I actually do really like the color run, it gives the scarf a very nice ombre effect.
You're right, honeylocks! I think that's why the dye stain didn't jump out at me when I decided to buy the scarf -- it was a low price, so I should have guessed there was more than a little wrong. OTOH, it's a hard-to-find pricey scarf so I don't mind having even a flawed version in this colorway!

For those who don't have 70cm vintage scarves or dip dyes (lookin' at you, fifi), don't forget that older scarves can be incredibly soft and some years seem softer than others. Multiple hand washings can soften scarves too.
A soft old scarf: Veneries de Princes [1957] showing the mesh jacquard

Kimonos et Inros, washed many times to improve the color run on the yellow parts that even boiling water rinses didn't eliminate. (And the seller didn't mention it, either -- my fault for not noticing.)

Face au Large [2000] and Voyage au Long Cours [2001] both by Jarlegant and incredibly soft -- note that the years were sequential, so perhaps the sizing was light that year (or the pastel shades were softer).

The mesh jacquard has to be my favorite by far!! Was this the only design to use mesh jacquard? So very beautiful!:flowers:

This scarf is on 'Fish Scale' jacquard - Fauconnerie Royal Deduct and Romantique are on this jacquard too. It is beautiful.
The mesh jacquard has several scarfs - many of them are original issues like Mors et Gourmettes and Quai aux Fleurs.
(I found this information on the Hermesology site, but I also have FRD, M et G, and Q aux F in these patterns)

Happy Sunday with Clic clac a Pois!

This looks amazing on you!

Fellow scarifies - I'm writing a little apology. I've been told that my Aux Pays de Epices is a fake, a pretty one, but a fake none the less. I've reported the posts to the mods and asked them to remove them so no one makes the same mistake I did in thinking it was an authentic Hermes scarf.
I'm so sorry and terribly embarrassed.
Joining the collective in expressing my sadness for you! Crossing fingers that it’s not too late for you to open a case and be reimbursed. What a blessing that some knowledgeable Good Samaritan clued you in to the dupe.

Jaguar quetzal for today
My, my- that is a stunner!!

Here are some mod shots. I usually do cowboy for the 70s, otherwise, bias fold and tied to one side.
Such lovelies!!

It's still too cold to wear these, but if I do, I will post mod shots!

Great collection! I am loving that gray J'aime Mon Carre!!! I've not seen that one before. Hmmmmm......

Here's a link to various jacquard patterns:
http://hermes.digitalurbana.com/2008/07/list-of-jacquard-carres/
and some notes on "mesh" (sometimes called "scalloped", also "fish scale" -- quite a lot of variation and hard to see in pictures, so best to depend on owners for info)
Mors et Gourmettes – original issue had mesh jacquard
Grand Vents - mesh (original issue only)
Les Insectes - not all editions (a kind of diamond pattern)
République Française – scalloped (I don't know the actual pattern)
Venerie des Princes - mesh
Voliere des Dames – scalloped (not all editions)

Yes! And I did ask if anyone ever saw me post something that wasn't authentic to please tell me!
I've had the scarf since September so I'm past any window of return. I figure that I now have a very pretty 'Lesson in Authenticity'… I'll find a use for it even if its just lining my purse.

But I truly thank everyone for your kind words - I very much appreciate them.
