The only way a consignment would list a bag without keeping the bag in their possession is if they are very familiar/comfortable with the bag's owner. Too bad she was tipped off

OP, I suspect that Linda (or Lynda), the owner of luxurysnobconsignment is reading this thread so you might want to limit the information you post.

I'm afraid it's helping her "hide" the goods.

I am compiling and sending you a lot of information to weed through and you can forward whatever to the police, your detective and if there's an attorney involved, to your lawyer.

I have no doubt that Linda is involved and did have your bags.

I think a uniformed police officer showing up at the door of her business might shake loose some information, because even if (in the beginning), she might have been a victim, the fact is that she received stolen merchandise and if she's hiding it, she's as guilty as the thief and can be convicted.

If your detective isn't an NYPD law enforcement police officer, they need to be involved.

And in the event that Linda - Lynda is reading this, this message is for you: DO THE RIGHT THING!! The pictures (which have been saved) show 3 of the OP's Chanel bags in YOUR possession. You've been caught!

Oh ladies you are the best! I believe those are the bags and reached out to the person who you see the picture of, she is the owner of the consignment store, she is not the one who came into my store, I believe she had the bags sent into her for consignment and she had no idea they were stolen with a stolen credit card.I have just notified her and she took down the turquoise chanel and hopefully will take down the silver tote. I will be speaking with her tomorrow and I will let you all know what happens!!!! I will also let my detective know that the bags are possibly there! Once we confirm serial numbers, we can confirm they are mine, but I am pretty sure they are mine, what are the chances those are rare bags, and the girl who scammed me I am pretty sure is in NYC, as she used the credit card there as well and said she was from there!!!

This is a horrible story and I am happy you seem on the way to get your bags back! Great work by our helpful members!

I have to say that even though the woman in the pic had no idea the bags were stolen I find it wrong that she is using bags she agrees to consign in her store? Or did I understand it incorrectly?

Edit

On my phone so I somehow did not see some of the posts before posting this.

Shady linda, busted.

In my opinion, the lady's story is complete BS. It's obvious by the photos that she has had these bags in her possession. The fact that she would rather lie to you about it than help you catch the thief strongly suggests to me that there is more going on here. I'd turn her name over to the cops and let them handle it.

Amen to this.

When the bags were discovered the police should have been the person to contact this very very shady person named Lynda/Linda. This girl would have been caught red handed with no "heads up." Contact with anyone involved whether guilty or not should never be handled by the victim.

It is in the OP's best interest to be skeptical of everyone involved as many people work together to pull off these scams. Of course she was " nice" on the phone and pretended to cooperate........never known a scammer to confess right out of the gate.

That was the turquoise reissue bag. She ended the listing, but there's no telling where luxurysnobconsignment has hidden that bag or the others.

Here's a cache of the listing that was there:

Thank you:smile1:

It is a sad World we live in when Young people need to steal and lie to be able to live a lie. So much evolves around having the latest luxury items that so many are willing to do whatever it takes to keep up with this screwed up perception of how things should be. Very sad. It also seems as if most of them are not very clever either. They should have focused more on educating themselves.

She's in Cancun (or was). Let the police know this - maybe they can get a search warrant for her residence while she's still out of town - and yes, make sure you check every single one of the people that are following her, like her items and make comments. Easy to do and with Google cache and the Way Back Machine - nothing is ever fully erased from the web so she can't cover it up. And the police have very good ways of tracing back anything that is deleted.

I imagine this much be a good way to money launder - get stolen goods from stolen credit cards and then sell on IG and no one knows where the cash is coming from. I wonder also if with that much in sales if there is sales tax/income tax due?

If you notice she says she doesn't send invoices -- please tell me that you are showing all of this to the detectives working on your case.

I think by contacting her directly she had the opportunity to cover and tracks of her being associated with your bags. There were no serial numbers, really no proof on paper but she did have pictures showing the bags were in her possession. Her story is twisted and I would think will have more holes in it as time goes by. It does seem like she is involved in some way. Hopefully the police will find an answer but I also wonder how big a priority things like this are for them.
