My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Before I head off on a mad search for my La Comedie, I’ll post my winner for today.
Today’s Oscarf is one that Gobsmacked me.
There I was innocently scrolling through EvilBay, eating a few cookies - when BAM.
I picked myself up from the floor, looked again, and marched my fingers to H.com - where I had read some of last season’s scarves had shown up again...
And there it was, pristine and in all its glory. I have never hit Buy so fast, I think I may have given my CC a rug burn I whipped it out so fast.

Here’s my SOTD though - feeling colorful today in ELenK ❤

Glorious! One of your top 10, IMO... And, looks so different depending on the knot! And, ELeK is always a good idea

This year I purchased several cashmere silks in various green shades. Finding the right top for each has been a real stumper for me......
These are the contenders for my Oscarf category of “My Most challenging Green Scarf”
Stay tuned for the winner!
(Did I mention I love green!?!)

You own the green Samourais CSGM?! Gaaaah! That Sieste is also magnificent! I need to see these modeled

My green contenders again.....
Appaloosa des Steppes CSGM - I paired this green with my ivory polka dotted dress one morning while rushing out the door. Luckily it worked!

Parures de Samouraïs - A light grey sweater pulls out the soft greys in the colorway.

Le Jardin de la Maharani - This was perfect with a fuchsia sweater. I love this Juane Anis/Vert combination.

Au Pays des Oiseaux Fleurs - My dark charcoal turtleneck worked better than black with this.
View attachment 4944053

Sieste au Paradis - I was lucky to own a sweater that matched the contrast hem and it really worked well.

Drum Roll.....the WINNER is H en Voyage
I picked this colorway because it paired so well with my Madame Cuir gavoche which is tucked around my neck underneath.

What a parade of stunners! I honestly can’t pick which one I prefer on you... it’s also been an amazing CSGM year for you

For the last day of Oscarf week, my first purchase in 2020, and my most worn scarf of the year.
I think this design is extraordinary! ❤
Oscarf of the Year goes to Plumes en Fete.

Lastly, while last year was a dumpster fire, 2021 will let us put that mess behind us. Like the Mythiques Phoenix, we will pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off, and set off into a new year... and a new thread!
Cheers darlings!

Fabulous! That yellow Plumes was made for you

For this last day of Oscarf week I called on my rusty spreadsheet sorting skills, and determined that artist whose scarves I wore the most during 2020. I was not surprised to see Annie Faivre and Phillippe Ledoux in double figures. However, the winner undoubtedly reflects an effort I made late in the year to collect more of her earlier issues. I find her use of color and design most pleasing.

The Award for the Most Frequently Worn Artist goes to Alice Shirley. Representing her scarves in accepting the Oscarf is my recently acquired Tyger, Tyger.

I am not surprised as Annie Faivre designs are so striking, colorful and harmonious... Your Tyger is breathtaking! Such a great springtime scarf

Last post of 2020.
reflecting over 2020, I only bought 8 scarves this year, which is a lowest number for me.
I bought the patchwork horse CSGM in the boutique in January, but all other purchases this year were made on line since I have not stepped foot in any store since midMarch.
this years additions included:
1. 2 scarves from Ss2020 CSGM patchwork horse and les artisans 90
2. 2 scarves from FW2020 : Exposition Universelle 90 and les promenades de paris 70
3. moussie Losange from h.com (2019 design)
4. 3 scarves from resellers: la legende des poisson corail 90, j’aime mon carre 70 and Aloha PM mousseline.
these had all been on my wishlist for some time.

I did make an effort to wear my scarves often even though just hanging out at home. I did find myself reaching for 90 twill and 70 s more during this pandemic than in past years. I also wore my 2 cotton scarves a lot. i did wear my moussies less this year, but hope by this summer I will feel comfortable going out more often and they will get worn again.

I think I have already featured most of this years purchases, so I will end with the last few I don’t think I have shown yet.
Aloha moussie PM

So glad you were able to fulfill items on your wishlist along with new designs... the Aloha moussie is sublime

My last Oscarf in the Unexpected Something Different category goes to the silk fringed stole „Echarpe Palette“ (SS 2020). It’s best wearing it without any loops and knots, just thrown over a simple summer dress (sorry, did not take pics then...):

What an amazing silk! Truly showstopping. I love all the different looks... I have been soooo curious about this format and am so thankful for your wonderful pics... So it at the store, but ran in and forgot to try it on

Before this thread closes, I would like to thank everyone for making this year much more bearable.

I surprised myself this year by going boldly where I have never gone before :alien: In honour of nerdiness and possible foolhardiness, my Star Trek Enterprise award goes to a class of scarf which I've never dared or wanted to buy before: the ones with tons of blank space

See you all on the new thread!
Thank you for a wonderful year! As always, you are amazing

For my last post of 2020, here are the rest of my 2020 additions. All were on my wishlist and many were long-time Grails. I am delighted with each one...
Because I own Promenade a Versailles, I never purchased this CW of Flanerie a Versailles... since it resembles Promenade... but I always loved the CW and was so lucky to find it

That’s all folks! This completes my scarf purchases for 2020. Where the year was a difficult one, it was a great one as far as scarves were concerned. Undoubtedly, one of the best things about 2020 was spending time on SOTD and all because of every single one of you here. Thank you so much for your presence...
Looking forward to a 2021 full of blessings and of silken dreams come true!
