Gotta round out the last half of 2018's favorite purchases.

The frenzy didn't stop with the spring buys...nope. Mayhem continued well in to the fall....

First came Acte iii CW 12 after a stalled first attempt at finding the right color for me.
View attachment 4296110

Then hot on its heels was Baobab Cat. After swearing I was going to get the pocket square I backpedaled at the last moment and went with the bigger version (no regrets...I like having large cats all over my shoulders.... :P )
View attachment 4296123

And I clearly wasn't done with cats yet, as I FOMO'd the purple Jaguar Quetzal right in to my scarf drawer.....(no regrets at all....shut up wallet....)
View attachment 4296131

And those were just the brand news ones....

Some time during the late fall I found H Comme Hermes NWT (also had been a FOMO during the 70cm productions. I could never decide on a color...) and turns out most of the Colorways would have probably made me happy, but I love my rose and bleu one...

View attachment 4296130

Still on a pastel kick I also found a NTM Karnak and over the past few months it has become a favorite purchase for the 2018. It has a way of going with most things I wear in an ethereal sort of way....feels like cotton candy....
View attachment 4296124

Plus a little contrast with Caducee Rock. Really love the 100cm size. And love the design of this one....easy to wear favrorite purchase that I got a great deal on...(double bonus!)

View attachment 4296125

And finally, a present from MrBcat at Xmas- Grand Manege Cut bandana. I didn't expect to like this as much as I do, and I suspect it will become a favorite "purchase" (present).

View attachment 4296127

It's not lost on me almost all of these are in pink/purple shades except for the last one....I think I have a pink problem...

All are beautiful and I identify with a pink problem which also extends to coral.

They are gorgeous. I really like the ActIII on you, your wear it very well.

Thank you monteverdi!

All are beautiful and I identify with a pink problem which also extends to coral.

yeesss- My pink problem certainly extends in to the peaches and corals as well.....Blue is much easier. There are only a few shades that actually look good on me (navy, royal blue and Tiffany blue) so the damage is not so deep in those colors.

These were all purchases made in 2018 of scarves from past seasons... before it was too late:

I knew I wanted Ndop the minute I found about the history and inspiration behind the design, but wasn’t totally convinced that it was for me and kept putting it off until I ordered it on impulse from the H website and it became a keeper.

View attachment 4296098

Fouets et Badines was probably the design that most surprised me at the beginning of the Fall/Winter 2017 season when I saw it displayed at the H boutique. The checkered hem jumped at me. But it was a design I kept leaving behind for others. Until I saw the green one worn by a Hermès aficionado I follow on Instagram and, inspired by him, I knew I had to have it in the same CW.

View attachment 4296100

Appaloosa des Steppes was one I avoided because the giant spotted horse with the staring eye gave me the creeps, so I never even tried it on. But then I saw so many beauties here on TPF that I decided to give it a try and it was love at first tie. Now there are tons of CWs still on the H website and I may even go for the more neutral CW. Love it so much!
View attachment 4296101

I thought I wanted Etude pour une Parure de Gala in the black and white but they never had it at my H store. Then last summer when I was buying my Acte III, I tried the pink on and died. Didn’t decide on it right then and there but thought about it every day until I finally went and got it. And with it came the white later. I had to because it’s such a luxurious swath of decadent white and I gasped when I saw @Pautinka wear it to the theater. Maybe I can still get the black, it’s such an elegant classic.
View attachment 4296102
View attachment 4296099

Finally, Jardin a Sintra. Fell in love with the design but could never make up my mind about the CW. I tried on the blue/purple with the orange border in the summer and was blown away but kept remembering other CWs I had seen on TPF, namely @Croisette7 neutral one. But I had my SA hold the blue/purple for me until he called me before Christmas asking whether I still wanted it. I couldn’t commit because the more neutral one was haunting me. Then the night I purchased Animapolis from the H site, there was the neutral Sintra suddenly available, but I left it in my cart for still a few more days. The night I went in and purchased it I went back to look and it was gone. So, I may have gotten the last one? This was my last purchase of 2018... I am soooo in love with it!

View attachment 4296103

So happy for you, you finally got your Sintra!

And while this was not a scarf I purchased in 2018, it’s still a superhero of a scarf - wearing today - L’Arbre de Vie
View attachment 4296161
OK... Amazing! Ailes de la Soie is one that I ignored at the Paris boutique when we were there last... And they had all the CWs! And I’ve regretted it ever since. Between your mod shots and those of @Pirula I hope to maybe find me one in 2019? It ties soooo beautifully! Another one I would love is L’Arbre de Vie... You’re so lucky to own these stunners!

So happy for you, you finally got your Sintra!
Yessss!! And it hasn’t come back to the H online store since I got it!

With your eye color, do you also wear a lot of olive green? I do. H does many more olive green scarves than sea green. Every now and then sea green clothing will "displace" olive in the market but most of the time, olive rules, it's a staple. Plus, fashion magazines love to feature a "military" look which is blinged up to make it somewhat feminine and accessible (I'm not complaining).
Olive green tends to wash me out; I can only wear shades that have a greener base vs a yellower base. My absolute best green is forest and it can be tough to find; depends on the year.

It really is such a great scarf - I'm so happy with it. I had thought that I wanted the cw @Pirula has (I love that turquoise!), but when I saw this I realized this was a better one for me.
Thank you for the kind words!
And many many thanks to everyone for all the likes!

Lucky you to have found this! I am green eyed as well, this is the kind of color I am attracted to. I looked at the time for this color way in different stores, but never had the chance to see it in real.
Also, I remember it was on the web site for just a few days and I was not fast enough...

Congrats to you!
Thanks; it’s even prettier in real life! I first saw it on apassionforelegance and then I ran across it at a boutique and couldn’t let it go. Even my husband loves it; he had my unfurl it at a dinner with friends to show off the design! We were in Portugal in 2016, so I also think of it as a souvenir!

You have painted a fascinating scenario! The mountains, the animals, all fabulous! I started to think of Animapolis! But the cobras? I’d be deathly afraid!
And, De Passage a Moscou is one of those Grails that have always eluded me. I would be happy with ANY CW, although I refuse to pay an unthinkable price. Maybe this will be my year? Fingers crossed... Yours is spectacular!
Thank you, Fifi. I hope that you WILL find the Moscou scarf this year!

I remember you showing this scarf recently and being in awe of how great it looks on you. I still am  I haven’t been to Moscow in years, but I do love Eastern European-themed scarves. I would love that same colorway actually — it’s on my list.
Thank you for your sweet compliment, AnnaE! I hope you also find your dream cw of Moscou!

Looks wonderful on you Bobcat - glad that you were able to find it! It’s one of the top 3 on my wishlist - someday!
Thank you, Chocolatchaud! And I root for you too.

You can really pull off that La Maison! It reminds of the Surf one — love the design, cannot pull it off to save my life.

This color way is perfect for your shirt!

The scarf is lovely, and I am so fond of the colors on it, which look great on you. It must be so much fun to have such strong associations with a lovely part of your life.
AnnaE, it WAS a lovely part of my life, from 1995 through 2008.

I will! I picked out the hot pink one and it is currently in the "presents for later" stash Mr Bcat keeps on tap....

This is so elegant on you fifi! Love the cape-let! (I think I may be your twin on it. I have a white one too...)

This color is so perfect for you bobkat!
Thank you, bunnycat. And you should embrace your pink muse....pink IS your color!

I'm laughing (Pakistan doesn't bother to name any mountains unless they are 21,000 feet or higher) and squealing (cobras!!) at the same time!
momasaurus, Pakistan was an interesting place to live. When you left the compound in a car, they always inspected the car thoroughly for bombs before you could reenter. Of course this is true at most if not all embassies. But Pakistan in particular always reminded me of that USA bullseye on my center mass. Think of the recruits and money you would attract by killing or injuring an American!

Thank you so much! My friend knows that I love scarves, especially Hermès so she has given me a number of beautiful and special ones through the years, although none were Hermès. Since she has always admired my H scarves I really wanted to treat her.

I’ve also seen it in the RealReal and by the time I decided, I missed out. I’ve been always waiting for maybe another CW coming along to compare but at this point I’ll take any if I find it at the right price!

The pink will be great for you. I saw it IRL and it’s beautiful. I loved that capelet jacket so much that I also got it in black... Thank you so much!

That looks like such an easy shape to drape and tie. Really want to play around with it when I visit H next. Yours is gorgeous! The pop of orange hem is fantastic!

Oh, I love how it ties! Great CW!

Thank you so much! The outfit came first and I knew I wanted to wear a new and special scarf with it. I knew immediately this was the one I wanted! Luckily it was so readily available. It’s still on the website!

Thank you so very much for such lovely compliments! I highly recommend the Brides Fleuris... It is a timeless design made edgy and modern with the tattoo and so feminine with the flowers. You must take a look at it up close... the flowers look actually as if embroidered in the most realistic trompe l’oeil!
And regarding being a chamaleon that wears anything, it wasn’t always this way so I know it’s more mind over matter. In my younger years I avoided yellow, grey and some neutrals. Then, when I became a shameless old lady, I removed the barriers and began to wear EVRYTHING... with gusto!
Another example is that I went for decades without wearing pierced earrings because the hole in one ear had been pierced way off center when I was a little girl so earrings always stuck out in a conspicuous way. Then, in these shameless years, that limitation is also out the window. Also, I’m very short and wear THE biggest, boldest statement jewelry in the planet. I hear people say that they don’t have the stature to wear certain pieces and... look at short ME!! I go for it and pull it off always!
Nothing’s gonna stop me from wearing and enjoying every beautiful thing that comes my way (provided I can afford it, of course!)... My motto in this respect: No more mental boundaries and I’m gonna make it work!

So very true about the prices everywhere. I remember when I was offered a Turandot for $400! I’m still looking for one and it looks more and more hopeless!
Fifi, talk about great attitudes....I greatly admire YOURS!

This so beautiful and you wear it so well!
