Hi All - started my hermes journey 6 months ago and loving it! shopping feels like such a treat in covid, and in such a lovely store too. Question for all my experienced "friends" out there :) is it worth bringing up my wishlist with my SA in my appt next week? she has it, and she must know that I want the things on my wishlist (duh haha), but we dont ever talk about the items when I visit the store. I have gotten one quota bag (b35 birkin) and am hoping for a kelly next! or even another birkin! I know it's a dumb question and I may be overthinking it, but not sure if I should address the elephant in the room.

Wow! Do you mind sharing how much you spent before your first quota offer in SF?

I don’t know how long ago you got the B35, but there’s no harm in mentioning your wishlist in passing, maybe jokingly even. Just don’t pester her.

Has anyone thought about carrying a taser for self-defense when shopping downtown?

Hmm I do know some people who own tasers but they're few and far between and none of them live in the city. I think as a smaller woman, in my head if someone is close enough for me to tase them and they have ill intent I'm already in great danger. I prefer bright colored pepper sprays (pink, teal blue etc) and walk with them in my hand. I live in the city and walk around a lot and its usually enough to deter most people once they see it.

I will say downtown is...dare I say it, lively again. Was out yesterday and there were a ton of people shopping, eating, and picnicking in the union square center. Tons of cars going in and out of garages. Every time I go it seems like things are going more and more back to "normal". Also spotted quite a few girls out with Bs which i've not seen in some time.

I also figured it could be used more as a deterrent. And I only brought up a taser because I used to carry around mace and one day the canister ended up bursting randomly and it leaked all over.

I was in the boutique last Wed late afternoon - there was no line for appointments and I think a 3-4 person line for walk-ins. They let all the walk ins in so weekday (not Friday) late afternoon might be good if you don’t have an appointment. The shop wasn’t too crowded at all.

Oof! I would lose my mind if it popped on me in one of my bags! Ive carried Sabre pepper sprays for over a decade now and luckily that hasnt happened yet. I think ultimately you have to do what makes you feel safe! And stay alert and hope you will not need it.
On the weekends though, Union Square has become quite lively so I would suggest going then if it brings comfort to have many other people around.

Hi! I started my Hermes journey about a week ago and would love to get some expert advice. The SA I was paired with during my appointment was very nice and attentive, but I’m not sure if we really clicked. I bought the Oran sandals from him and told him I was interested in some SLGs that was not available in the store at the time. He said he would reach out once available. I also emailed him the next day to thank him for helping me out the day before, but no response. Any thoughts?

I always have one in my car, just in case I felt unsafe. It's nice to have it as deterrence, because it does make a loud noise when activated. I have a taser baton, so someone wouldn't have to be that close in order for it to be effective. There are metal strips around the other end of the baton so all it takes is for the other person to grab onto it for them to feel the shock. Whenever I am walking around downtown I always carry a shopping tote to put my bags in, in case I felt the need to. After someone was robbed and had their dog kidnapped in my neighborhood, I felt like I had to do something.

He's probably busy or not in store. My SA may not reply to all of my emails/texts but when I arrive for my appointment they have read my message and already know what I'm looking for.

Finding and SA is so much like dating that it's a bit hilarious. If there weren't any red flags off the bat then I personally would give them another chance and really see. There's not so much that can be accomplished in an hour when building a relationship.
