My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Hmm, a fun theme! I'll try to keep things to just three categories, all with archive pics as I'm away from my collection at the moment.

Most Worn: Carre Kantha CSGM
I am thrilled at how often I pull out my new-to-me Carre Kantha CSGM. It's been perfect for cool weather and goes well with most of my winter wardrobe.
Carre Kantha 3.jpg

Most Inspiring: Plumes en Fete 90
This is the scarf that started it all, my 30th birihday scarf and the one that started me down the slippery orange slope.
Plumes en Fete 08 purple.jpg

Most Exciting Find: Into the Canadian Wild 90
I'd had my eye on this one since starting my collection, so I jumped on it when I found it gently preloved at retail price. It's been a joy figuring out how to tie it different ways to highlight all the different wildlife.

Now the question is what will 2021 bring us silk lovers? My tansu is so full I must edit before buying anything else. Reflecting on this past year I sought out vintage and also Landed some very Special Edition silks too, and I enjoyed contributing to some worthy causes. So here are my “nominees” as they are all winners in my world
Best Shawl- that I wear the most this year ( My bd gift at start of Pandemic)

Swoon ... your style is just exquisite @lanit ! Congrats on a great year of collecting.

I need to catch up on all the wonderful posts over the last few days. (I have seen some lovely pics from so many fly by!)

Here is a quiet but beautiful moussie I picked up this year. Inspired by @Sammy Royal . Ceintures et Liens.

I would say she is in the running for best supporting actress for an understated, sublime performance.View attachment 4939696
Gorgeous!!!!! Hooray for those supporting actresses! Where would we be without them?

My first ever post on TPF! Wearing Rainbow Faubourg 140 shawl! I have had it for one month (first purchase from Hermes shop) and I am loving it! Adds colours to my usually otherwise boring outfits.

Welcome, juzdin. You look chic and comfortable. Your 140 (silk? Cashmere-silk?) is gorgeous and I love your handbag. Congratulations on your first H scarf; it may not be your last :hbeat:.

Wow. Another reason not to love them. Did they give you some refund on the wrinkled Omnibus? (Were you still crying when you called? For me, that would be key, but I am a bit theatrical.)
No refund and no, I didn’t cry to them . I was having a bad day, anyway, and seeing this rumpled beauty just made me see red so I started to tear up :crybaby:. Because I really hate to see these beauties treated in such a manner, and I dislike having to iron a silk unless I absolutely have to. Sending back another treasure- Les Mustangs 70 in red/cranberry which I used a $50 credit on. I adore this design and it was listed as excellent - NOT:mad:. Well used, run and pulls, plus - you guessed it! - wrinkled. Staying away from this company for now and I told them that. So I will lose out on my credit.

What wonderful scarves, Fifi, and your four-legged buddies! So very sweet. I adore my La Comedie Italienne. Your cws are stunning! View attachment 4939737

Welcome to the world of H scarves! Beautiful selections!

Gaming is very popular in my family, and I find that I have a soft spot for silks with cards or dice on them. Le Tarot caught my eye a while back, and it comes in a number of pretty colorways, but this red, blue, yellow and green version caught my eye. Colors right in my wheelhouse, and designed by the popular Annie Faivre, one of my favorite designers, and even featuring her cute monkey. But what makes this scarf an award winner is this: when I sorted my scarf acquisitions for the year in order of purchase price, from high to low, this beauty was at the very bottom.

Presenting my Oscarf for the Best for the Least Award to Le Tarot.

The award for Most Glittery Scarf In My Collection goes to my 2008 iridescent Ex Libris, worn here on Christmas Day with my matching enamelled Rudolph earrings.

I love your posts lanit, a lovely parade of serene silk and lovely lady! Your DuJA moussie is stunning.
I don't quite know where to begin this week. I can't say my habits have changed all that much. I think I did tone it down just a little this year in purchasing, but still....not enough of the letting go for me yet.

I'll start with my up and coming favorite new format for me. It is getting dangerously close to overtaking mousselines in terms of the "favorite format" factor. So this is me: :woot: ... and my wallet: :crybaby:

This year a favorite purchase and favorite design are combined in to one "Best All Around Purchase" with Cosmographia CSGM:

And since I did go to a boutique earlier in the year, I'm giving favorite in person boutique purchase to Brides de Gala en Quadri:

Best for the Least is a category I can always wish for more of! And stunning colors for you! I have wanted a Le Tarot for some time (for the esoteric mythology references) but never seem to be in the right place at the right time.

Now- if I had found it somewhere half price of something....then it would have gotten a Best for Least Award as well! I'll settle for Best All Around for it. It's
