Well, H-Scarf devotees, after writing this post, I decided to pull out my lovely gold-wheat Paperoles and try it on with a new twinset and voila! Not too fancy at all! In fact, I love it! And I also like the way I tied it. So, I no longer want to think this is a too-fancy scarf. And I’m determined to wear it more.Hi momasaurus! Nice to be twins and to know someone feels similarly about this scarf. What to do with it? It’s delicate fanciness precludes me from gifting it to any candidate in my family, all much younger. I do wear it on occasion, but rarely, and now my growing collection provides me with lots of options so there is always something else that fits the occasion or outfit better. The colors do suit me. Back in the 90’s and early aughts when I traveled for work and wore business suits, it would have served me well, but those days are long gone. (I had just the purple suit for it, sigh...). I just don’t know what to do with it. Hanging it is a good idea, but for me, I wouldn’t frame it permanently. I did see a scarf-hanging system on the internet (not Hermès’ system). Maybe I’ll consider that. And someday perhaps I’ll sell it on ebay. But I do not want to become a seller yet! Regardless, it is truly a gorgeous scarf and the design, as you note, is clever and interesting.
Good for you! I think it’s been said...this is where we find ever more glorious ways to explore and enjoy these works of art.Well, H-Scarf devotees, after writing this post, I decided to pull out my lovely gold-wheat Paperoles and try it on with a new twinset and voila! I'm so glad… it looks terrific paired with your twinset. I used to wear my H scarves to dress up my business suits back in the day. but now that I'm retired, and live mainly in jeans and sweaters, I wear them casually all the time. If I didn't, I'd never wear them, and what a pity that would be! I think many on this thread would agree that one of the best things about H scarves (well, in addition to their color and design, of course) is their versatility.Well, H-Scarf devotees, after writing this post, I decided to pull out my lovely gold-wheat Paperoles and try it on with a new twinset and voila! Thank you, ElainePG. Yes, they are versatile. I treat them a bit like with kid gloves, but if I don’t wear them, what’s the point? Spend all that money for them to sit in a drawer? So I am going to wear them! Period!I'm so glad… it looks terrific paired with your twinset. That’s so sweet! Chuckling as I write...That noise you hear is a standing ovation!
These are lovely and your modeling is, too!I do tend to wear more recently purchased scarves more than older ones.
Here is a pic of the first 8 scarves I bought. All are 90s, except for one 70.
Several years later I started trying other formats- Moussies are now my favorite, but I do still wear 70s and 90s.
I also like CSGM and the men’s 100 format.i have more 90s than I need, but I have yet to rehome any.
Interesting that of the 8 scarves pictured only the Noel Au 24 Faubourg is still worn frequently( although only in Dec)
scarves: grands fonds( very first scarf), Jardin de Leila, en avant toute! QM2, en avant toute!, Noel Au 24F, Au coeur de la vie( original release), Au coeur de la vie (2014)

My very first Hermès item is this light blue Les Cléfs, new edition 2006, that I bought in April 2006. Even if it was quickly followed by other carrés, it was always this one I carried the most for several years. Now it is over a year since my latest carré acquisition. CSGMs and moussies have become my preferences. The dark blue losange Liste au Fil is a favourite.
Blue is always blue!
