Perfect with your sweater!
Thank you!
Greetings, my dear Scarfies! I’ve been absent for a while due to a lot of RL busy-ness, but I am so glad to be back today before the year is over. I’ve missed everyone so! First I post the two scarves I’ve been wearing most this month and they both feature many ribbons: Grand Manège Detail from the current Fall/Winter 2018 collection, and my vintage Christmas scarf, Neige d’Antan. Then, some more ribbony and feathered classics: Les Fêtes du Roy Soleil, Cheval Fleuri, Brandebourgs, Mexique, Carnevale du Venise, Mon Ami Pierrot and Bolduc featuring all of those familiar Hermès ribbons. The last one is one of my favorites to wear during the Fall months: Chapeau!View attachment 4291255 View attachment 4291254 View attachment 4291253 View attachment 4291250 View attachment 4291246 View attachment 4291240 View attachment 4291237 View attachment 4291236 View attachment 4291235 View attachment 4291234
ohmy - glorious as always!
One last one for the week with some ribbon details on my own Grand Manege bandana and feathers aplenty on Mythique Phoenix:

And some tassels (kind of ribbon like???) on Caducee Rock

On topic: deck the neck with lots of feathers
And boughs of beauty!
My last offerings for this week. But before I show the silk, a quick teaser for tomorrow.
We are welcoming more scarfies to Team Scarf Mistress and one of them is going to introduce the last theme for 2018. You are going to love her (correction - we already adore her!). So get ready your Scarves of the Year and let us cross over to 2019 in style! :coolio:

Now for my last few feathers and ribbons:
Cent Plis de Miao: these pleated skirts are fastened round the waist with a long handwoven ribbon, and the border is embroidered and appliqued with ribbon.
View attachment 4291760
And this is a 2-for-the-price-of-1 deal! (For our green-eyed scarfies), Belle Epoque features a feathered fan in the centre and ribbons curling round the border. So with a bit of adjustment, I could have feathers+ribbon round my neck ;)

Love it!
My last one for 2018: PLUMES CSGM

So beautiful Croisette!

Absolutely love this shade of blue, Cookie ! And you knotted your Mors to show it off so well.
Thank you so much!
30 Dec 2018 SCARVES OF THE YEAR: your favorite purchase(s) this year (new or new-to-you)

On the final week of the year I’m back after a brief hiatus due to a few RL issues. I am so glad to be here to share and to learn and to marvel at all of the silky wonders. I will be covering this week for dear @ABQ2ATL who is taking a break to take care of some issues at home.

Thank you, for the intro, dear @xincinsin . I am so humbled and excited to contribute to this forum as member of Team Scarf Mistress next Year!

This week’s theme is so much fun as we share our favorite and most special purchases of the year, as well as those that are from new designers or “new” to us in any way (a designer that we’ve just discovered, or a new format that we’ve experimented with, or a new discovery that we’ve made, etc.). So many possibilities!

One of my favorite scarves this year was Edgard Baribeaud’s Acte III, Scene 1, La Clairiere. Baribeaud is a new designer for Hermès and I was so happy to discover this design and add it to my collection. It was my first purchase of the Fall/Winter 2018 season. View attachment 4291881

Another new designer for Hermès is Jan Bajtlik who created the delightful and popular Animapolis for the Spring/Summer 2019 collection. This scarf is also my first purchase of the coming season. I immediately fell in love with it and it has already become a favorite.View attachment 4291875

And, now on to a couple of new and innovative concepts at Hermès: the interactive scarf and carré wash...
La Tour de Monde en 63 Cases is Hermès’ first interactive scarf and this idea was so innovative and fun that I couldn’t resist getting two CWs.
Also, this year Hermès introduced the carre wash or washable silk concept and I fell in love with the special vintage feel of these carrés and made the delightful Coupé de Gala my own.

And as far as favorites go, I must mention my lucky find in February of the yellow/grey CW of Parures de Samouraïs. Many here knew about my angst at having passed on that CW and a very kind SA tracked it down for me when all hope was lost. I’ve been over the moon with it since.View attachment 4291879

Another very lucky find of an amazing scarf was Flamingo Party, the special Miami boutique edition, which my SA casually and quite magically offered me in August. I was floored that they still had one of this rare edition floating around at the store. This is my very first scarf of an edition created for a specific city/store.View attachment 4291872

This was also the year that some very special vintage Grails came my way from designers new to me:
Fleurs d’Ecosse by Sylvia Kerr;
Chaque Rencontre est Unique by Hajine Katagiri; and Zabavushka by Evgenia Miroshnichenko.

Finally, there is my last scarf of 2018: Grand Manège Detail which has quickly become a favorite in my wardrobe. Can’t wait to see all of the beauties you will all share and how you will expand on this fun topic!
DAGNABBIT!
Where is that fainting couch?!?
Fantastic intro Fifi and such marvelous choices - I don't think I can pick a favorite! You wear them all so well.
Lovely shade of blue!
Thanks sweetie!
So happy to celebrate my favorite new-to-me scarf of the year, the beautiful Tohu Bohu!

I saw this scarf on Jan's website and mentioned it to my husband as something I was casually interested in. Was upset when I checked a few days later and it was sold. Christmas morning was a very wonderful surprise!

What a marvelous gift! It's beautiful!
(and now you know DH is listening!)

Like fifi said, there are so many ways to go this week on favorite purchases.

I started out 2018 with the resolution to locate some of my personal "grails" and 2018 delivered and then some with several favorites and more than just a few grail searches...(my wallet is still recovering... ) So I guess I'll start with january of 2018 and just make my way through the year over the course of the week. (I'm actually having to consult my scarf purchase files to do this there were so many things this past year... )

After finishing off 2017 right (Parures de Samourais for Xmas) and right after buying Jaguar Quetzal CW 01 the day it came out on h dot com, January-February dropped a long sought after scarf right at my feet....I had searched for a Tigre Royal for some time and to find it not only in my preferred colorway (purple/gold), but also in the preferred format (70cm) was a real bonus!

tigrefavpurchase.jpg

This was followed shortly after by a drive by purchase (at H-matic) of a scarf I didn't expect to find... Sieste au Paradis also in purple/pink....

siestafav.jpg

and (seriously???!!) the week after that one was Bains d'Hermes. Honestly one of my best purchases of 2018. Easy to wear, always looks fresh, colorful, and a really fabulous format....This is probably my most worn scarf of the year.

Thank you so much for your lovely and much treasured compliments, dear!

I think I'll make several posts of my favorite finds of the year. First up: a L'Instruction du Roy from the 1990's in Olive, Sienna and Gold

To me L’Instruction is hands down one of the most sumptuous and elegant Hermès designs ever! And this luscious green is fantastic!

I just love this post because of the beauties presented and also because of its chronological order! They are all spectacular, but the SaP of which I am your twin, is probably my fav. It’s such a delight to tie and suits you perfectly! The Bains d’Hermes in this CW is fantastic! Is this a moussie... Looks so fresh and airy!

Thank you fifi! I'm so happy to be your twin! :ghi5: Bains is from the men's collection. It is the 100cm format (yay! love 100cm!) and is cotton/silk. I was not expecting to like this size or format as much as I do! (Of course, I now continuously wish they had more designs and more colorful pieces in the cotton/silk format.)

Aha! Somehow I missed that one! It is gorgeous! I must pay closer attention to the men’s collection in the future. This is something I’ve learned in this forum as in the past I just simply never looked there!
