My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

We should bulkbuy Liberty jammies
And totally off-topic but I wish to share my sorrow here: the very old and venerable department store where I bought my first Liberty scarf decades ago closed down a couple of months ago :crybaby: - it didn't survive the Covid-caused loss of business.

And to return to topic, this took the award for Most Unexpected Obsession 2020: the Hermes x Liberty scarves. I started the year with one, and now have around 6.

Love love love! The Tatum one is my fav’ but they are all great.

What treasures! Congrats labelo I love your knots, so fresh. Random what cw of patchwork ? For the better part of a year I have gone back and forth with myself on the green blue cw that @scarf1 owns or the Kawa Ora in the same color family. Maybe I’ll decide in 2021 haha
Parme/Rouge/Bleu! Here's the old h.com image from 2014 I dug up as a reference when trying to confirm authenticity. I think it will be perfect with jeans.

I really like that blue/green cw that's online now! I think the Kawa Ora reads a little more light blue, and the black accents jump out at me more.
Green's a favorite of mine; the 2014 olive green cw of Patchwork Horse is currently on TRR and calling my name, but I'd already pulled the trigger on this one. I hope we see some rich greens next year!

Sounds like something I would own, let me ask - do you find gavs useful? I’ve never owned one but I do love my 70s!
I used to be only 90s when I first started. @bunnycat enabled me into buying gavs. Do I find gavs useful? Interesting question!
a) practical: I live in the tropics, so actually gavs are a good format as they are less warm because less cloth (depending on how you wear them of course)
b) pacifier: some designs are available in both 90 and gav, and I might not like the design enough to buy a 90 or I haven't found a 90 cw I like, but I think it's cute as a gav and it satisfies the craving for the design (Magic Kelly - I never did buy a 90 in the end)
c) price: gavs are cheaper - this really counts in seasons when I want too many designs and it stretches my budget
d) Versatility: I wear my gavs in pairs and like to mix and match
e) Men's collex: some of my fave gavs are the men's pocket squares

We could do a decision tree for this, but I have to admit that most of my gav purchases are visceral. OMG penguins! Buy! OMG dinosaurs! Buy! (I have no idea what the sweet male SAs at the men's dept think of me, but I hope they find me amusing :P )

That Dumas is a special scarf, for sure. and looking forward to,seeing your Les Boxes. Congratulations on your new treasures. You do an exquisite job of picking scarves that look lovely on you.
I *just* missed out on the blue Dumas at a killer price while debating whether I should get another blue scarf, and now I'm obsessed with finding one. It looks like it will tie perfectly for showing off corners since all the horses are facing the "correct" direction.
I'm a little nervous about the Les Boxes. It's a sort of minty green, and I'm not sure whether it will suit me, but I kept going back and looking at it for weeks and decided I had to try it. If it's a miss I'll try to rehome and look for the light blue cw that's much more common and that I know will work for me, even if it's a color that I already have lots of in my collection. I love Clerc's style, it reminded me of a slightly more refined version of the illustrations in the Madeline books that I loved as a child.

This is so pretty, great choice! I think I’ll eventually succumb to the green cw as I love the hints of purple into too. My struggle is that I own the pink/mauve Kawa Ora and it ties exceptionally well. One of my most worn shawls. Gah here I go down the rabbit hole haha. Congrats again and can’t wait to see the knots on it.

We did a theme that included collabs in March. Have fun adding to the wishlist :graucho:

I love the Liberty prints, have some blouses from London. Our dear orchard is a true fan too.

Hello, dear Scarfies ♡

Yesterday I wear my first Carrè 70, Promenade de Paris.

I matched this scarf with yellow sweater, my DH said that I look like an egg yolk... OMG

It was SOTD of another day.
(I think I should buy a Gris colored pullover.. haha  )

First time, I was concerned that this scarf would be limited to make various knots and underutilized because it's smaller than ordinary Carrè 90. But I was worried for nothing! Actually, It's easier to make casual knots than Carrè 90, I think. I especially love this lively yellow-striped hem ♡

Wish you have a wonderful Wednesday! The place where I live has gotten very cold and now the temperature is below -10 degrees Celsius. Take care of your health, dear Scarfies ♡
The second pairing definitely allows that marvelous hem to be the star :coolio:
