's on Christina's IG account. She posted it on Aug. 12th, 2019!;)

I brought some pictures from achieve:

Hope you have beautiful weekend ahead!
Fabulous! Christina has some beautiful knots... Thank you for pointing us to the actual IG post as sometimes they are hard to locate. Every single example here is breathtaking!

There is a H scarf that actually has a picnic blanket as its design

It's a gorgeous knot. My only photo of an Octopus knot from the archive. I should use this knot more often. It looks much better than my normal loop-round-the-neck look.

 We could do a blooper reel from our attempts this week!
Great examples, and I love the Octopus with your beautiful Zabavushka... The knot came out perfect!

This knot is a favorite - I learned about it on Instagram and the very kind Craielover showed me how - I get mixed up easily!

It’s such a good one, and all of your examples are stunning. But, somehow mine never come out like yours. I love that waterfall effect that you always accomplish. If you have time and it’s not too much trouble, I would love a step-by-step of your method

This is great! I did some practicing last night (pre-covid vax). I think I need a slightly larger ancre ring but I think this is a lovely festive look. I can see me wearing this to Commander's Palace for a holiday lunch if we can ever have holiday lunches in person again...I love this scarf so much but now am wishing I had it in a lighter cw for other seasons. Thanks for the tutorial. Loved it. Easy to follow and fun to play with.

And in the simpler version:

I hope that you are feeling better! The knots came out great! Stunning silk, too

I am a big fan of scarves in hair! Twilly, gav, maxi twilly, 90 w the tails down low on one side hanging over A shoulder. I love those all. But I struggle with the hair wrap with the twist because I feel like it’s too much fabric bulge on me above my head :-/. But that’s just me! I hope you do it and can show us on here. There are Instagram profiles I follow called @thechicchanteuse who has her own signature hair wrap and @agirlapurseandascarf that also does some hair wraps if you want to check out for inspiration on how they rock the looks!
I tried the twist you are talking about yesterday and didn’t like it, but I think it was the wrong scarf...too much bulk. I am going to play with some scarfs with a thinner fabric for that one. I will check those profiles out. Thanks!

Thank you hon, I will try to get photos. If I can’t do it alone, I’ll enlist Mr Cookie!

A while back I tried a knot that dear @Cookiefiendchristened, The Fifi Knot... it is an easy and cute way to keep a scarf neatly secured and close to the face.
You basically fold the scarf into a rectangle and place around neck and shoulders as in the Octopus Knot. You then take the two points closer to the neck and tie into a knot. Then, you take the remaining two corners and tie into a knot right underneath the first knot. Then, you arrange and fluff out.
Here are some examples, even using one scarf ring for the top knot, and another time using two vintage Bakelite buckles

Beautiful!
I did a tutorial of this too, it’s on the How To thread, post 100. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...carves-no-chatter.189943/page-7#post-33262736
(I’ve posted this so many times I have the post number memorized!)

Cookie's knot is the best! ... and you look amazing in orange, dear ... incl. lipstick!
Thank you so much! Hermes calls this lipstick pink, LOL
Heeheehee - the Octopus Knot continues to thwart us - your expression made me giggle! :giggle:
The Double knot looks great - look at that hem!

Magical!
Your Le Jardin de la Maharani is especially beautiful tied this way!

Love it and that hem! :faint:
I like to eat octopus. I may have to leave it there.
Love the smirk in the second one and the pleased smile in the last.
The scarf, colors and your playfulness made me happy, thank you!
Haha, happy to entertain you!

Thanks, fifi. I thought I followed your instructions for octopus. Maybe pull harder? Also sorry about the double knot! I always think of Cookie when I do it. Your versions look so fancy!
Dumb question- is gavroche the 45? Not yet fluent in H-ese...
Yes. They are soooo much fun.
ooo your Cosmos turned out so adorable!

Its the chou-chou!

Thanks. The Cosmos just arrived in the mail today. @Croisette7 killed me last week with her Cosmoi (is that the plural? I have no Greek).
I thought the one I did today was the chou-chou. I am soooo confused!!! Can't find instructions since Aesthetic Alterations took down her blog.

A HA!!!!
Now I know what I've been doing wrong! The second set of tails go in pointing UP!
Folks - lemme tell you - going up with the bottom tails (instead of inserting them downward like the top set of tails) prevents the 'Super Sad Octopus' look... which I've had more times than I can count, accompanied but the Sad Tuba sound.
Imma tryin' this!
I had the exact same issue. Sad Octopus look! There seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel tho. Point those second tails UP.

@Living.la.vida.fifi - I looked at my tutorial and I think what’s missing is the pleating I almost always do when I make the knot...
