SOYD was Zabavushka in its red/pink cw, one of my favourite acquisitions of 2021. I bought quite a lot of scarves and sold some, too, sometimes following @LKBNOLA's CCP. Wish you some quiet days between the old and the new year!

So beautiful! These colours are gorgeous on you! - Thank you also for your nice comments!

Thank you so much! Always more inspiration/enablement from you dear Croisette!

Thank you so much dear Fifi and yes, I reach for it very often-- it is such a visual feast (plus that horse!).

It is a very beautiful one to have brought @labelo! Perfect sweater, too!

Thank you @Agrume-- and it is quite a reciprocal gesture as our interfaith community works together to ensure everyone can celebrate on their days!

This is a such a lovely cw @Agrume-- perfect for the season.

So so beautiful in white @Croisette7! I just acquired one with a red border from a charity that supports rescue dogs! So I am happy to be sisters and do a good deed also!

Thank you so much @Awillow! Yes, I loved the wheels being asymmetrical! A happy serendipity of folding...

Why thank you, Master Po!

Or, as Oscar Wilde said, "I can resist anything except temptation." Certainly applies to H!!!

 -- I may not have shared the story. A dear older friend has several Noels and she "loans" me this one because she is just not ready to officially let the adoption go forward. It has lived in my house for years, though! I yearn for the black one that @momasaurus has but this blue is right in my wheelhouse (and the blue and white scene works for Hannukah too!)

Yes, thank you @Awillow. It is a good collecting rubric that I depart from as needed but it helps! This year I am focusing on completing Pierre Marie and adding some Virginie Jamin colors and designs to the three I own. Rybalchenko is also on the list plus two Holy Grails and three Petite Grails. Plus the new seasons and lucky finds and the ones I fall in love with from this thread etc etc...You see the futility of plans already...

This is beautiful on you @Awillow! No flaw at all is noticeable and in any case, totally worth it!

Wow. I am your twin but haven't worked up to wearing it yet (:confused1: )-- now I am planning to right away! It is fabulous on you @Redbirdhermes-- also don't know why my response to your stunning Scotland got dropped but that was amazing also.
So happy for you, a lucky find with the red border.

With no disrespect to Alice Shirley or her fans, of which I am one, I feel she was over-represented in my collection so 2021 was a year of adjustment. I had several Mountain Zebras and ended up keeping only a bright yellow/orange (DH's favorite one!) I kept only the light pink Into the Canadian Wild and gifted my red hemmed one to DD. I had two Zebra Pegasus 90s plus a maxi twilly and ended up keeping (again) the brighter 90 and adding a new format, a soft blue giant triangle  I also was delighted to add Appaloosa des Steppes-- a design I originally shunned because of the eye. I thought I would absolutely have to have a DuJA in my collection, but am content with my Esprit de la Foret. I also adore my Three Graces Zoom gav. My Shirley collex feels done, though I would not say no to a ZP moussie if it insisted on following me home!
Here are a few mod shots:

All fabulous, LKBNOLA and nice tied!

This is simply stunning! One of the most beautiful CWs of the design that I’ve seen… Proof once again that it ties like a dream

Oh, you are so lucky to add this one to your collex! Is this your first Zaba? It is such a fabulous design and I love this CW

Such a delightful winter silk! Dreamy CW and just love that jacquard

Oh you are so lucky to have found a Samourais at this stage as it has become nearly impossible. I do not own this CW but so admire it! It looks fantastic on you! May I ask what was the flaw and whether it can be easily hidden?

My jaw dropped… Breathtaking! This CW is truly a masterpiece and looks amazing on you

Love them all, but especially the Appaloosa… I also stayed away at first because of the eye but one try at the store convinced me it was a non issue as it can be easily hidden. Your CW is glorious and that is the best knot for it! I think I’ve also pretty much kissed DuJA goodbye… I still kick myself for passing up an amazing CW at the store. What was ai thinking?! I still gaze at the mod shot I took of it with regret

This is amazing! You wear it so well! I have one pareo that I haven’t worn yet but must try!
Thank you, fifi!

I need a Plumes et grelots after seeing your spectacular collection. Those blue plumes in the corner! And I adore your broche and where you placed it.
Yes Maedi, you need one immediately ... and thank you!

Such a lovely CW, my dear Croisette! And the small brooch is just adorable, too!
Thank you, my dear friend!

I PM you!

Thanks, hotgalaxy! I love your avatar! I like the square Clair de Lune. Even more so after the post from @Redbirdhermes during her ghost riders week.
Thankyou, I wanted to post this one on the Red/Green week, unfortunately 110 degree days are not conducive to scarf wearing. This scarf was love at first sight for me. I will post more photos of this beauty in the future. Meanwhile enjoy your scarf wearing weather!! Stay safe and happy holidays! We are heading to a friends beach house for a few days, so we will be slightly cooler!!

Good evening Scarflandia!!!!

Dropping in real quick with a 2022 (!!!) preview for y'all!

Team Scarf Mistress is putting the final touches and clean up on the upcoming calendar and I will be posting the impending 2022 thread soon!

But, for now, here's a little sneak peek at the beginning of January theme so you have some time to plan. Once I've crafted my (generally, not so) eloquent opening, I'll hash out more about the over-all theme for 2022 which, as always, we try to optimize for maximum ease of participation. :D  More later....

So enjoy this topic preview and buckle your seatbelts for this upcoming weekend.

:dothewave:

Itsy Bitsy 2022 Preview:

02 Jan 2022 Get the Party Started: Let’s celebrate with our happiest scarves!

And then??????? ........

I always love to see this delightful design! This is such a wonderful wintery CW and I love it paired with your Christmas pin!

For a moment I thought it was the blue CW of Jardin de la Maharani… It is so fabulous! You must reach for it often because it ties beautifully and is so easy to wear! Love this knot

You did exceptionally well with your Bajtliks! These are all exceptional, but my fav must be the second, bright Animapolis. The Epopees are amazing as well and a reminder that I must find one of the 70s to add to my collection. Such a great design! And, we must see those CSGMs!

Oh so special, especially for you! One that is not too easy to find… Love it with the green sweater and the pearl drop is exquisite
Thank you @Living.la.vida.fifi ! That is the one that will likely kick off Happy Scarves Week!
OH NO!!!! Horrors! Thank goodness you were thrown a lifeline.
For real!
I know! I couldn’t imagine being on here without @Snausages.
Back atcha :winkiss:
Redbirdhermes That badger sporan is way to die for! What a wonderful scarf and ode to Scotland. Great colors on you too!
I agree with @EtsyBoss - the little details are sometimes the best parts of a beloved design! And it’s a delight when those previously unseen details are brought to light - thank you @Redbirdhermes for showing that badger!

I brought only one scarf on our holiday trip, and it's been too warm to wear it most days, but here's Patchwork Horse!
This ties so beautifully!
Dear Croisette, Sammy, LKBNOLA and Fifi, thank you kindly! :hugs:

Those gavroches are lovely, Sammy!

Great look, John!

Very festive, Nomad!

Great in the large format, Xincinsin!

And it is a beautiful Christmas outfit, Nahreen!

Great scarves in festive colours, Croisette, and thank you!

What a lively cw, perfect for this season!

What a lovely look, Laurenad!

Perfect before your Christmas tree, Moma!

So right, gorgeous, Karenska!

Fabulous!

Another beautiful Christmas scarf!

You look very festive, and a wonderful scarf for Christmas it is, Awillow!

2 great looks (and love your CdC), LKBNOLA, and what a beautiful gesture!

Thank you for hosting the last week on top of the 2 last ones, Fifi! A firework of scarves, dazzling!

You picked beautiful Baitliks, Snausages!

A great cw, Labelo, and what a nice pullover!
TY @Agrume ! Kluska is a favorite part of his designs and I’ve been a bit bitter that Voitures doesn’t have the pooch but I’m slowly coming around to appreciating that design a bit more. Dangerously more…

Wonderful, snausages! We are twins on animapolis and the red/blue sweet dreams. You are making me wish we were twins on the blue sweet dreams as well!
As always @Croisette7 your collection makes me want, like, all the scarves!
One of the grails I tracked down this year after sitting on the fence way too long. A major undisclosed flaw and a no return policy, but at least I didn't break the bank for it and samourais is so busy, it is easily disguised. I love it nonetheless.View attachment 5281920
It’s lovely @Awillow and I’m sure the Wabi Sabi is visible only to you. The colors make me smile!
Space Derby is a favorite from 2021. One of those designs I had to have the moment I saw it. I love this colorway with the dark blue skies and the field of white stars. And, the ombre effect where the colors fade into each other is incredible.

So beautiful @Redbirdhermes and the red backdrop is fantastic.

Twinning on the Appaloosa! And your zebras are delightful
Pareo for a desert camping tripView attachment 5281990
Oh dear, another amazing pareo that makes my credit card vibrate. Between you and Bunnycat I am developing an obsession. The colors are wonderful - if you get a moment I’d love to see it flat
Today I begin with Space Derby… an amazing silk from the Spring/Summer 2021 collection. With its futuristic design, bright colors and innovative rainbow hem, it is a very unique design
View attachment 5282136

Another fabulous design from the Spring/Summer 2021 collection is the classic Promenades de Paris which was reinvented in the 70 format. As with Space Derby, that decorated hem stole my heart as did the gorgeous colors.

As I noted in the Intro, for me 2021 had been The Year of New Formats. A new style that I tried and fell in love with was the muffler. I found it easy to tie and very wearable. I am delighted with the L’Epopee d’Hermes from the Fall/Winter 21 collection in this format
View attachment 5282138

I also added some older silks to my collection that had been on my wishlist for a long while. One of these is Cavaliers Peuls
View attachment 5282139

Another older design is Kermit Oliver’s Chefs Indiens. This is a rare design and I was lucky to find one BNWT.
View attachment 5282142

I adore Kermit Oliver and was also lucky to add this amazing Kachinas in the giant silk format.

Finally scoring this Le Monde est Vaste moussie was a comedy of errors since the seller cancelled the sale back in March of 2020 because he couldn’t ship from Japan due to the pandemic. When I inquired about it a year later, he still had it and the rest is history. I own this marvelous design as a 90 but always coveted it in this format.

There is nothing you can’t wear and make me think ‘I should hunt for that’
Hello dear scarfies, Happy New Year! I've been laying low lately but do stop by regularly to admire the wonderful parade of beauties here. My fave acquisition of 2021 is Index Palmarum CSGM. I just love a good neutral!

View attachment 5282242
Beautiful neutral! I’m a fan of navy!

If Jan Bajtlik pulled me off Ban Island, Alice Shirley prevented my return.

I have spent the year boosting the presence of Alice Shirley in Ye Olde Scarf Drawer. Still a ways to go, as I am not opposed to multiple colorways of the same design.

You did go to town! Fantastic finds and choices!

Most of my purchases this year were from the resale market, and mainly of the alternate cw variety. These, however, were designs which I didn't have: Cavalcadour Clair de Lune and a Folklore twilly. My fave purchases this year, which were delivered in the same month. The twilly almost went MIA, as Vestaire refused to accept my address, and I refused to move to a new place just so they could send me a twilly
PicsArt_07-01-02.04.44.jpg
My rule for twillies, rarely broken, is to buy designs which are unique, not available in other formats, or designs which were adjusted to fit the confines of the twilly format. I broke my rule for this twilly because I really like @Karenska's Kuna twilly and I wanted a bright and happy twilly too.
