ooh! OMG! I have Nuba Mountain too in a different cw and went & looked at it. My cw also shows the red blood spurting out. Who would have thought? Having been on safari multiple times, those lions are pretty realistically graphic.
One of my favourite (and work-horsey) scarves is Nuba Mountain by Sefedin. Check out the *actual blood* on the lions’ jaws. Aaaaagh!View attachment 4576674

Is this a white background Nuba -- looks like it. What color is the border? I am wondering whether the border is also white. I had a thing for Nubas years ago b/c of the wild colors like kittyvoo's version has, almost psychedelic. I never noticed the blood before, thanks for pointing that out. Nubas come in a lot of colors, most frequently earthy combos (but not dark colors). Your Nuba is enchanting --- and the lion with bad dinner manners (what? no napkin?) is wonderful in his creepy way.

I have been wondering if anyone will post "Grr" that practically rabid bear of maybe 3 years back. And of course the howling wolf from a season ago or so (forgot the name). The wolf is in front of the moon, I think, which makes his pose delightfully Halloweenish. And how about Cave Felem with the black cat -- I believe she has a mouse, too.

Lo
I didn't think I had anything for this week's theme and then I remembered...

The Eye of Sauron sees all!
(Aarrgghh by Alice Shirley.)
As an Aussie, I don’t feel that snakes and spiders are very scary as they are much smaller than me and rather common. I suspect that the ‘jellyfish’ in Cosmographia are actually just flying rocks (the ‘jellyfish bit’ just being artistic licence (like how meteors used to be drawn)). On the other hand, I am justifiably afraid of sharks and the idea of flying ones (Nothing but a Dreamer) would definitely give me nightmares. (Although I vaguely recall a children’s book that had that concept as it’s theme; a boy kept as a pet a friendly flying shark!)
love how you tied that scarf!
Now I want one...

Circle of life indeed!

Yes, this is the light bordered Nuba. I hesitate to say white because it has strong yellow undertones. The effect is not unlike Farrow and Ball ‘Clunch’. Being a work-horse scarf it gets a fair work out and this is probably my favourite way to wear it.

That is Alber Elbaz, creative director of Lanvin in Paris from 2001 until 2015
This info was widely mentioned when Minuit was released, due to proximity of the House of Lanvin to FSH.

I think I knew this at some point. (But forgot!)

Actual SOTD. Reve d’australie based on aboriginal drawings of Dreamtime. It does feature a snake.View attachment 4577256

Hmmm... Halloween is partly about wearing masks, right? And camails are a sort of mask for horses so my Camails MT Cut is kinda on theme, maybe? (yeah i'm stretching here lol) In any case, actual SOTD! i do find the camails a bit spooky I have to say. Maybe it's those ears that look like devil horns?

And the eye cut outs that make the eyes look "empty" kinda sends it over the edge.... (I'm probably ruining everyone's scarves now by making them in to something scary...)
