My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

I have had two bad experiences with TRR. In the most recent, I purchased a Cosmos from them that turned out to be fake. In a phone call, I explained to the service associate it was fake. When I returned it, I wrote a note explaining the ways you could tell it was fake. They relisted it. Now I am leery of purchasing from them.

Your Giverny is a beautiful colorway. Congrats on locating something you looked long and hard for.
I appreciate hearing these experiences as I haven’t purchased from there yet... the photos seem too hard to see details to authenticate :-s

I just reviewed this year’s haul (:coolio:) and I not only added several scarves to my collection, but also several formats:
Gavroches (6)
CSGMs (2)
GTCS (1)
140 Silk Plume (1), and
Bandanas (2).
I also increased my 70s by 5, the first of which is Tigre Royal Fleuri, purchased on Jan 29 on Broad St H in NYC, and the last of which is today, Les Bassetts. I’m sorry to say I don’t know if LB is going to work out.
I also acquired another Maxi-Twilly Cut, two twillies, two plisses, two GTs, and several 90s. The awards for me will be expressed over the next couple of days. Meanwhile, here is scarf mail, Les Bassetts. View attachment 4940850View attachment 4940849View attachment 4940851
Looking forward to seeing your winners! That striped hem is dreamy...
(did I already reply on this? I’m getting all turned around trying to see everyone’s posts & I know I’m missing some.) :panic:

Hello, dear Scarfies ♡

Yesterday I wear my first Carrè 70, Promenade de Paris.

I matched this scarf with yellow sweater, my DH said that I look like an egg yolk... OMG

It was SOTD of another day.
(I think I should buy a Gris colored pullover.. haha  )

First time, I was concerned that this scarf would be limited to make various knots and underutilized because it's smaller than ordinary Carrè 90. But I was worried for nothing! Actually, It's easier to make casual knots than Carrè 90, I think. I especially love this lively yellow-striped hem ♡

Wish you have a wonderful Wednesday! The place where I live has gotten very cold and now the temperature is below -10 degrees Celsius. Take care of your health, dear Scarfies ♡
lovely, Yoon! Mr Agrume could have said the same...

Oh I love your lovely knot! And Versailles Carrè is so gorgeous♡ Thanks for trying dear Agrume!
thank you, Yoon!:flowers:

Hello twin ... so chic tied!
thank you - happy to be your twin, Croisette!:hugs:

beautiful, Croisette, especially with your wintery top!

Agrume, this is a stunner. Love it.
thank you so much, Awillow! I was not sure about the scarf flat.

Gorgeous color on you, and I think you've done a fab job on the knot!
thank you, Cookie (and also feel the need of Liberty pyjamas...)

I really enjoy reading all your 2020 scarf journey. I hope to write mine before this week’s end. Meanwhile, here is my Gavroche of the day, Au pays des Oiseaux Fleurs, the first scarf I bought for myself 4 years ago.

great contrast with your pullover, QueenieQ, and twins!

We should bulkbuy Liberty jammies
And totally off-topic but I wish to share my sorrow here: the very old and venerable department store where I bought my first Liberty scarf decades ago closed down a couple of months ago :crybaby: - it didn't survive the Covid-caused loss of business.

And to return to topic, this took the award for Most Unexpected Obsession 2020: the Hermes x Liberty scarves. I started the year with one, and now have around 6.

lovely, Xincinsin!

Today’s award is brought to you by the color pink - I love pink (except for the dreaded pepto-bismol shade ) and find it a very flatteringly color for almost everyone. I’ve hosted the Pink Week in October, and never manage to show them all - because there is often a small hint of pink in many of my scarves.
This year I brought in 4 new pinks: Tigre Royal Fleuri, Ex Libris Parisiennes, Jardins de Soie, and L’Ivresse de L’infini.

Always admire your knots, cookie, they look so effortless. And pink suits you really well!

I organized the photos of my new 2020 scarves (I am missing one, and C’est la Fête is shown twice, one photo for each side). I am afraid I am too lazy to actually pull them out of the drawers...

Thank you so much! I truly do love pink!
Pink + cookie = chef’s kiss. You look
Amazing. Fantastic mash up of jardin and amoureux
<mwah!!> Thank you!
You look fabulous pink lady ... esp. the TR Fleuri is so artfully tied.
Thank you so much Croisette! :hugs:

This Ivresse is fantastic !

This summer's Lighter than Air week inspired me to hunt down a few mousseline scarves for myself. I was fortunate to acquire seven for my collection, including two Tapis Persans. I purchased a red version first, and got the anthracite version after reading how it was a great neutral scarf. I was confused at first as to how a scarf with turquoise, yellow, and orange as well as gray could be considered a neutral, but this became my most worn scarf in 2020 for a reason. When in doubt it worked most of the time.

The Oscarf for the Most Worn Scarf of the Year goes to Tapis Persans mousseline CW01 in Anthracite/Jaune/Aqua.

Anna - you are my (s)hero. I bet your tags don't look like this! 1230201417.jpg
I guess on the upside, I know where they are...

I was not as active as I wished in this thread..

However I wanted to take some times to thank you all for the wonderfull moments « spent together » in this thread.

The year was not easy ...
But coming here, seeing all your beautiful treasures and your smile, getting your appreciation, your nice comments and sometimes your enabling was very pleasant to me.
It brought me lots of joy and happiness.

Thanks to you all wonderfull people with exquisite taste! ❤️

Off topic: this doesn't win any award except for New Format Virgin
My very first outing with my very first Maxi Twilly - Guepards.
As you can see, I really like this shade of red :P

Another dedicated searcher!

Parme/Rouge/Bleu! Here's the old h.com image from 2014 I dug up as a reference when trying to confirm authenticity. I think it will be perfect with jeans.

I really like that blue/green cw that's online now! I think the Kawa Ora reads a little more light blue, and the black accents jump out at me more.
Green's a favorite of mine; the 2014 olive green cw of Patchwork Horse is currently on TRR and calling my name, but I'd already pulled the trigger on this one. I hope we see some rich greens next year!

I can't wait to see it!

Oh goodness! You have been busy! And you have the red Panthera Pardus that I love so much! And is that long blue one one of those leather ended maxi twillies? Would love to see a mod shot!
