This was the year of the cat for me because I added to my collex the first full-color feline-themed silks. Although I had my black/white Tyger Tyger, I got it because I “needed” a b/w scarf and not so much because of the theme. And I wear my mom’s Jungle Love all the time and say it’s “mine” (Shhhhh... I do that a lot!)... but it’s not really mine. And this lack of feline scarves is really odd because I adore cats IRL and love animal prints.

So, here they are: My first purchase of the SS2019 season was Jaguar Quetzal, which I actually got in December. I think it was the feathers that captivated me, but I soon fell in love with the snuggling kitty.

Then Baobab Cat came along for FW2018... At first I didn’t like the cat’s head emerging from the flower, but fell in love at first try!View attachment 4293426

Yay! JQ twin! :ghi5: Such great colors for you fifi!

Wishing my fellow scarfies a happy and healthy 2019! I’ve retreated to lurking again and enjoying everyone’s posts and photos, as I’ve been under the weather (no SOTD with jammies!).

2018 was the year of the slippery orange slope for me - my wallet thanks me that it’s scarves and not handbags! My “collection” went from 3 to 9 in the last three months of the year (10 counting the one on its way . And I learned H scarves feature more than horses and saddles (yes, I really thought that at one time!) and found:
Sieste au Paradis
Acte III
Parures de Samouraïs
Fouets et Badines
Robe du Soir
A L’Ombre des Pivoines (under the Christmas tree)
and Minuit au Faubourg (soon to arrive)

At this point in my life, I will never have an extensive scarf collection, but look forward to adding pieces that “speak” to me. Learning the stories behind the scarves, here on TPF, adds to their beauty. So, thank you for graciously sharing your knowledge with us newbies, and for all the wonderful pics!

Ok- I left off on Sunday with March. After reviewing all my ins and outs I guess I'll pick back up right there!

After not only picking up the boutique treasures I did (and I forgot to add the Jardin Anglais I found as well at H-matic that I'd missed out online when it was available) I ended up locating the fabulously crinkly Rouge H Toile H mousseline stole from 2007. A great blast from the past from moussieland,

I (I mean, my wallet) had a tiny break and I was just starting to relax when THIS happened in May. One of my favorite moussie purchases EVER, which I found after not one or two but three missed tries, my obsession finally reached fever pitch and I overpaid but got what I wanted to finally lay it to rest. Axis Mundi. Surprisingly versatile for me in this odd peach/mustard/green colorway.

I also added on a Coupons Indiennes because I love the print and finally found one that wasn't pastel after a long long search.

My next favorite for this year is a VERY sentimental choice. Back in I think 2006/7, my oldest granddaughter Justine, had a wonderful woldog. Maska was about 85% wolf and just really affectionate with the whole extended family. He ran away in late November 2010. They lived on a farm...didn't have a fenced yard. In mid December 2010 my DIL found his body under a backyard shed. He had been hit by a car.

In September 2011, my granddaughter Justine was involved in a fatal auto accident.

So.......in remembrance of Justine and her Maska, I purchased Awoo.

Bobkat, this is so moving.
It is a touching way of paying a tribute to your granddaughter.

Wishing everyone a wonderful and Happy New Year or Hogmanay from Scotland.

Thank you to scarf mistresses for their hard work and dedication and each and every one of you, contributors to this thread. Thank you also to my shopping accomplices.

I ended up with 3 Act IIIs this season as well as other new scarves that were more atypical and pushed my boundaries as well as a very meaningful, vintage gift. I have no concept of which new to me scarves came this year or last, silk is a slippery thing but they've all earned their place.

Waving 2018 goodbye and embracing 2019 with one of my favourite scarves bought this year but belonging more to next.

Gotta keep everything in Perspectives, a site specific scarf for all occasions and all places.

Grand scenery and beautiful scarf!

Such a heartbreaking story behind the shawl you got in remembrance and honor of your granddaughter and her dog. Your shawl is warm and beautiful, as you are.

I too hesitated to "like" you post...however, the sentiment is truly meant in a spirit of love and hugs to you and your family for your loss.

LOL I do Scarf of Two Day’s all the time for the same lazy reason! Perspectives is amazing and one that I would’ve overlooked save for posts like yours. Amazing design!

Oh what a wonderful and memorable silk year for you! Can’t wait to see what adventures await you in 2019! The CSGM is breathtaking!

I always loved FW... and so many others from the Men’s collex yet haven’t plunged in yet. And the design is still available! The red FW is spectacular! So fabulous tied! Maybe 2019 will be my year?
Thanks FiFi, always happy to enable
