So appealing!! (Yet, I must resist)

What a fab’ way to optimize the scare factor! You mentioned stylized meteors... I swear that Disney World’s Space Mountain roller coaster projected images of giant chocolate chip cookies on the ceiling as meteors for years!!

Honestly never noticed the window man- I’ve always been beguiled by the horse

I can share les Insectes- creepy crawlers that kinda stay hidden in the pleats, so maybe not that scary? Sharing a stock photo to better show off the silk infestation...

Perfect for the week!

A sense of keen-edged terror which all of us scarf-lovers have experienced: FOMO - Fear Of Missing Out. When you agonize over whether or not to buy the 2nd choice green cw in your hands because you have no idea when your first choice blue cw will arrive, or if it will ever arrive... And you check the website 6 times a day hoping that the design you want is back in stock.
I admit here that all my CLFs are FOMO buys. Mr Bones is simply irresistable. Wearing today the grey cw and the marine dipdye.

Oooh- love those together!!!

Flying today with Faubourg Rainbow Detail scarf 45 and The Game scarf 100. Practice the new knot by @Cookiefiend @bunnycat, and many more.... love this knot :drinks:

These look fab! What a great way to double up!

another new scarf, not quite scary, but given the recent accident with Notre Damme i still think it kinda fits in

The colors on this one are perfect for you! Ver elegant!

Recently, I've been tying together 2 scarves because I like the length. Today, it's March du Zambeze and Les Confessions:

These 2 look super together!

"This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night
This is Halloween, everybody make a scene
Trick or treat till the neighbors die of fright"

A local DJ used to play a fab mashup of this with PiL's Auslander. Definitely NOT Disney-approved.

Yesterday, obligatory Caducee Rock, complete with skulls and serpents:

The poster is a humorous imagining of archaeological layers of the city, complete with lots of skulls. I completely forgot to grab the artist's name, but will update.

And today, Les Bains, "artistically" shot in too much sunlight. I'm afraid of heights, and Bains is just one big vertiginous panic attack for me. But the details are so cute!

Love them both and color way cousin on both with you!

Hey scarfies- Happy Halloween week with Awooooo!

Enjoy the autumn weather and trick or treaters:heart:

Sweet dreams for theme week though the creatures are not creepy at all in this colorway...

Both so beautiful... I’m such a sucker for these candy-colored scarves! (See what I did there?) :amuse:
**wait, what knot did I miss?! This looks fab’!**
@tlamdang08, @bunnycat & @Cookiefiend

Beautiful! This is one I honestly am interested in, but at the same time I’m not - I don’t like bugs - but this is gorgeous!

This is adorable!

Perfect!
Thnx :P I bought it mostly for the red ladybugs and had thoughts to deplisse it (but haven’t gotten up the nerve yet).

Love it! I’m a total Nightmare b4 Xmas fan and now have to google Auslander to conjure the mash-up.

My contribution today is kinda a stretch: VIF Argent. My rationale is that some form of the mercury liquid depicted in this design historically was used in shaping felt hats. Sadly the mercury slowly poisoned the hatters over time causing slurred speech, tremors, and other neurological symptoms. SCARY! right?

But ‘looks’ are deceiving.
Annee du Rat and Metamorphose d’un Carre - rats (ewwwwwwwww) need no explanation, but let’s think about Franz Kafka’s book Metamorphosis.
Totally creep-tastic

Edited - SIGH - the website on the phone got me again!
SO - De La Mer au Ciel - so pretty but the ocean is a scary place! I love it but... so pretty, so full of DANGER. Biting things, stinging things, poisonous things!
And I am allergic to shellfish - extra danger things!

Ooh, I have never seen that metamorphose scarf with the origami horses! Great find!
Funny, did not think about the ocean as being scary, but it is full of dangerous beings.

A nightmare of a different kind. I had to have Glitch because it was so pertinent to the media industry. But a glitch is also our occupational nightmare. DH was working for MTV when we got married. The first thing he did in the Bangkok honeymoon suite was turn on the TV and check MTV on the cable channel, looking for glitches. Luckily for me, this pixelated version of Ex Libris is a dream to wear.

Ties wonderfully!

Oh, Luna Park for Something Wicked This Way Comes and its creepy carousel!
And the quote is from Yeats, The Second Coming. I wonder if any of the scarves could evoke his really scary Irish fairies. The Wild Hunt - that's terrifying.
View attachment 4576942
You beat me in identifying the Yeats poem... I adore him... And, very ingenious to find the Carrousel!

I didn't think I had anything for this week's theme and then I remembered...

The Eye of Sauron sees all!
(Aarrgghh by Alice Shirley.)
As an Aussie, I don’t feel that snakes and spiders are very scary as they are much smaller than me and rather common. I suspect that the ‘jellyfish’ in Cosmographia are actually just flying rocks (the ‘jellyfish bit’ just being artistic licence (like how meteors used to be drawn)). On the other hand, I am justifiably afraid of sharks and the idea of flying ones (Nothing but a Dreamer) would definitely give me nightmares. (Although I vaguely recall a children’s book that had that concept as it’s theme; a boy kept as a pet a friendly flying shark!)
Can you imagine people not acquainted with this design and/or Hermès silks walking up to you with this knot? Wow!!

The man in the window on Minuit au Faubourg has always given me the creeps...
Oh, yeah... pretty creepy and ominous

This is the scariest scarf I have. I think an encounter with this fierce tiger would be pretty frightening!

I was getting ready to look for pics of mine... I love this CW!

Circle of life indeed!

Yes, this is the light bordered Nuba. I hesitate to say white because it has strong yellow undertones. The effect is not unlike Farrow and Ball ‘Clunch’. Being a work-horse scarf it gets a fair work out and this is probably my favourite way to wear it.

I love the ocean - I love to see it and be near it, I'm okay with wading in/floating in it (but not too deep), and boats are okay if it's not rough - but. It is big, and it is deep, and dark, and full of 'things' that like to eat people.
As an aside - I have read WAY too many scary/frightening books about the ocean. :giggle: :wtf: :panic:
