Let us know whether you get your bags back from this owner. I couldn't see why not as these are stolen merchandise....

Very glad to see your bags located by members of this forum.

Well we are still on the hunt. I spoke with the owner, Linda, Lynda but she said that she does not actually have the bags in her possession, someone sent her an email with photos and asked her to sell. I asked for serial number photos and she didnt have them. She said the person who sent her the photos asked her to sell them locally instead of on IG, which is strange because she sells mostly off of IG, and why would someone ask that unless they knew they were stolen, which this person definitely did, thats why.

My detective will be in touch with her. She said she asked the woman for serial number pictures today, and the woman said that she was trying to look up the names of the bags and found a link, im guessing here, that the bags were stolen (this all is just so shady) and she said that she (the woman who sent her photos) purchased the bags unknowningly from someone and had no idea they were stolen. She then said she was going to contact a lawyer that can speak with the detective, why would she need a lawyer or even mention that if she wasnt guilty???

So I will keep you posted. Linda said she does not have my bags but will forward all of the information to the detective so lets see what happens. I am hoping, obviously that this woman who came into my store and did this gets caught and gets held accountable for her actions. Coming into a store purchasing $17,000 worth of merchandise with a stolen credit and fake matching license, then using the cards else where, are serious charges and you cant just talk your way out of them.

I will keep you all posted on what happens next.

I don't buy that story... Especially since she is photographed with what LOOKS to be your blue patent chanel that she is holding.

Did you ask her about that?
On Wednesday night, I sent the consignment shop lady an email through her website showing interest in the turquoise bag and asking about the blue one in the picture.

I got a fairly speedy snippy reply:

We already fixed the situation so don't worry . The blue bag is not the same bag you think it is so please don't think it is . I am already helping (OP's name).

In hindsight, I'm wondering whether the OP should have let the police handle it once the bags were found. I'm afraid that in contacting Lynda (or Linda or whatever her name is), the OP gave her a heads up and has given her time to get rid of the stolen bags.

Wow, just read this whole thread, and I got the feeling too that the owner of the consignment shop is somehow connected. Her explanation does not make sense either, she said that the woman that wanted to sell the bags bought them from someone else and did not know they were stolen? I could maybe see buying one bag from someone and not knowing, but to buy multiple bags that were stolen, and claiming that you do not know, does not make sense.

OP, have you gone through the consignment owners facebook, myspace etc to see if any of her friends match the women that came into your shop?

I really hope it works out for you, I've been following this thread & its awesome that you got some help from some fellow amazing tpfers. What an awesome community we have here.
That Linda girl seems shady. She definitely has those bags in her custody. And the blue patent one is definitely yours. Well if she's smart she'll help OP out, so it doesn't ruin her reputation.
Btw ....Who in the world sells bags for someone without having the bags in their custody. That's nuts!

I hope the police visit her and don't buy her story -- too many excuses and there she is holding what appears to be your purse.

And I noticed the background too - so she DID have the purses in her possession and is now lying about it?

According to her own consignment terms, she requires the name, address and Pay Pal addy of anyone consigning with her.

Also if the item is for sale for over $1,000 she requires that the item be shipped to her before she will sell it.

Share this with the police. I have a feeling this woman needs to closely looked at by law enforcement.

and here is one of the purses, for sale for $3900.00

In my opinion, the lady's story is complete BS. It's obvious by the photos that she has had these bags in her possession. The fact that she would rather lie to you about it than help you catch the thief strongly suggests to me that there is more going on here. I'd turn her name over to the cops and let them handle it.

Sadly I figured this Lynda/Linda person was connected just by viewing her IG page and when BB pointed out the misspellings in her name. I wouldnt doubt that she was the one on the phone with the girl the time she came in and brought the purses from you back in July. I hope your detective can go to her house and interview her, if she has an attorney her attorney would advise her to fully cooperate with the police.
Looking at her IG page I seriously doubt her consignment shop is doing that well that she can fully live off of it and travel the world like she has been. As I mentioned earlier these credit card scams are how these young kids are being able to live it up on Instagram now they are trying to live a celebrity lifestyle and will do so by any means necessary
