Space Derby is a favorite from 2021. One of those designs I had to have the moment I saw it. I love this colorway with the dark blue skies and the field of white stars. And, the ombre effect where the colors fade into each other is incredible.

Thank you for noting the ombre effect..these little details make a delightful piece even more special. I missed out on this one also.. sigh..but I am accepting (reluctantly) that I don’t have to have everything that I like, so long as you guys post them here! Love it with your pendant..is that turquoise?

With no disrespect to Alice Shirley or her fans, of which I am one, I feel she was over-represented in my collection so 2021 was a year of adjustment. I had several Mountain Zebras and ended up keeping only a bright yellow/orange (DH's favorite one!) I kept only the light pink Into the Canadian Wild and gifted my red hemmed one to DD. I had two Zebra Pegasus 90s plus a maxi twilly and ended up keeping (again) the brighter 90 and adding a new format, a soft blue giant triangle  I also was delighted to add Appaloosa des Steppes-- a design I originally shunned because of the eye. I thought I would absolutely have to have a DuJA in my collection, but am content with my Esprit de la Foret. I also adore my Three Graces Zoom gav. My Shirley collex feels done, though I would not say no to a ZP moussie if it insisted on following me home!

Thank you. This is my moonstone pendant with a carved face on it. The blue adularescence in this particular stone is quite amazing. One interesting thing about the ombré in this design is that it varies depending on the colorway, and which colors fade into which other colors.

Thank you so much! Always more inspiration/enablement from you dear Croisette!

Thank you so much dear Fifi and yes, I reach for it very often-- it is such a visual feast (plus that horse!).

It is a very beautiful one to have brought @labelo! Perfect sweater, too!

Thank you @Agrume-- and it is quite a reciprocal gesture as our interfaith community works together to ensure everyone can celebrate on their days!

This is a such a lovely cw @Agrume-- perfect for the season.

So so beautiful in white @Croisette7! I just acquired one with a red border from a charity that supports rescue dogs! So I am happy to be sisters and do a good deed also!

Thank you so much @Awillow! Yes, I loved the wheels being asymmetrical! A happy serendipity of folding...

Why thank you, Master Po!

Or, as Oscar Wilde said, "I can resist anything except temptation." Certainly applies to H!!!

 -- I may not have shared the story. A dear older friend has several Noels and she "loans" me this one because she is just not ready to officially let the adoption go forward. It has lived in my house for years, though! I yearn for the black one that @momasaurus has but this blue is right in my wheelhouse (and the blue and white scene works for Hannukah too!)

Yes, thank you @Awillow. It is a good collecting rubric that I depart from as needed but it helps! This year I am focusing on completing Pierre Marie and adding some Virginie Jamin colors and designs to the three I own. Rybalchenko is also on the list plus two Holy Grails and three Petite Grails. Plus the new seasons and lucky finds and the ones I fall in love with from this thread etc etc...You see the futility of plans already...

This is beautiful on you @Awillow! No flaw at all is noticeable and in any case, totally worth it!

Wow. I am your twin but haven't worked up to wearing it yet (:confused1: )-- now I am planning to right away! It is fabulous on you @Redbirdhermes-- also don't know why my response to your stunning Scotland got dropped but that was amazing also.
Thanks for the kind words! You are an excellent scarf mom with lovely ties and regular outings, so I hope the foster arrangement becomes permanent! And I am looking for three grails this year. I didn't buy any from the last two seasons, but maybe this season.

I love Alice Shirley too. This is my favorite appaloosa! Confrats! And I do love that triangle - that is on my radar.

Love your Alice Shirley collection and thank you for explaining how it evolved. Like you, I think English garden will continue to be missing from my collection. But, I could definitely see you wearing an Under the Waves, at the right price point, of course. :smartass:

I brought only one scarf on our holiday trip, and it's been too warm to wear it most days, but here's Patchwork Horse!
This is simply stunning! One of the most beautiful CWs of the design that I’ve seen… Proof once again that it ties like a dream

SOYD was Zabavushka in its red/pink cw, one of my favourite acquisitions of 2021. I bought quite a lot of scarves and sold some, too, sometimes following @LKBNOLA's CCP. Wish you some quiet days between the old and the new year!

Oh, you are so lucky to add this one to your collex! Is this your first Zaba? It is such a fabulous design and I love this CW

Such a delightful winter silk! Dreamy CW and just love that jacquard

One of the grails I tracked down this year after sitting on the fence way too long. A major undisclosed flaw and a no return policy, but at least I didn't break the bank for it and samourais is so busy, it is easily disguised. I love it nonetheless.View attachment 5281920
Oh you are so lucky to have found a Samourais at this stage as it has become nearly impossible. I do not own this CW but so admire it! It looks fantastic on you! May I ask what was the flaw and whether it can be easily hidden?

Love them all, but especially the Appaloosa… I also stayed away at first because of the eye but one try at the store convinced me it was a non issue as it can be easily hidden. Your CW is glorious and that is the best knot for it! I think I’ve also pretty much kissed DuJA goodbye… I still kick myself for passing up an amazing CW at the store. What was ai thinking?! I still gaze at the mod shot I took of it with regret

Thanks, fifi. This one will be perfect for wabi sabi. There is a mark from a wide, dark brown (almost sienna) marker (reminds me of markers you use to color landscape plans and architectural renderings) in a corner. It is curving and *almost* looks like it could be part of the design. Conveniently left out of the seller's listing the way it was draped - showing all but the top couple of inches. It does not wash out.

Even if you see it, it doesn't stick out horribly because although it is not a color in the scarf, it is not horribly clashing in color, and the curve echoes the design. Would love to know how that happened. Must have been an "oh no" (PG language for an r rated) moment.

I had passed four times on perfect ones, three less expensive than this. I tried (unsuccessfully obviously) to convince myself that three colorways were enough and I didn't need this one. Resistance is futile.

Today I begin with Space Derby… an amazing silk from the Spring/Summer 2021 collection. With its futuristic design, bright colors and innovative rainbow hem, it is a very unique design

Another fabulous design from the Spring/Summer 2021 collection is the classic Promenades de Paris which was reinvented in the 70 format. As with Space Derby, that decorated hem stole my heart as did the gorgeous colors.

As I noted in the Intro, for me 2021 had been The Year of New Formats. A new style that I tried and fell in love with was the muffler. I found it easy to tie and very wearable. I am delighted with the L’Epopee d’Hermes from the Fall/Winter 21 collection in this format
D365D80D-741C-4FF8-8C01-2B37E7999EDF.jpeg

I also added some older silks to my collection that had been on my wishlist for a long while. One of these is Cavaliers Peuls
DD1B6E06-E918-453D-B122-28E274C6D15D.jpeg

Another older design is Kermit Oliver’s Chefs Indiens. This is a rare design and I was lucky to find one BNWT.
70419038-183B-48CB-99EC-42119A0BA588.jpeg

I adore Kermit Oliver and was also lucky to add this amazing Kachinas in the giant silk format.

Finally scoring this Le Monde est Vaste moussie was a comedy of errors since the seller cancelled the sale back in March of 2020 because he couldn’t ship from Japan due to the pandemic. When I inquired about it a year later, he still had it and the rest is history. I own this marvelous design as a 90 but always coveted it in this format.

Oh noooo! But, I guess that it’s on a spot that most certainly can be hidden… But also very disappointing… But, since resistance is futile with Samourais, I would’ve kept it as well
