My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

For this last day of Oscarf week I called on my rusty spreadsheet sorting skills, and determined that artist whose scarves I wore the most during 2020. I was not surprised to see Annie Faivre and Phillippe Ledoux in double figures. However, the winner undoubtedly reflects an effort I made late in the year to collect more of her earlier issues. I find her use of color and design most pleasing.

The Award for the Most Frequently Worn Artist goes to Alice Shirley. Representing her scarves in accepting the Oscarf is my recently acquired Tyger, Tyger.

Truly worthy of an Oscarf!
Last post of 2020.
reflecting over 2020, I only bought 8 scarves this year, which is a lowest number for me.
I bought the patchwork horse CSGM in the boutique in January, but all other purchases this year were made on line since I have not stepped foot in any store since midMarch.
this years additions included:
1. 2 scarves from Ss2020 CSGM patchwork horse and les artisans 90
2. 2 scarves from FW2020 : Exposition Universelle 90 and les promenades de paris 70
3. moussie Losange from h.com (2019 design)
4. 3 scarves from resellers: la legende des poisson corail 90, j’aime mon carre 70 and Aloha PM mousseline.
these had all been on my wishlist for some time.

I did make an effort to wear my scarves often even though just hanging out at home. I did find myself reaching for 90 twill and 70 s more during this pandemic than in past years. I also wore my 2 cotton scarves a lot. i did wear my moussies less this year, but hope by this summer I will feel comfortable going out more often and they will get worn again.

I think I have already featured most of this years purchases, so I will end with the last few I don’t think I have shown yet.

Lastly, while last year was a dumpster fire, 2021 will let us put that mess behind us. Like the Mythiques Phoenix, we will pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off, and set off into a new year... and a new thread!
Cheers darlings!

Wonderful! Love Aloha especially! Heaven!

Before this thread closes, I would like to thank everyone for making this year much more bearable.

I surprised myself this year by going boldly where I have never gone before :alien: In honour of nerdiness and possible foolhardiness, my Star Trek Enterprise award goes to a class of scarf which I've never dared or wanted to buy before: the ones with tons of blank space
Baby steps first with Carreve.

And then plunge in with the Year 2000 design

See you all on the new thread!

Wow Sammy, this is spectacular ... never seen before ...and perfect with your pants!
Thank you very much, dear Croisette! :flowers: My store did not order this. I asked for it especially. It was posted in the SS 2020 thread ❤️ and went to my wishlist immediately.
Sammy fabulous looks! What design are you using as a belt?:flowers:
Thank you, dear Julide! Well spotted! It is Aux Pays des Epices.

Winner of the Oscarfsring is definitely the LMH in swift, GM! ❤ Whatever did I do without it...? It is a good one also for the exceptional scarfs, because these are a bit more difficult to tie and the scarfring is light and soft. Wore this yesterday:

Best New Format - Giant Triangle and GTCS. Now I acquired my first GT in Nov 2019, Kachinas in fuscia, lemon yellow, navy and periwinkle: :hbeat:
View attachment 4943515
but significantly upped the ante by purchasing three more in 2020: Kachinas in spectacular summer colors :faint:, mini BdG in vermillion and marine bleu , and the surprisingly now-esssential Encadre GTCS in chocolat and blanc with rosy hem :hbeat:.

Someday maybe I’ll add Encadre in corail, naturel with the stunning cobalt hem:

I am also loving this format... As you know, I purchased the first GT to gift my DD in your CW a year and a half ago and added your second to my collex this year... Such a wearable format! I love your other additions as well... They all look so chic and effortless

Happy New Year to my scarfie friends!

During 2020 I collected a number of scarves in new condition and some have not yet been worn. One of my New Year's resolutions is to actually wear these beauties and not just store them. I'm starting out 2021 by introducing what I think is the happiest of my new scarves.

The Oscarf for the Happiest New scarf goes to L'arbre du Vent.

It most certainly is a happy design, and also so full of meaning and folklore! This is a gorgeous CW
