Thank you Anna! And congrats on you SD too! It looks marvelous on you! I actually have a scarf hanging kit and we live in a very old house with plaster walls (ugh) and ton of light. That makes for easily damaging walls ( not plumb nor eAsy to affix screws into) and no matter how much we swap out art there will be UV exposure. My framed silk is in a northern light room and I do think it will fade of course in time. The one solution I think would work os a magnetic board affixed with magnetics, but I prefer the traditional framed look on our home vs, temporary look. I’m in the same boat, no wall space but narrow hallways and that makes for difficult viewing and appreciation. For now, they are enjoyed around my neck and shoulders.:idea:

There is....and if it worked all you would need would be little magnets to hold the scarves in place. It would be easy peasy to change them around too!View attachment 4399843
Oh my goodness... this is truly ideal and I am going to check this out.
@lanit - if this works (I'll try a patch in the garage to see), we could paint a square and then have a frame made to fit the square - 90cm x 90 cm or slightly larger to allow the paint to give it a more traditional 'mat' look. Attach something interesting to the magnets and it could be a fantastic look!

I see -- well, the scarves are meant to be worn on our person, right? so we are still using them to the best as intended.

I will say something I am considering is a possibility of a nice frame with an underlying metal over which a scarf can be placed and secured with magnets in the corner. We bought an art work from an artist that was done like that (the artwork itself is on a piece of steel and popped into a magnetic frame), and I think a good framer should be able to manage that.

I adore this little scarf and think it would make an extraordinary wall hanging. It is art around my neck as well and one I almost always take with me when traveling - like today.

First picture is of the darling thing after a very warm day at Versailles - I had to laugh because I felt like the little thing was just beside itself after seeing those gardens! It has been washed since! [emoji38]

Love this on you!
I also agree with someone’s comment that the smaller formats would be easier to mount as art.
Actually I think any of the Alice Shirley designs would look great on a wall. Although a few like this one and the Canadian wild scarf would look best if mounted on the diagonal.

Great theme week posts thus far scarfies! I’ve always hough H silks were easily frameble but my lessons learned are 1) framing a 90 cm silk is very expensive, sometimes costing more than the silk due to proper framing needs such as archival quality materials and uv protective glass. 2) choosing a good colorway fom framing that will work with your interior decor in various rooms is also what I consider. A scarf that I would wear may not be the one I’d like to frame for my home, thus doubling up on cost.

That said here are a few that I would consider framing if funds and space would allow for it. I finally did frame one exceptional scarf that was the perfect size, a 55cmemroidered bandana of Tiger Royal purchased at the Carre Club event in LA. I think scarf size for framing is ideal at pochette, bandana and 70 cm sizes. Wish I had he wall space for 90cm! Please look up the thread on framing your scarves: it was very helpful to me regarding framing options and considerations.

For a pop anf silk that keeps a viewer interested for a while, how about Hippopolis or Fauborg silk by Ugo Gattoni?

And what I am wearing today: Having a blast with a new SS silk Sweet Dreams. Those colorful monsters remind me of the fauve paintings combined with Matisse and Goines all rolled into one.

Have a great hump day all!

Love your special scarf but also your new SD scarf. I would never have thought to pair it with that cornflower blue top, but that’s genius!

Super cute twinster! These are really great colors on you!

Toits de paris would look great framed. As much as I love this scarf, it can be challenging to tie to show off some of the cute details like the mice. Archive pic.View attachment 4399948
Toits de Paris is such a great scarf and it look fab on you scarf1! But I can relate to the tying problem for sure....

Thank you!
It would be easier to mount the smaller ones - less weight, and would be easier to wrangle the small amount of fabric - oh heck - the smaller ones are just great all the way around!
